  • "Great sushi with reasonable prices. Outstanding all around value."

  • "Best sushi I've ever had! And my friends and I are sushi aficionados. crunchy salmon roll was absolutely delicious, but so were the more common rolls. The fish, especially salmon was incredibly fresh. Server was super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Sushi made with great care. Best miso soup I've ever had, with tiny little mushrooms in it. No complaints whatsoever! My friends and I LOVED it! Will definitely be back!"

  • "Freshest fish since Tokyo. Good sake selection. Our server was incredible: great personality, knew the menu and was attentive without hovering. Great for a business dinner - no problem reserving and you can actually converse because the noise level is low."

  • "Service was prompt and knowledge of menu was sufficient. The sushi was fresh and melted in your mouth. The soft shell crab was delightful. We ended up getting the Douzo platter a little expensive, but worth it. Definitely would go back."

  • "We have been to Douzo many times...this was one of best meals that we have had here. Food and service were terrific including some recently new menu items. we continue to view Douzo as the best sushi restaurant in Boston"

  • "I love Douzo! As a Boston resident who eats out a good deal, this is the place I go to the most. It is clean, consistent, very healthy food, beautiful presentation and a truly amazing staff. The adagashi (sp) tofu , a traditional dish, is the best I have ever had anywhere. Wise to make reservations, they are always busy. "

  • "We visit Boston often but this is our first time trying sushi in the city. We were not disappointed! Douzo has a great modern feel with house music playing in the background which was perfect. Menu included great food and drink options for all. Rolls were delicious and everything was fresh. I had the house salad to start and their ginger dressing was the best I ever had at a sushi restaurant. The service was superb as well, our waiter was top notch. We will surly return to this restaurant!"

  • "Visiting from philadelphia we found this gem on open table. Sushi was very fresh & the fish pieces very large. Next time in boston we will absolutely return to this resestaurant. On a side note they also have a take out section separate from resestaurant. "

  • "Miso Soup, Edamame, Seaweed Salad and Salmon Tartar were all really good! Little disappointed in the sushi rolls. Seemed to fall a little flat, especially the Scallop Kiwi roll which came recommended by the waitress roll this bitter sauce on it which ruined the whole thing."

  • "There is nothing distinct about the sushi at Douzo. It is fairly run-of-the-mill sushi like you would find in the hundreds of other average sushi places around town. individual cuts on the nagiri were very small and most of their rolls were the same combinations that you find everywhere else. We sat at the sushi bar and the waitress was very attentive and actually recommended a sake that turned out to be one of the best I have ever had. The sushi chefs, who were chatting loudly throughout the meal in an Asian language I could not identify (but definitely not Japanese), did not pay any attention to anyone sitting at the sushi bar. Maybe I'm a traditionalist but it is nice to at least get a "thank you" or something when getting up to leave."

  • "Salmon teryaki and spicy tuna roll -- the best. Wait staff a little pushy during lunch hour, service not so great, but food and quick turnaround makes for a good lunch spot. "

  • "Great location, great sushi, vibrant scene. This place has an awesome location, but rises to the occasion with a beautiful interior, fantastic food, and fine service. We were there on a busy weekday lunchtime. No problem. One had the sense that it was easy for them to pull out excellence in every category. I would not hesitate to have an important business lunch here, or a romantic getaway, or just a good meal with friends."

  • "Service was very slow and we were had reservations at 4:45 on a Sat night, so they were not busy. Waited 10 min before the waiter came over and asked if we wanted a drink. The drink was good, spicy mango margarita. We ordered 4 different rolls and they all tasted the same. No taste at all, very bland and I am a sushi lover ! Nothing stood out about this place. Will not go back. "

  • "My wife love this place and have gone a lot. We sadly ended up leaving today before we had anything to eat. The table next to us had two parents and two young girls. The girls didn't want to sit so they were running around the restaurant, sitting on the floor between the table and throwing things. Finally, after I was hit by one of the kids whipping her napkin at her sister, I spoke up.The manager and the hostess both acted like I was the problem. The manager said he hadn't seen anything (even though he was not able to walk to a table because the girls were on the floor) and the hostess told me they are just kids. There isn't anything wrong with this Chuck-E-Cheese vibe, but isn't the place I'll go for a quiet pricey sushi dinner. I'll miss it"

  • "Creative sushi, great appetizers, delicious drinks! The hand rolls are awesome and the cucumber hand rolls without rice is a diet winner!! "

  • "Douzo is my favorite sushi restaurant in the area! The fish is always fresh and delicious and they even offer soy paper and brown rice. The restaurant does a fabulous job of accommodating requests and continuously caters to their customers. Great modern decor and fun music too!"

  • "The service was inattentive and poor at best and the food mediocre for the prices. I will not be back."

  • "I ordered my favorite lunch special (Omikase, one I've enjoyed for years) and was unpleasantly surprised to find they'd changed it. Instead of seafood naruto rolls, they were replaced with pickled vegetables and the handroll was crab stick instead of tuna. When I asked the waitress, she said the chef was changing it weekly (although the menu still said seafood naruro and nothing about chef's choice for the rolls). So they are charging a premium (it's still one of the most expensive lunch items), but using cheaper non-seafood ingredients for two of the main parts. Not impressive from a place that usually is."

  • "My wife and I come to Douzo at least once a month if not more, and we always have an amazing time and a great server. I don't know what happened this past visit, the server was often absent, missed out on a sale by not coming back to refill my empty glass of wine the entire dinner, and my glass had lip stick on it when they first brought my water and she said "oops I'm sorry" and left it at that. Not to mention we sat at a 2 top in a very forced space in the dining room, hard to enjoy a romantic night out sitting like that. I goess her 8 top of women next to us were more important, still left 20% not sure why. Hesitate to rush back after I have been a 5 year loyal guest if this is what is to come in the future on a busy Saturday night."

  • "A friend and I met here last summer and found the service a bit rushed, but this time all was terrific. Our server was attentive and good-humored (I spilled a glass of water!) and the food served hot and flavorful. We had a long 2 hour lunch and never felt we were overstaying our welcome. The host was also attentive and careful in finding a table for us. We'll be back."

  • "We wanted special rolls made that were not on the menu and they were created them with sheer perfection! Duozo has one of the best sushi presentation that you will experience. We eat a lot of high end sushi and we travel a lot! This place is a must if you are in the downtown Boston area. I would highly recommend this hot spot and you need to make a reservation."

  • "My first experience in Duozo was great and the second time was even better. I definitely will go back and have lunch there again when I am in Boston once more. I came from NH and had to go to Boston for some business. Every time I go to Boston, I make sure that I get to have lunch in Duozo. It is so convenient for the T station is right there and it is easy to get to. Not only is the food superb but the service is top notch bar none. Very friendly people and I just love the smiles their staff gives. Food presentation is very good and tastes even better. I am glad I discovered this and I am sure to continue patronizing this restaurant in the near and distant future."

  • "I haven't been to every sushi restaurant in Boston, but I can say this is my favorite of the ones I have been to. On a Friday night after work at 6, we had a reservation and were sat right down. The food was amazing, the service was quick but not pushy, and I have to recommend a cucumber martini to go along with the meal. It was the perfect fit and so delicious. Definitely try a specialty roll, though the classics are all good as well. Would love to go back and try some appetizers and/or a soup."
