  • Absolute worse Mexican Food I have ever eaten!

Not sure what happened to this restaurant? I ate here several years ago and it was the best Mexican food I have eaten. I was hard pressed to find anything to eat on the menu. I decided on a chopped salad with chicken. Chicken was extremely dry and seasoned in such a way that it did not compliment the salad. Also the dressing, an oil and vinegar based, didn't go either! If you like flour tortillas with your tacos, "fughetaboutit!" They only have corn and whole wheat? I suggest they visit a real Mexican restaurant to learn how to prepare real Mexican food. Try Ninfa in Texas. I thought I couldn't find a bad meal in NYC but I was very wrong.

Everyone in our party of 6 complimented the food, including out-of-towners (difficult to please). We were seated in the far back against the kitchen. I was concerned at first that we might be overwhelmed with kitchen smells or noise...it was minimal, I would, however, recommend placing those tables a bit farther away from the portals looking in to the kitchen and only seating people there when the restaurant is already at capcity...as a last resort. Other tables were open and stayed open until we left...and of course, I had an opentable reservation....

My friend and I came here because we were going to a lounge for a birthday, and wanted dinner close by. What a great idea! Great food, great drinks, and the service was good. Only complaint was that I ordered the Grilled Grapefruit Margarita and it turned out to be a regular margarita. All in all, I had a great evening!

We came in around 10 to eat. I have to say the food at Dos Caminos have been on a slow decline for the past few years. The lobster tostada app tasted to be frozen and bland. Only taste was hot pepper. The guacamole was kind of dry and overly chunky. And the tacos were mediocre. Halfway through dinner we were told kitchen was closing early. Then she immidiately brought our check like 5 minutes later without any offer of more drinks. The frozen prickly pear margaritas were oddly spicy and so frozen we couldn't drink them for 20 minutes.

i've been a fan of dos caminos for many years and was very disappointed by my recent experience. the menu has been slimmed down and the dishes we had were not nearly as good as what we've had in the past. the guacamole was bland as was the fish taco (it was also soggy as it no longer has the tacos sitting up in their little trays). The shrimp crispy flat taco was decent. to add insult to injury, they charge for refills for the $3.50 sodas that come out of the bar tap!

Me and my friends recently spent the weekend in New York. My daughter had just been in the city recently and highly recommended that we try Dos Caminos. We had a delicious meal! I had the shrimp and skirt steak tacos....Delicous!! The guacamole was made to perfection and overall everything that we had was thoroughly delicious and enjoyable! What made this experience even more memorable was our wonderful waiter, Kevin! He was so knowledgable about the menu and the beer list. We asked for recommendations and he was on point with everything. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for great food, excellent service and the fun atmosphere with live DJ/music, this is a dining experience you won't soon forget!

Went for an early dinner 5:30 before a Broadway show. Menu selection was quite good, the fresh guacamole was outrageously good! Noticed a number of families with young children, not sure what the mix would be later on. Portion sizes were more than adequate and a decent value. Unable to comment on drinks.

Ate here prior to an off broadway show, which was a perfect walking distance that was well needed after eating. The guacamole was fantastic and the shrimp that we ordered as well was placed right on top, which surprised me but it was a great combination. The main entrées were fantastic. Well seasoned and presentation was great. The restaurant received a face lift, which was upbeat and alluring. Definitely will bring in a younger crowd and I think still maintain former patrons. I also liked that it can be kid friendly, since I was their with my teenage son.

My sister was in town, and we were looking for a last-minute Saturday night dinner reservation - I was sweating. My sister is also a gluten free vegan so that makes things even more limiting. Dos Caminos and their amazing guacamole to the rescue! The food is not particularly creative, but everything I've ever eaten there is delicious. The price point is a bit high for nyc Mexican, but I know I'll always get great service and a solid meal. So they continue to be a go-to place for dinner.
