My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a great meal at Don Giovanni's. The service was good, although the heavy Italian accent of our waiter made communication a bit clumsy. if you process the language, this would be a great place to practice your Italian. However, even if you do not speak Italian, the food is worth a visit.

After reading reviews for this restaurant we decided to give it a try for a birthday celebration and we were so glad we did. Food was delicious and the personal attention that was given to us was outstanding. It was a true Italian restaurant - everything homemade. Mrs. Giovanni sang and it was just delightful. She also sat and visited with us for a while telling us stories of how they came to this country. So nice to finally have a great restaurant in Auburn!

Exceptional food, great staff, supper sweet family runs the restaurant. We felt like we were back in Italy. We will be back to try more. Their scallop & shrimp appetizer was wonderful. The lasagna was rustic, hardy, and rich. Great wine selection as well!

The first time we were at DG's everything was perfect. This was the 2nd visit. The Caesar salad was delicious, the antipasto was very good as were the fried calamari and the chicken gorgonzola which was outstanding. But the lasagne came cold from the kitchen and had to be sent back. On return it was almost hot but had somehow morphed into "lasagna soup". There was so much sauce it became inedible. To their credit, however, the wrong bottle of wine that was brought to the table wasn't noticed until it was all drunk (drinked? drank?) except that it was not as good as the last time we had had it. We mentioned this to the owner and he promptly replaced the bottle with a comped bottle of the correct wine. Would we go back? Yes.

This is a true Italian restraurant. The owners are Momma and Pap and are in the restaurant, keep the ambiance! Pap makes sure you are happy and taken good care of and Momma sings quaint italian songs for special occasions. We heard 4 of her songs! She sings very well and makes you feel warm and fuzzy! The food is AMAZING! Everything was authentic and flavorful! I had Caprese with homemade monzorella for an appetizer and a noodle dish that makes my mouth water when I think of it! Wide noodles, with crab and lobster and a lemon cream sauce! Just delicious! For dessert, creme brulee! Everything was amazing and I recommend this restaurant to everyone!

This is a great little gem in Auburn. We no longer have to go all the way to Seattle to have a nice evening out. We can take our kids...or not. We can invite friends and feel good about saying let's stick local. It helps my husband is from Italy, so we can even have fun with real authentic Italian atmosphere, greatly enhanced by the owners special attention. On my birthday my husband called ahead and they made a special desert just for me....and Mamma came and sang to me at the table, in Italian, and no it wasn't happy birthday..... The food is made there, and it is a great place to introduce kids to fine dining...because Italians....well, they can deal with it.....the three area of the dining room make it quieter, even if busy.

OpenTable's system COMPLETELY FAILED... I have used OpenTable for several years and have my local set automatically when I login to OpenTable for Napa, CA where I reside. I made this reservation for Don Giovanni's in Napa (OR SO I THOUGHT) only to get to the restaurant and find they did not have any reservation for my party of 6!!! After being dissappointed and upon closer inspection of the email confirmation from OpenTable... the reservation was for a "Don Giovanni's" in AUBURN, WASHINGTON... 900 miles away! This system error or failure with OpenTable is really dissappointing and has me reconsidering using and recommending OpenTable. Bill Marseilles

In Italy, there is no fusion Italian or hamburger in our sauce. For Italians, food is integrated into their culture, their passion and as we say it, "it's in our blood". More than half their food comes from Italy. They have wine from a family winery in Tuscany. On their regular menu, they have boar, quails, rabbit and lamb. Their vegetables are grown by local farmers. The lobster is flown in fresh from Maine. The pasta is artisan and is cooked al dente like all pastas should be. The owners run the place like you are visiting their home and you are their guest.Their chefs have 35 years of experience in Italy, France and Las Vegas. What is surprising is that it is in Auburn instead of downtown Seattle. But that makes it even better. A true gem.

Fifteen minutes after being seated, we got our salad, the Don Giovanni salad, which was awful and I do not recommend. We never got our food even after waiting an hour and twenty minutes. People who were seated twenty-thirty minutes after us were given their food before my husband and I, and we just sat there, staring at our sad salad, and the waiters didn't even check in with us or apologize for the wait. After an hour we finally waved down a waiter and asked what was happening and he said ten more minutes and never came back. After 20 minutes we called the waiter from another table and told him we were leaving. They didn't charge us for the salad, and we are never going back again.

Until our friend Tony La Stella was entertaining there on Sunday evening, we had no idea this restaurant existed. Mom has designed an incredible menu and as a couple her and her husband are extremely welcoming and friendly. You must go on a Sunday evening from 6-9 to hear Tony play, with an Italian attitude; pop, opera, Frank Sinatra and all with amazing vocals. We will be back!

A mixed review here. First the clear positives: very friendly, personal and attentive service; and the remodel of what was formerly Ristorante Auguri is very nice and the interior is much improved. As for the food, my partner and I both agreed that the salads were fine, but we split on our entrees. My mushroom risotto was quite good, but his pasta with lamb ragu was skimpy, not very flavorful and the ragu had bone shards in it. Liquor prices are quite steep. Overall, I'd also say that, while it's a nice enough place, they're overpriced by about 15% for what and where they are

True Italian recipes! We had three different entrees and we each would order them again. Tiramisu was outrageously good. Love having the owners come out to speak with us during dinner to tell us about themselves and their recipes. I returned two nights later with another couple and we had three different different delicious entrees. I had the cioppino which was excellent as the fish and seafood were cooked perfectly. Enjoyed our waiter Dave.

We didn't expect to find an authentic Italian restaurant in Auburn WA. I had the best halibut I have ever tasted. My husband's pasta was homemade and his shrimp scallop dish was delicious. The service was impeccable. The staff were efficient friendly and authentic. The place had a great ambience. I would recommend this to anyone who loves authentic Italian food.

Superior service and delectable choices on the menu. The lamb chops were superb, and the shrimp and scallops excellent also. Unfortunately they were out of the pasta with wild boar, which was absolutely delicious last time we visited. Our server Michael also entertained us with a song--worth going just to hear him sing! We will definitely be back!

We love Italian food and am thrilled that Giovanni's opened in Auburn! The food is fantastic and the service is incredible! We love that they will modify their dishes to your request, both for adults and kids. The atmosphere is cozy, but still kid friendly for older children and those who can eat quietly (because of the closeness of the tables babies or toddlers who are loud will disrupt other diners).

We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing early dinner in the bar at Don Giovanni Ristorante with great service provided by Dave. Both the Pollo al Limone and Linguine al Frutti di Mare were excellent, as were the salads. I was hoping for a chicken pasta dish, but must admit the root vegetables that accompanied the chicken were sublime. Don't miss out on the Limoncello Gelato for dessert.

The Ristorante has had a full remodel. The bar is awesome, from the 40's era. It looks like a place out of Italy. White table clothes, fantastic food, great wine list and a full bar. Everything is fresh and made in house. They have wonder fish and pasta dishes. Make sure you leave room for dessert! The owners are present and Don Giovanni comes around to meet and greet. You feel like your part of their family. Our waiter Mike Hickam, was fantastic. This is a 5 star facility with a very affordable price menu. They do accept reservations. If you feel like an evening out our you want to take the office staff out for a drink and snacks don't miss this place. It is a Great Find in Auburn.

We walked in and were met by "mama" who warmly greeted us and then led us through the wonderful garlic scented restaurant to our seat. The food was wonderful. They had Gnocchi which is only found in a few Italian restaurants and we learned it was made fresh every day by Mama, and you could tell, It was Perfect. Giovani came out and talked with us at our table while his son chose our wine. We will be coming regulars at this hidden gem.

Worst Valentine's day decision ever. Decided to take my girlfriend here fit candies day. We were not told it was going Yi be a set menu but oh well we'll stay and select from the set menu. Only way we found out it was a set menu was because or soup came out before our waters. Our pasta entree came out uncooked. Noticed three other tables around us disappointed and two of those tables got up and left before the third course. It was just a loud, unprofessional, hectic place to be with under par foodsl. Much rather Hehe olive garden and I haven't ate there in a decade. 170 bucks for a night of disappointment. Never coming back that's for sure

We went there on valentine's day and they had a special menu with a format of "this or that" for choices. The choices weren't great, the portions were small (granted it was a 5 course meal), and they REALLY PUSHED me and my wife to get two different things (maybe they were having trouble with balance? I overheard another couple being pressured in the same way even though the woman was not overly fond of the choices). One of my dishes had undercooked noodles, my wife's chicken was dry and flavorless, and the tiramisu was basically just whipped cream. To top it all off the cost per person was $60! Perhaps on a regular menu day, we may have found a quality italian restaurant, but they tried to be too fancy and special and fell very short.
