The food was fantastic...once it made it to the table. The maitre'd and the manager were great, but the servers left quite a bit to be desired. I had the Moroccan Lamb Burger, and it was WONDERFUL!!! My fiance had the Shrimp Penne and she thought it was great, but a bit saltier than she would have liked. Overall a fantastic atmosphere, and delicious food.

This is one of our reliable, favorites. We love the food and the relaxed setting. On this particular night we didn't see the waiter for quite some time after dinner was served, but generally we are quite pleased with the service as well.

Friday nights dinner was excellent. There was threat of rain yet rather than have everyone who wanted to sit on the lovely balcony, sit inside, the staff either put up umbrellas or has table under the overhang of the roof.It was perfect. The fish was very good as was the dessert.A very nice evening

Donna's is always a great place for lunch and dinner. (Haven't tried breakfast yet.) The food, as always, was delicious, the wine recommendations were perfect. I only wish it had been a bit warmer outside--eating outside at Donna's is a real treat.

Donna's was quite a surprise for us. We were expecting sandwich style food and were surprised with a very nice menu with unusual selections. The shrimp appetizer with the fennel was amazing and my daughter was talking about the lamb burger for days after. We will definitely go back.

Always dependable; good value. Walking distance for us. A convenient early evening and later evening place to dine with a very sound range of dishes. Tomato bisque, roasted veggie salad: Excellent. Always a very good glass of wine, for our tastes.

  • Our dinner at the Cross Keys
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 4/25/2009
Our dinner at the Cross Keys Donna's was our first time there. The food was fresh, excellently prepared and served hot. The wine was outstanding; we tried an excellent Riesling and a red wine from Italy. The resturant took care of us as if we had been going there for years and the ambiance was perfect. Our waitress always seemed to be at least one step ahead of us which resulted in our drinks, orders and food always being taken care of on time. The four of us started with the sauted calamori and veal cheeks; both were amazing. For entrees one had the pasta with duck; one the grouper special, one the lamb burger and the last had the margarita pizza. I would definitely return and recommend this to everybody. Great Food and Service!!!

The food was good but not great. It may have been that it was late and holiday so I would try it again and hope for food that was not overdone. Despite the crowd the server was very good and very much appreciated given that we had a table of six. We would go back again to sample the food on a quieter night when we could sit outside.

My girlfriend and I have gone to a couple of the other Donna's cafés and have overall been happy with the experience. The food is excellent, and they seem to be just as happy to have you in there to have dessert and coffee as they are for you to have a four course meal. This visit the service was a bit slow, but hey, it was prime time on Valentines day, I'll cut them a break. Overall, this looks like it's going to be one of my favorite restaurants in this area. One thing to note is that I have never gone to Donna's and not had an extremely polite server, the staff seem to love their jobs, and it shows.

The desserts are excellent. Portions are large so it is often possible to take some of your meal home for the next day.
