    Beginning on 6-1-14, étoile The Restaurant at Domaine Chandon requests a credit card number to hold a reservation for dinner. The cancellation policy goes into effect 24 hours prior to reservation date and time. If the cancellation is made after that point, the charge is $50 per person. Details available upon request.

At étoile, Chef Perry Hoffman marries classic, French-influenced technique with contemporary culinary innovation and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Hoffman works closely with Chandon winemakers to explore the interplay between wine and food, enhancing the experience of both.

Guests may dine a la carte, or explore the ultimate food and wine pairing experience through Chef Hoffman's tasting menus at lunch and dinner.

The restaurant features a Wine Spectator "Best of" Award Wine list and received a Michelin star in the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Michelin Guide after being recommended in 2007, 2008, and 2009.

  • "We drove up to the Napa Valley from San Francisco and had lunch. They offered both a tasting menu and lunch menu. Because of time constraints, we went with the regular lunch menu. Everything was delightful. One of our party had the heirloom tomato salad as an appetizer; another had the oysters, which featured several varieties from various locations. Our main entrées were the beef tenderloin and duck dishes. The beef tenderloin was exceedingly tender and seemed to be a popular dish as many other diners selected that as well. For dessert, the fig cake with heavenly fig ice cream was exceptional."

I had read the menu on line before and knew a la carte was available. We had to ask for the a la carte menu before we got it and quite clearly the expensive tasting menu was being pushed which would have been too much too eat for me."

Server tried really hard, was very nice; but forgot to bring things often and we spent almost three hours on a very extended dinner. Some of this may have been the format of the dinner and not entirely the server's fault. I enjoy a social, not rushed dinner, but three hours is just too long. We were over ready to leave and it just kept going on and on. Felt that I had to visit once, probably will not visit again. Not enjoyable enough for the price."

The portions were generous and we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Our choices included the rabbit (1st course), the brozinni (2nd course), the suckling pig (3rd course) and the molten lava cake (4th course). The good was amazing but a little on the rich side. That being said it was an amazing, romantic meal and I have very high standards when it comes to food."

  • "We dined at Etoile as a special treat for our last night in Napa Valley. It lived up to our expectations. We chose the four course tasting menu, each taking a different option at each stage. My husband's duck pate was superb, more of a parfait than a pate. My burrata cheese starter was very good but I would have liked more roasted peach. My black bass was wonderfully complemented by the lobster sauce. The duck that followed was also a superb dish. My husband's Alaskan halibut followed by the lamb was no less appreciated even the butter beans which he would not normally have liked at all. Desserts were also a delight. We took the wine pairings and that worked really well. The service was friendly, attentive and helpful."

This one far exceeded any of those establishmentsand events.The staff was welcoming and worked together as if they were a happy family of many years, both front and back house. The Chef is a master, freshness is key, and he knows how to blend the herbs & spices to perfection! The atmosphere was peaceful and homey perfect for those of us who can afford the valley lifestyle but don't feel we need to flaunt it.Highly recommended for those of us who choose to patronize the best experiences without feeling as if the tie needs to be a noose and feel no need to impress the outside world. Slowly over 3 hours with great food and excellent wine. Service was superb and the outdoor seating a terrific backdrop for the occasion. I had duck while my wife had lamb as main courses ... Yummy !!!! This is an experience, not just dinner."

Hats off to Noah and the food running staff there knowledge and passion for every dish was unparalleled ! It seemed as if we had 10 servers and it was delightful getting to know them all by name! Juan, Jaime,John,,Josh and our lead server Scott we're amazing at describing our dishes and suggesting wines for us to enjoy. We even got a visit at the end of our meal from sous chef Jarrod. All in all Chef Perry Hoffman and his staff are doing an incredible job carving out a niche as one of the absolute best restaurants in the Napa Valley! This is a must see when visiting wine country"

  • "We had an amazing lunch at Etoile this past weekend! We were in town for a bachelorette party and I had been to Etoile before and knew we had to go back. It did not disappoint! Josh, our waiter, was great! We ordered some great bottles of rose and it was one of our favorite meals in Napa. It is an amazing place to eat outside and take in the amazing scenery at Domaine Chandon. Highlights included the octopus, tuna salad, and the farafelle pasta - all amazing! Highly recommend this place and it is a must while in Napa!"

  • "We had a magnificent lunch here in 2013. Were startled to return in 2014 to find huge portions (we ate at Etoile 2x on this trip, the first for dinner two nites ago). Dishes identical to dinner were supersized at lunch, but a bit sloppier, less balanced. The egg/caviar was a travesty of too much pickled onions. Duck liver dish got fussier but less pleasing. Octopus was a mishmash that needed paring down. Pork terrine was tasty but again, onion agrodulce was twice the amount needed. Beef rib-eye was larger than dinner's portion, not as tasty, and the marrow croutons were just melted fat with breading. The flavors were good but there was just too much going on, with no restraint--what I call Food Network cooking."

Using CA quality ingredients and French-style discipline, Chef Perry Hoffman's food is exquisitely balanced, beautifully presented, and hands-down the best food since La Bourgogne/SF closed up in the '80's. If you love oversized portions, sloppy sauces, oversalted food with heavy-handed seasoning, then DO NOT come here. There are many places in the Wine Cty you will love--but we will be at Etoile, because it is the best bargain we've found. My spouse admits it's even better than La Folie, and considering La Folie gives you 4x the amount of food Etoile does, from him there is no greater praise. For me, let's just say I don't like rabbit-but I love Etoile's version!"

The experience was a nice leisurely meal in a beautiful setting. Our server let us know when we ordered the tasting menu that it takes 2-2 1/2 hours which ended up being a very enjoyable pace. Not only was the food OUTSTANDING, the whole experience was; the service, the setting, the colors on the plate, the plates themselves which fit each different course. Each course was an artistic blend of flavors. I highly recommend Etoile!!"

We picked Etoile as it was one of the places recommended by the chef of French Laundry. We loved it. I ordered a tomato salad that had some kind of home made mozzarella cheese, so fresh, so delicious. My main dish was the lamb out of the lunch menu and it was outstanding. Portions are enough, not too small, not large. We sat outside and the waiters were so nice setting up umbrellas to be sure we were in the shade. I had one of their wines the Pinot Noir and it went so well with the lamb. My friends loved the sparkling wine they had with their food. I will go back every time I visit Napa. Great service, ambience & food!!!"
