When we arrived to the restaurant they were not open. Someone opended the door and said the chef had not arrived. Did not offer much more than I'm sorry. No redirection to another restaurant. Did not have the courtesy to call me ahead of time.Howard Siegel708 Chalfonte DriveAlexandria, Va. 22305

We were looking for a good neighborhood restaraunt when I saw an offer on KGB. Thought it would be good to try this restaraunt at a discount. The food, service and atmoshere was good. However, when we went to pay for the dinner, the manager/owner said the coupon was "no good, that it was a mistake". The waiter said there had been two owners, the one who contracted for the KBG coupon took all the money and split, leaving the other the restaraunt with people coming in to redeem their coupons. So, call, check it they are or not accepting the coupon before you go.

The restaurant and bar is beautiful, best decor of any restaurant between 79th and 86th on 2nd avenue. After that there is not much to say-the service was slow and spotty -when the food finally came, the portions were small and some of the dishes had been under a heating lamp-the chicken marsalla was too thick and the meat was dry. Very disappointing. Will not be going back

My group of 8 enjoyed the food at this restaurant very much. We had a 6:30pm reservation and the place was totally empty. The restaurant continued to be empty with the exception of a few people at the bar at 9:pm. Number 1. this restaurant need to be promoted better, 2. I realize that its right on 2nd avenue where all the work for the subway is being done which is a detriment to people coming- There needs to be a way to over come this. We all enjoyed the restaurant very much but we felt as if it would have been a better experience with other people around us.

They must have increased the portion size because we were served very large entree plates. Food is good...we were more impressed by the entress more than the special appetizers. The restaurnat is gorgeous... romantic and quiet with ample room between tables. Service was excellent. There is a large and comfortable bar. Wine list is good. But the killer is they have the best mashed potatos on the UES!

We ate here for a Saturday lunch for a special occasion, I picked it based on proximity to someone's apartment -- and because OpenTable had great reviews. The food was authentic and excellent, but not plentiful. The service was excellent and friendly. Order a veal dish and get three small slices of wonderfully cooked meat with the best mashed potatoes I ever had. The truffle ravioli were absolutely delicious, but only five. A fish special was nicely cut and a decent size. Dessert was perfectly done. Nice meal for three, three drinks, with tip, over $250.00.

  • My new favorite UES restaurant
    OpenTable Diner Since 2010
    Dined on 3/29/2012
I was there with 6 girlfriends. Had an amazing time. Food is excellent, one of the best northern italian restaurant in town. Try the delicious "polpette di vitello",veal meatballs over a goat cheese flan or the pappardelle in veal and rosemary bolognese sauce. Impressive menu, authentic and excellent italian food. Really good service and outstanding cocktails served. We loved the cozy and friendly ambience. I've been back already couple of times. It surely became my favorite UES restaurant for the excellent menu, the cozy ambience and the friendly staff.

This is one of the best new restaurants in the city. The food is fabulous, the service is outstanding, the wine list is wonderful, the cocktails are inventive and delicious, the restaurant is very pretty, in fact, everything is perfect. We loved everything we had and thought the complimentary Prosecco was such a nice touch. We had a perfect meal and a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!

Great bar area with a fun cocktail list. Wonderful menu with a good range of appetizers and balance of pasta and fish and meat entrees. Our meals were delicious. We just didn't like that we had a reservation but they still sat us at a bar table near the front and not in the back. The tables near the front are too bright but the back is darker so I would recommend asking for a table back there

This wonderful UES newcomer is exactly the place I want to dine at again and again. From the ambiance, which transports your troubles away, to the unique cocktails mixed by Cristina to the delicious Northern Italian fare, you will enjoy every ounce of your dining experience. I have no doubt this will be a very popular and busy hotspot for a long time to come.

This restaurant has been open less than 2 weeks at this review. With a bit more time under it's belt, it will definitely be my go-to place for tasty Italian inspired food in my neighborhood. Not your "red sauce" and mozzarella type place, food is interesting and well prepared. Table spacing is ample and the noise level acceptable, not easy to find in the City.

This was our second visit to this UES newcomer. Excellent and inventive North Italian. A great addition to a neighborhood with many other good restaurants. Mercifully short, well chosen menu with a few specials. Large, well separated tables and excellent, quiet accoustics. Wood panelling gives the impression of a private club. Good, well chosen wine list. Attentive service.
