Don the BeachcomberA little taste of Hawaii in CaliWe LOVE this place. The food is great, had the ribs special on thurs, and the chop salad. For drinks we had the Painkller and the Zombie....great choices. Will go back next week!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDon the BeachcomerWe went there for Mother's Day Brunch. LOVED IT! The food was ok....the carving station only had Kalua pig and beef brisket....that would've been ok except alot of people don't eat pork or beef. Was expecting at least turkey or maybe even prime rib would've been nice. Other than that the service was excellent and the entertainment was da bomb. It was so good we are going back for Father's Day Brunch!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFun at Don The BeachcomberThe food was excellent although, I won't order crab legs again, they are just too hard to open and messy, they were great tasting, I would order them, if they could bring them to the table out of the shell. The service was excellent! Our waiter, Tyler was spot on! So friendly.
Once we finished our meal, we explored the place (a lot to look at) and found ourselves in one of the bars where the group Flyers were playing. It was a pleasant surprise to see them there, we used to go to Busters where they played for years and wondered where they went. It was a great evening, definitely will go back!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVery coolDon the Beachcomber reminded me of my days living in Hawaii. The ambiance is reminiscent of the last few authentic tiki bars of yesteryear. I ordered Huli Huli chicken didn't miss a beat that was pretty tasty. We also ordered ahi tacos amazing! The ambiance and decoration is truly unique. Go with good company, be adventurous with the food, and travel to the days of Hawaiis colorful past.
Much like Damon's in Glendale or La Mariana Sailing Club in Honolulu.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat bday experienceTook my hubby on his bday, and we had a great time! our server Mia was super sweet and knowledgeable. Food was good, tasty and nicely plated. there a good selections of appetizers, entrees, desserts and drinks, which makes it a bit hard to choose. At the end, Mia surprised my husband with a yummy mini pineapple upside down cake and we also ordered the homemade bread pudding which was delicious. Cute hawaiian atmosphere although we were the only ones in the dining room on a Tues night. Will recommend!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe scenic view is of theThe scenic view is of the Hawaiian entertainment - always excellent. For the brunch I would make a request to sit in the room with the entertainment. We have once been able to do that and it was much better to see the dancers. The advantage of the other room is you are near the food. There is a stage in that room also and had there been entertainment there (they had a shave ice bar set up), it would have been perfect.
The food is great. There is something for everyone in the buffet. I would say the dessert is the most lacking. Very little to choose from.
But the ambience, the basic food, the entertainment and the great service is worth it all.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur fish n chips and duckOur fish n chips and duck was delicious! Service was excellent!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMNot as good for gluten freeNot as good for gluten free options as I'd hoped but the music and ambiance were fantastic.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM
