  • "We celebrated a colleague's B-Day and it was our first time at the restaurant - we chose it because of all the reviews we had heard and read. The food was outstanding. We ordered a whole lot of different plates to share and everything was so tasty. From the appetizers to the cauliflower and the pizzas and pasta, it was a true delicious meal. We will be back!!"

  • "Went with friends & our toddler. Restaurant was loud enough we were not worried about him bothering people but quiet enough to enjoy conversation with friends. Most of the food was amazing - we loved the duck pate, rabbit pasta, squash blossoms & cauliflower (really the whipped feta was the best). The carrot pizza was the only disappointing item,but overall we had a wonderful time & were very happy with the food."

  • "Last night in New Orleans and the best service we had during out stay. The waitress Christine really made this dinner for us. Good food at a deasant price. A nice twist when selecting wine. Find your own wine in the wine room and a big plus that the wine was decanted. We stayed until late and there was no rush in getting us out if there. All in all a place to recommend and with truely impeccable service."

  • "Used to love Domenica. They have reduced the menu to a single page and removed several of their best items. Our service verged on being ignored. Food was good but nor memorable as it has so often been. Not planning to return unless I hear great things again. Also there is now Domenica Pizza uptown on Magazine St. We did stop in and the pizza was terrific. Great selection of all kinds of beer."

  • "but Domenica was a bit of a let down. I was told the roasted cauliflower was wonderful so I planned to order it in spite of the steep $18.00 price. I don't know, it was just disappointing. I suppose that I expected too much, the flavor was lacking, and I know that I can do a much better job at home. I ordered the roasted carrot pizza and it was good....just good. The combinations of the beets, carrots and brussel sprouts was a great concept but the crust was flimsy and didn't hold up well. Our waiter was quite stealthy as we had to ask him if we could place our order for dinner, after we had finished our appetizer and he never asked if he could get us another drink from the bar. Domenica was disappointing and I doubt that I will return."

  • "This restaurant is awesome. I try to stop in whenever I am in town. I have been here many times and each time have not been disappointed. It is not the place to go if you want a quiet intimate dinner, as the environment is quite noisy. The food though speaks for itself. The flavor profiles though at face look odd, but taste delicious. The servings are sizeable and perfect to share. It's so plentiful that I have only ordered dessert once."

  • "We ate at Domenica on our last night in New Orleans. We wish we had found it earlier. The service was casual, yet professional. We had the roasted cauliflower (delicious), a pizza and pasta. Although we were stuffed, we couldn't resist getting the banana dessert, and were SO glad we did. We had a very memorable meal."

  • "HUGE THANKS to Adam for his phenomenal service and to the chef and kitchen staff for their conscientious attention to my son's food allergy needs.As always,the food was DELCIOUS!We dined during Happy Hour and enjoyed two tasty pizzas (LOVE LOVE LOVE the Happy Hour specials!), the phenomanal roasted cauliflower/goat cheese dip and two beautiful,elegant and YUMMY desserts.My son was in creamy-vanilla heaven as he devoured the panne cotta and I savored every taste of the peach and blueberry cake.I highly recommend Domenica to anyone searching for great food and superb service in a classy yet comfortable,relaxed setting(ask for Adam as your server AND don't forget to order a dozen or two of their pastry queen's KILLER chocolate cookies to-go)."

  • "We had just arrived at our hotel in New Orleans and wanted something tasty but close to the restaurant and found Domenica through Open Table and decided to give it a shot. BEST decision ever! I had the margherita pizza which had flavors that transported me back to my Sicilian grandmother's table. My fiancée had the pork pizza and ate every last bite. Foodies will appreciate the fancy appetizer menu and everyone can appreciate the mistake proof menu of authentic Italian bites. There isn't a plethora of entree selections but there's plenty to please everyone. The noise level kept it from being terribly romantic but the ambiance was very pleasant. We will definitely return."

  • "Exceptional Italian cuisine with a distinctive Southern flare. Our friendly server made several recommendations and not once steered us wrong. The surprise of the evening was a head of cauliflower charred in the pizza oven for diners to pull off soft/crunchy heads for dipping in an extraordinary sauce of feta, goat cheese and cumin oil... yum! The charcuterie board served up fantastic meats and cheeses with some surprising sweet notes, most notably a glaced fruit infused with horseradish. Rabbit tagliatelle, sweet quid ink pasta with crab, and a beguilingly simple lasagna with bechamel were gobbled up with gusto during our "family-style" business dinner. Enjoying such fine food in an environment so lacking in pretention is a rare treat!"

  • "Conducted a high level business luncheon with our top execs. Not an especially easy find unless you know it's part of the Roosevelt Hotel. Their cuisine leans heavily towards Italian. Since no one particularly wanted just a luncheon entree, we divided 3 specialty pizzas four ways. This worked out well as their pizza is not the standard you'd find in NYC. About 12" personal pies, but enough for several. Crust was crisp and toppings were excellent."

It can get noisy, but not so much that it becomes distracting or annoying. The service is uniformly excellent, the ambience comfortable, and the food simply delicious."

  • "It's our goal to eventually try everything on the menu. As the menu changes with the seasons, we continue to be surprised with the variety of dishes and find a new favorite. This time it was the squid ink pasta. The umami flavors from the dish was amazing. We had some issues with some of the timing and confusion of our dishes, but our server and the manager made up for it. It won't stop us from dining here again."

  • "Second meal here. I could have gone back the next day the meal was so great. They have a stylish, warm, vibrant busy dining room, great menu. I have been to many "acclaimed" italian restaurants and this is one of my favorites. Romantic when I went w the hubby, and also comfortable enough dining with my seven and ten year old present this time (this is not a place for small or sticky children and no, they don't have French fries.) Once again, we had a great time, and the food was fantastic! Definitely eat here while in New Orleans."

  • "The space is beautiful and the service is just wonderful. We started off with some drinks, I ordered sweet tea and they brought me unsweetened tea with simple syrup so that I could sweeten it myself which was really cool. Started off with the octopus carpaccio which was awesome and a nice clean refreshing way to start things. For entrees we went with the 4 cheese pizza and the rabbit finger sandwich. The pizza was awesome and everything was fresh and just awesome. The sandwich was out of this world, I love rabbit and I never thought to cut it into strips and fry it like chicken but it works beautifully. The housemade bun also added a lot to the sandwich and pretty much resulted in me devouring the whole thing."

Whereas at August we had mediocre service, lackluster appetizers and great entrees, at Domenica we had great service, an outstanding appetizer and good pizza. One larger appetizer and a pizza were enough for two to share for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the bolognese with tahini and zatar seasoned bread. Truly outstanding with unique flavors! The mushroom pizza topped with an egg was good, though we both wished it was slightly more cooked in the center. With the egg cooked by the heat of the pizza, the center ended up a little soggy. Overall a great experience and I would definitely return!"

  • "My first time it was disappointing. The only thing that made it decent was the fact that it was happy hour and pizza was half off. The cocktail I ordered wasn't half off at happy hour, which I knew. The cocktail didn't fit the description. I was told that it was the bartenders first night. So it's her first night, which is fine, but the drink didn't fit the description both times that it was made. It had orange when it wasn't mentioned in the description. It said it came with mint. I figured there would be some muddling involved. At the very least a garnish, but no. The pasta dish lacked any depth. It was just buttered pasta. The best thing I had all night was the little cookies they bring with the check. Not sure if I'd go back."

  • "We ate twice at Domenica during our recent three day visit to New Orleans. Being a vegetarian I've always had difficulty eating in New Orleans. There were so many different options it was difficult to choose (note that husband is NOT a vegetarian and loved pizza and pastas). Dinner was so great we came back the next day for lunch. Great staff (one gave me a recommendation for an awesome place for a frozen daiquiri!) - will return every time we are in New Orleans. Note - also one of the coolest restaurants in terms of décor...more like NYC than New Orleans."
