We took advantage of the happy hour specials. Party of 9, 6 pizzas, beer and wine and the bill was just over $100. Can't beat that. Plus it was delicious. Mentioned on open table it was my husband's birthday and 4 in our group were from the UK, but nothing was ever mentoned by the staff. I didn't bring it up in person. Only down side was our waiter seemed less than interested in our group. We had to ask for additional rounds of drinks, asked about popular choices, we had to ask for the dessert menu. Maybe he was mad our group was only ordering happy hour specials but it was only 3:30 and if his attitude had been more pleasant, we would have tipped on what the bill should have been, not what it actually was. I was disappointed with that but otherwise pleased. Plus The Roosevelt was decorated for the holidays so if that's not a plus, I don't know what is!

It was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was cool and chic. The food menu options were different but extremely tasty . I highly recommend the smoke pork pizza. We went during happy hour and the drink and food specials were outstanding. Our server was kind and organized.

I have had several friends insisting I try Dominica. I have a silly aversion to resteraunts that are located in hotels so I have resisted. Dominica is set up so that you don't feel as though you are in a hotel and the food is fantastic. It is very noisy and very lively. This is a New Orleans thing that some folks from out of town have a hard time adjusting to Dominca is the kind of place you want to go to before going to the theater two blocks away or after a hard day of shopping downtown. I wouldn't consider it a place to go for a formal dining experience. Enjoy!

From the get go, you were welcomed with a lively, hoping atmosphere. Definitely felt like it was "the place to be". The service, though the restaurant was super busy, was relaxed. We hit the happy hour special with our group if 8. We left not a morsel on the table. The pulled pork pizza and roasted cauliflower were table favorites. In fact, after the saints game, we went back for seconds. It's a great escape from the traditional French/Cajun food, but still has flavors packed in with every bite!!! Yum!!!

  • Hurry up and wait!

Food was good but not worth the price. Our party was rushed to finish our apps and then made to wait over 1-hour for rest of order. Waitress admitted to working a double shift but it's no excuse for never coming back to check on table until we complained about where our food was. Ultimately some unidentified young woman came to table to offer a free dessert but I said no because we had no more time to extend our stay. They comped the over priced appetizer which was acceptable compensation for the poor service.

I always come to Dominica at least once while on business trip in NOLA. I love the food here. The only little complain I have is that, even though I always book a table, it seems like a long wait. I understand that a table for only one person is not the most profitable one, but it would be nice not to feel like a burden at the reception. Once seated, the service is always great, and the food is just amazing, reason why I will keep coming!

I love food and there are so many amazing restaurants in New Orleans but I always come back to domenica. It is my favorite restaurant in the city. The cauliflower and kale are two of my favorite dishes I have ever had anywhere. And the rigatoni with a spicy tomato says is amazing. The dessert menu isn't great at the moment but it dos change. If they ever add the beignets with espresso shot back to the dessert menu, those are a must get. Such a fantastic restaurant.

I was looking for a place to dine before attending a show at the Saenger. I was hoping to find a location where I could park the car once, dine, then walk to the theatre. This was perfect. The meal was delicious (even though they were sadly out of pate), and the service was very attentive. The waitress was knowlegable about the menu and made some excellent recommendations. Our seat next to the window provided a view of the activity on the street. The only negative was the arrival process. We stood behind a group trying to get a table, thinking we would be next in line. Neither hostess acknowledged out presence, in fact another person walked up and they seated that party before us. Not a very good first impression.

We told our waitress we were in a time crunch to make the 7:30 curtain call at Saenger and she got us in and out in quick serve restaurant style fashion! Highly recommend for pre theatre dining: we parked near the Saenger to be pointed in the correct direction home after the play and Domenica is an easy walk from the Rampart parking lots as well as lickity quick back to theatre after dinner for the show.

Food was excellent, service was sorry. The kitchen burned our order, the waitress didn't tell us and wouldn't come by our table to refill drinks. Making us wonder why it was taking so long. For all the hype, this New Yorker who has lived in Italy was extremely disappointed by Domenica. Noisy, with high ceilings, slow service, and a very short menu which tries its best to be "cutesy" with Italian cuisine. The eggplant appetizer, though non-traditional in its approach and creativity was passable. The Rigatoni, which the menu lists as being in a "spicy" red sauce was almost painfully spicy, and totally unimaginative. Pizza may have been the only strong point for Domenica, with an authentic, thin crust and brick oven preparation. It seemed like most of the patrons were ordering the pizza, perhaps indicating that their repeat customers know what to avoid (the rest of the menu). I am surprised that this place is as busy as it is.

Our waiter was amazing. Seemed I could not make up my mind between all the fabulous options. He explained each one very well, recommended changes based on our choice of the unbelievably amazing cauliflower, broughtu me two wine samples before I chose. Absolutely knew every ingredient in each item offered. Noise level was awful when we arrived, but maybe we got used to. It because it seemed to die down as were there longer. Wonderful location. You can have a meal in a casual setting, walk into the lobby of the Waldorf/ Roosevelt hotel and be surrounded then by opulence. Nice dichotomy. I will be back really soon...also a great choice for Sanger theater,so close!

It was nice to have a little something different while visiting NOLA and have a great Italian meal. We started with an aperitif, which was nicely mixed. Our meal consisted of the Tuscan bale, butternut squash ravioli, and the fennel sausage pizza. All of it was delicious, but the house made ravioli was a treat. In addition to the great food, Adam, our server, was fantastic. He happily answered questions and provided information about our food and food we saw going to other people's tables. Finally, he provided a perfect recommendation for a post-dinner music/cocktail location. While the food was great, he helped make the evening wonderful.

All the reviews we read convinced us to order the cauliflower, but at $18 we wish we had skipped it. We should have known a head of cauliflower was too much to eat if we also wanted to sample other items. Yes, it was tasty, but the crispy kale was better and not nearly as filling. We're glad we saved room for the butternut squash tortelloni--it was FABULOUS.
