  • "This was our first time dining at Donato's and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As soon as the waitress learned it was my husband's birthday, she brought a candle to the table, sprinkled glittery decorations on the table and when it was time for dessert, let me husband know his was free. The food was fantastic -- the meatballs were phenomenal! While it did not appear to be a kid's restaurant (our 6-year-old was the only child in the restaurant), they let us know that a kid's menu was available. You can tell it's a neighborhood favorite as the clientele seemed to know the wait staff. We had a wonderful time and will be back."

  • "I was not impressed. It isn't particularly romantic, more like a regular neighborhood restaurant. The fried zucchini wasn't the lightly breaded kind we like. The house salad was plain, soft mixed greens and the dressing tasted mostly of olive oil. My husband thought the caesar dressing had too much egg/mayonnaise. The cod was cooked correctly, but not salted well. The green beans were fresh and good and plenty. My husband liked his veal chop. They forgot bread until I asked for some to help eat the flaky fish. We won't return. They didn't acknowledge the anniversary, no big deal."

I love the look of the restaurant, it was so relaxing! We ordered the shrimp appetizer and it was amazing! Great portion sizes! It is pricey, but well worth it! My boyfriend had a cocktail, and it was perfect!"

  • "This was our first time at the restaurant and we were impressed. Everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the baked oysters as an appetizer. It was great. We both got steaks as an entree. Melt in your mouth delicious!! Our waitress was wonderful. She brought us a sample of their meatballs. I definitely know I'm going to get an order of pasta and meatballs next time I come here because they were probably the best meatballs I've ever had. All in all this was a fantastic dinner!"

  • "The crab cakes were exceptionally good, huge pieces of lump crab no filler here, husbands cod was also exceptional. The fried zucchini appetizer left much to be desired, overcooked and egg tasting,too thick for me, husband thought it was passable. The service was outstanding, appreciated the free desert for husbands birthday , creme brûlée was just ok, think it was from a mix. Overall it was a great place, just won't get the zucchini the next time, but would definitely return."

The portions are LARGE - after the gratis hummus crustini, the (absolutely fresh, soft and delicious) calamari app and the soup (creamy salmon bisque) before our main dishes - we could not eat more than 3 bites of our entrees. Everything was perfectly spiced, seasoned, and cooked. The broiled lobster special was wonderful. The veal chop was thick, sweet, and soft. I couldn't eat more than a few bites of the mushroom herb risotto and the truffle mac and cheese, but what I was able to try, I loved. Come with friends, come HUNGRY, and come expecting detailed and spot-on service. They clear the course's flatware after each round, and bring out the food on time. So good. We will happily return!"

  • "From the moment our group of 4 sat in our corner booth in the bar area, our server Matt treated us as though we were royalty. Never experienced any service like that before. His friendly interaction was personal yet highly professional. Truffle cheese macaroni is worth the trip there alone. Meatballs excellent. Little mishap with the steak done ness but it was corrected immediately. Tiramisu also excellent. Matt knows his liquor and steered us towards some older scotch which was worth every penny. Fresh oysters good. This is our favorite place from now on. But always with Matt. Sure the others are as good! But he is unbelievable!"

  • "WE had an amazing dinner at Donato's! Our table wasn't ready for our reservation, so we had a drink at the bar. Wine list was extensive. Chef Donato's selections at the top of the wine menu never fail to be great. We were notified that our table was ready. We were celebrating our anniversary and to my excitement, the table was decorated with confetti!!! :) We started off our meal with fried calamari. Truly spectacular and honestly a meal in itself. HUGE portion. We also ordered the veal parm and Filet Mignon. Barely had enough room for our dinners after the creamy chicken soup for my and chef d signature salad for my hubby. Filet mignon was so soft that you could cut with a fork and perfectly seasoned. We will be back often"

We also had the truffle pasta - we have to get this every time we go because it is the BEST thing ever!! Nice wine list.
