I had never had South Indian cuisine and very much enjoyed all of the food, as well as the interesting cocktail options offered here. We were put in a table right near the kitchen; odd since I noted on the reservation that it was a special occasion.
The food was quite good. I had the 3 course tasting menu and had enough for my lunch the following day. Chicken dish "on the bone" was in a thick sauce, though, and small pieces of bone were floating in the sauce which was a surprising crunch.
My husband ordered a dessert and they brought that dessert to my daughter with a candle... odd again.
The most troubling thing was that when they presented us with the bill, they added 20% service charge without mentioning it to us- we just happened to catch it .5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food. Every dish has an unique presentation ans it was really fun to see people around us reactions to their unique meals. Our meal was absolutely fabulous! Will be back next visit to San Fran!! The food is lovely, and the options are really good, I enjoyed the Dahi Vada as well, the service is warm and friendly.
