Diner Reviews
  • "I was here finally and it was nearly 9pm. My server was Terrence and he made the night memorable with his snide attitude. He definitely made my dining partner and I feel like we weren't welcome there. I thought the food was okay, and the pizza was overly salty. I noticed in the reviews guests got some bread, and well... We didn't. Maybe I'll give this place another try in the future, but my first experience was not good at all."

  • "service was just OK , we had to ask for everything (strew, lemon for water (never arrived), sugar for the tea. tables received bread , we haven't (and we asked)good pizza , doesn't look like kids are welcome at dinner time."

  • "Great ambience inside for sure. This was our second visit and perhaps the last. The Pizza again was average at best. The pie was very soft, cooked but soft. That might be the intention but a good pizza is a little firm not soft like bread. I had the chef special which on this night was the Veal Chop, Rare and beyond salty I would say both on the Pizza and Veal very heavy handed on salt, and I am a salty lover! Plus for the meal at $39 I practically choked at the value for the price. On a opposite note the waiter was fantastic. I travel all over the country and go on business dinners at 4 and 5 star restaurants and he was one of the best by far"

  • "From pizza to wine, scallops to skirt steak, ravioli to "white" salmon... it was ALL very tasty! Enjoyable atmosphere, not too noisy, plenty of seating and room to move. Lots of large party seating also."

  • "This place has really good pizza, and also some very interesting other stuff. We had a kale salad which was far better than most, and a watermelon salad that was excellent. The flavors in the dressing are complex and make these salads stand out. We also had the ravioli which was very good. I would love to go in and order one of the big roasts for the table. I am going back soon to do that."

  • "We had let the reservation person know ahead of time that 2 of the 4 of us had medical issues that prevented us from having salt in our food, and the chef made the most delicious dishes (we had 6 in all) we could have imagined. None of us missed the salt the least bit....we loved everything we were served and enjoyed the restaurant immensely. The owner was there and came over to our table several times to see how everything was. Needless to say, we will return!"

  • "Food is generally pretty good with a nice wine menu. We saw a small bunch of pasta stuck together in one clump, we were shocked as the restaurant proudly talk about their fresh pasta. When complained to the server, she said "Oh, yeah, that's common, our pasta is made fresh, so, that happens." I asked her again, in disbelief, "You are saying this happens COMMONLY at this restaurant?" and she said again "yes, because we make it fresh. It's common." No, that doesn't happen to the freshly made pasta which were properly dried and floured, and stirred during cooking. Anyone who makes pasta can tell you that... Their traditional style pizza was okay, too doughy for me (charred outside but undercooked inside). Good toppings. Good fish special."

  • "Had a wonderful martini with stuffed olives...good wine list. Selected a house Chianti. The shredded Brussels sprout salad was too much, a bit dry & bitter. I ate the whole thing & was stuffed! Highly recommend the pizza. Grilled onions & figs along with bacon & goat cheese with basil has a fabulous blend of favors! The gelato dessert is made in house. The portion was huge. Delicious."

  • "Thought we were going to a pizza and pasta place, but I've seen neighborhood pizza joints with a large/better menu. Ambiance is near zero (unless you're a fan of industrial ceilings and concrete floors) and our waiter, while pleasant, was clueless. Too many better choices all around Atlanta for us to return."

  • "overall experience was great.. had to wait about 10 min. even though i made reservations on a wednesday night... but since the service was great it, that didn't matter. best pizza in town!"

  • "I think the servers name was Alex and he was very friendly and attentive. We sat at the pizza bar - unfortunately the floor is not even and the chair are not stable in all the areas - makes it difficult to sit in certain areas at that area. Food was good. Had the lamb meatballs and kales salad, My friend had the Bolognese dish. Like the variety of wine. The bartenders are friendly as well and good service at the bar."

  • "I hesitated to give five stars because it was rather expensive for our budget. Nevertheless, the food was outstanding - I got scallops, and the other two in my party had lobster and the red quinoa dishes. We also got asparagus, salads, and of course desserts, which are all made on premises. Very interesting and yummy combination of ingredients and flavors. I didn't even want to talk while eating . . . just wanted to be left alone to enjoy my food. One complaint - we would have liked larger fish portions . . . a few more scallops for me and a bigger piece of lobster for my sister. We are looking forward to going back to try the pizza."

  • "They get you in and out, without even rushing you. Service was courteous and attentive. I was ogling the gelato when I put in my order and after my pizza, the waitress brought me some - complimentary. Menu is not extensive, but you can find something for everyone. Nice, stress-free, tasty lunch!"

  • "This place is a treat. The menu is diverse and interesting. I want to go back and try just appetizers. Our group shared pizzas which had delicious, fresh toppings. Service was good, but not great. A few mix ups on wine and other minor details."

  • "With an unassuming frontage on Roswell Rd, one might be tempted to pass by this restaurant without further investigation. Tucked into this location is a package of nice surprises. Rather than the typical American-Italian fare, Double zero dishes capture the spirit of Italian dining through the use of authentic and fresh ingredients combined with meticulous preparation. Sure, Double Zero offers pizza, a Neapolitan-style pie that matches the best of what Atlanta has to offer, but don't miss the other excellent menu offerings, including the small plates and lamb shoulder. Double Zero is one of the few places in town that reminds me of dining in Italy. It's as fun a place to eat as it is delicious."

  • "Food was delivered too quickly. No time to rest between courses. Was asked if we wanted dessert when we hadn't yet finished our main courses. Felt like they were trying to turn the table quickly."

  • "The Castellucci Restaurant Group (Sugo, Iberian Pig) has another gem! The Neapolitan-style pizza is to die for - incredibly fresh ingredients and brilliant preparation make for a sumptuous evening dining experience. Great Italian wine list that perfectly matches the dining fare. Service is fun, knowlegealble and energetic. Have dined for lunch as well numerous times - the menu is imaginative and most satisfying. Great place for a memorable group dining experience without breaking the bank!"

  • "The restaurant was very nicely decorated. We got in and were seated very quickly. Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was pretty very good including dessert. Our server mentioned they were a whisky bar but I didn't get a chance to partake as I was driving. We will be visiting again soon."

  • "It's difficult to find quality "trendy" restaurants that are not very small and claustrophobic. We all know the feeling, you can't get a drink at the bar and when you finally do you can't move because your shoulder to shoulder with everyone else trying to do the same thing. So frustrating. I felt that with Double Zero you were able to have the best of both worlds; they have the space to accommodate a crowd as well as a delicious menu. Their service is also on point, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the specials. He was able to give great recommendations. I would suggest anyone try Double Zero. Our party enjoyed our time there and will be headed back soon."

  • "After our first visit we were intentional this time about saving room for dessert. After all, we were celebrating a birthday! Double Zero did not disappoint. From the appetizer, pork belly risotto, to the Pizza, Affettati, and then the incredible desserts it was a meal to remember. The warm blonde brownie floating atop a dulce de leche cream and a dollop of Nutella gelato, we couldn't stop eating. The Double Zero chocolate cake is like opening a gift that includes multiple boxes, a surprise in each one. We ate it, tasting layer after incredible layer, truly divine! We did manage to save some of this one and enjoyed it just as much the next day. We will be back!"

  • "While not a vegetarian, one of the dishes we ordered was the red quinoa with vegetables. It is the best vegetarian dish I have had in a year and our server said that adding the salmon would make it even better. Another reason to go back!"

  • "We've lived in the neighborhood and have never tried this restaurant. Went for Father's day and we weren't expecting much but all loved it. We enjoyed the cheese board and were wanting more and more. Pizza was yummy as were both our pastas and BRAVO cooked al dente and NOT MUSHY!! YAY. Felt the selections of wines by the glass were pricey. Our 13 and 15 year old loved the summer squash pesto spaghetti and while we ordered only 1/2 because we are unsure we all decided we are going back for more. Disappointing bread."

  • "We had a wonderful waiter named Charlton who helped us to find the right menu and drink items for each one of us! The food was incredible and even my husband wanted to go back the next day for an another pizza! We have wanted to go to this restaurant, but never thought about it as we were making decisions as where to go, now it will be a front runner! "

  • "We were hosting my husband's out of country relatives for dinner. Our travel-weary party of eight included a one year old baby. Only two members of the party were fluent enough in English to expeditiously navigate a menu. So, my husband and I arrived before our guests, and with the assistance of Stewart, our server extraordinaire, we preselected a few bottles of wine and an assorted menu suitable for sharing. The evening went spectacularly! One delicious dish after another came out in perfect sequence. Our guests were quite impressed and raved about their experience at Double Zero to other relatives throughout their trip. Thank you Stewart and Double Zero for making such a memorable evening."

  • "Absolutely and without a doubt the best pizza I've had in Atlanta. The dough is super soft but still has a good chew and the toppings are very high quality. The octopus app was also phenomenal, the pepper sauce accompanying it was as good as the one the optimist uses for their shrimp a la plancha. The pork belly risotto was even better than the octopus. If you like food, not just Italian food, this is a must visit restaurant."

  • "Fabulous experience dining with friends and enjoying cocktails mixed by a master drink specialist. Perfect Ketel One martini shaken served with with 3 olives...so good...I had the best Beet Salad ever with just the right amount of diced beets and the Scallop entree was so good I want to have it every single time I go here. The Scallops were prepared perfectly, they were so savory and tender. My dish was a beautiful sight and every bite a decadent delight. Hah! can't wait for a repeat. My companions were equally pleased. I heard the pizza was delicious, the best pizza by far, probably because of the 00 flour. The pork tenderloin was a hit. Oh yeah, I remember hearing the Old Fashions were very good."

  • "We were a party of 4 and 3 of the 4 din's were good, but portions seemed rather modest and the 4th meal was not eaten do to lack of taste...it was a pasta dish and was plain tasting and starchy (disappointing). Service was just okay - our server was responsive when we were able to get his attention, but I believe he might have been taking care of too many tables. We had more visits from management personnel to inquire about our meals than we did inquiries from our waiter. Also, the managers should be taught not to interrupt the quest's din conversations to make their satisfaction level inquiries. They just walked-up to our table and did not wait to be acknowledged and delivered their inquiries. Not very sincere. "

  • "DZ has an extensive food and wine menu that will "provide something for everyone." We have now been there twice for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed all our selections. As mentioned, it is a bit pricey (e.g., $15 for a glass of Chianti with no other Chianti choices). The menu is changed to reflect seasonal items, which is something we appreciate. We will definitely go back."

  • "Was looking for a local neighborhood place to eat that was a little something different with amazing food and a great atmosphere. This fit perfectly and was even more constantly blown away by everything Double Zero offered. First off, drinks. Started with a Moscow Mule (basically a Mojito on steroids) which was recommended by our server and was made with perfection. Second was the pizza. No matter what you order, they are all amazing and fresh. Their salmon was amazing as well served on top of a very flavorful cous-cous which complemented the salmon very well. This is now a new favorite that we will be visiting often and taking friends/family/guests/neighbors and anyone else who joins to whenever we get a chance."
