The food was very flavorful and with so many small plate options, we were really able to explore the menu. We dine out on a regular basis, and this was one of the best meals we've had in recent memory! Service was top notch as were the cocktails.

We were very excited to try Dominques for the first time but our timing was bad as we learned that night that Dominque had left the restaurant that week. The menu had changed and the servers had not had time to learn it so it was a bit discombulated. The new menu was not appealing and very limited for seafood options which was disappointing and not something you would expect from a New Orleans restaurant. I ended up with a short rib sandwich which although tasty was not what I was expecting to eat for a nice meal out especially for a special occasion. I had heard great things about this restaurant but I just think our timing was off. My husband enjoyed his duck entree.

Have been to Dominique's before and the food was much better in both variety and flair of the menu as well as taste! Don't know what happened but this version was not even close. Also noticed that before it was packed and reservations a must...on a Saturday night you could walk in and there was plenty of tables! Clearly I'm not the first to notice the change!!!!!

several of the items on the limited menu were not available, include one of the night's specials, and we were not told the items were not available until after we ordered them. We had 7:30 pm dinner reservations on a Saturday night and the restaurant was not crowded, so there was no reason to be out of food. only after we left the restaurant did we learn the Dominque, the Chef and namesake, has announced he was leaving the restaurant.

The was our first time here. We were pleasantly surprised to find the small parking lot next door as parking on magazine has gotten difficult. Upon entering and being seated we looked around to find a very unusual decor for New Orleans. The enter iron is interesting but seems a little out of place. We were a party of four. We had 4 appetizers...all very good. The shrimp wrap with basil is a delicious light dish. Don't miss it. For dinner we enjoyed the soft shell crab special and the drum special. Both filled with flavor. We also tried the pork chop ( meat lovers must give it a go!) and the duck. I think it was the best of the four dishes. We were too full for dessert. But the menu had some nice offerings. We will return!

our dinner at Dominiques's was disappointing. The interior was interesting and modern but the food was seriously lacking. Our steaks were dry. The four of us ordered every appetizer on the menu and none were very good. we also ordered 3 desserts which were not interesting or tasty. The banana cream pie tasted and looked like a banana from a blender. There were too many complicated sauces and ingredients instead of just good food.

My table was overall disappointed with Dominique's. I enjoyed my food the most but one of my companions hated both her appetizer and her entree. I found my food to be serviceable, but certainly not delectable, exotic, original or exciting. The worst part was the noise/acoustics. There weren't even that many people there (we had a 9:30 reservation) and I could hardly hear my companions across the table. I can't imagine how challenging it would be to have a conversation with a booked house. We did have a good waitress and they gave us cotton candy at the close, but that was not enough to salvage an overall disappointing experience. I would not go back.

Hadn't tired Dominique's new place so when we saw the Coolinary special advertised on Open Table we thought it was a great opportunity to do so. + Great food, great service, great décor. Love the trademark cotton candy ending. - We had to ask for the Coolinary menu selections - they weren't offered to us or anyone sitting around us. While the new place is beautiful and the décor outstanding, it's a bit too noisy and the proximity of seating to your neighbor just adds to the noise problem. We really don't want to hear someone else's intimate conversation or share ours with them. OVERALL: We had the great food we expected with the attentive service we're accustomed to. Maybe a little soundproofing is the answer.

The place is beautiful. The staff and dinner were excellent. We went for the coolinary promotion but ordered off the menu. I'm a sucker for soft shelled crabs. They were fixed to perfection. Truly outstanding and inspired cuisine here. Interesting flavors beautifully presented. Our head waitress was extremely knowledgable about the menu and was able to accurately recite specials from memory (impressive!). However, the back up wait staff delivered appetizers, drinks and dessert to the wrong people in our party. It was very frustrating, but when brought to management's attention at the end of the evening it was addressed by the chef immediately and to my satisfaction.

We had a mixed experience for dinner. The appetizers were phenomenal (the goat cheese/sweet onion fricassee and kobe beef tartar). Dinner was only average. My wife had the lemon fish special, which had too strong of a citrus flavor. I had the maple duck, which had less flavor than anticipated. We had the strawberry shortcake special for dessert, which was good. The bar is excellent and makes great cocktails. The best surprise was the green apple cotton candy provided at the end of the meal - simply outstanding! Overall it was a good experience, but not as great as we were expecting. The entrees were a disappointment.

From the atmosphere, the impeccable service, to the amazing food. My overall experience at Dominique's was a fantastic. I went on the reccomendation of a fellow food lover, and was not dissappointed. The staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable, but we all go out to dine for food which was well thought out and fabulously executed. I would definitely return, and the only reason I wouldn't reccomend Dominique's on Magazine to anyone is to selfishly save a table for me.

Dominique's on Magazine is always excellent., so it is surprising that I have a few minor complaints to register this time. Two of us at our table ordered the jerked pork chop. The flavor was there, but both our pork chops were over-cooked. One of us had the prawns and complained that they were also overcooked. This is not the norm for this restaurant. Maybe we should have specified that we wanted the "medium," but weren't asked and just assumed it would be. The desserts were a little on the small side. The trio of ice creams appeared to have been dipped with a melon-baller and the banana cream "pie" was in a container about the size of a shot glass, but were still delicious. Everything else was excellent, as usual.

Spent 4 days in New Orleans my first night had dinner at Dominique's on Magazine they truly have a full comprehension of fantastic service ,outstanding food and attention to detail our waiter ( Michael ) was so passionately knowledgeable about the Restaurant and the region it only enhanced our overall experience and to be treated to a full tour front and back of the house was excellent. The kitchen was spotless and we were in on the back end of service. They have made the MUST do list for New Orleans for my guests and myself.

We really loved Dominique's...the service was outstanding and the food was excellant except unfortunately, I had a very dry piece of fish but the crab salad I had beforehand and my husband's soft shell crab insures that we will be back. I would just be leary of the fish if you order it but it may have just been a one time thing. I would defintely recommend this restaurant.

Every course was superior and priced very reasonably for the high level of cuisine. Service, however, was a little amatuerish. Our server was very nice, and checked on us appropriately. However, we had to pour our own water, and long-ago finished cocktails sat on the table even after wine was served, picked up finally during dessert. The first wine pour was way short, followed by an enormous pour. Overall, though, the entire meal was wonderful. I am sure the server just needs a little polishing.

I am looking forward to dining here again. I had the shortribs served over vegetable puree, which is low carb and a rare find for this city. It was totally delicious and who knew I liked rutabaga puree with a red wine reduction? The shrimp remoulade served in a large basil leaf was quite nice and delightfully different. This is a wonderful menu.My dinner partner had the wagu beef meatballs with pasta which was scrumptous. And he had the pecan tart which he said was very, very nice. Our waiter was very polite, knowledgeable and prompt- no waiting around for anything. The decor is subtle but elegant, with marble tables and soft lighting- I would say comfortable and sophisticated.
