Galen and Brigette have contributed enormously to our neighborhood, not only by their mission, but also by an ever changing menu of delicious, healthy and local food. No wonder the place is always crowded with folks not only locals, but from all over Baltimore. We are privileged to live nearby.

The food was quite good and the wine selection was extensive. Our waiter had good suggestions, but had an impatient attitude. The restaurant was very crowded and loud. It wasn't so great for conversation and the staff was running around and all seemed stressed out. Tables were too close together--while a woman was putting on her coat, the sleeve slapped me in the head; she wasn't aware of it. And the wait staff hurried past us on their way to other patrons. I have loved the Dogwood in the past, but this was just way too agitating to enjoy.

Very fine overall dining experience in the fashion of the farm to table. The food was fresh and good and the service was very good. The place was mobbed and is noisy so you might want to try somewhere else if you want quiet but overall we were extremely happy with our dining experience. It is nice that there are several vegetarian/vegan choices on the menu.

This eclectic restaurant was quite different than had expected. Although the menu is limited in size, the variations are large. There was a decent amount of seafood, meatless and beef meals. The wine list was decent. The service was OUTSTANDING. The manager must have walked the floor in every spare second. I believe he visited our table 3 times. The trout, salmon and mahi mahi dishes (at this time) were great. Wish they had a larger dessert menu, but the chocolate layer cake was fantastic.

Food was imaginative & delicious. Service was spotty. Waiter was friendly, but it took 1/2 hour for the entrees to arrive. No offer of tea or coffee with dessert. Had to track waiter down to get dessert & it took over 10 minutes to get our check after we asked for it. I'd go back for the food, but the service needs serious improvement. improvement.

This is a fantastic restaurant. Great variety from which to choose; chef is creative without being over the top. Presentations are artful, and food is delicious. Local farm-to-table emphasis adds to appeal. It really is a gem, with gret food at great prices.

We had a lovely time. The waiter was attentive but not pushy, we stayed for three hours enjoying 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and two bottles of wine between the 4 of us. The guys both had great looking burgers and we ladies had the sweet potato/squash curry and it was delicious both that night and the little bit I brought home.

The portions are huge and the menu is a bit heavy, so we usually enjoy Dogwood mostly in the winter. Plus the space is a little odd: semi-below ground making it a bit dark with decor that is a little artsy and slightly disjointed. But on this last visit out of 4 courses (apps and entrees for two people) only one was good. Either the food has really slid downhill or we hit a REALLY off night. Won't be going back soon.

My wife and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was very good, and different than what you typically see at restaurants. The chef was very creative with his menu, but not so creative that we didn't know what we were eating. The list of drinks was very extensive, I had a Vanilla Porter, and the glass was dusted with chocolate. It was evident that the staff of Dogwood take pride in what they do and what they serve. Service was very good, they knew when we needed some assistance, and the rest of the time they left us alone. Highly recommend this place.

This is my third time at Dogwood, and unfortunately the food wasn't quite as good as before. Service was great, though. When we mentioned that one food item was bland, our waiter took it back to the kitchen to try it. He came back, reported they were working to fix it, and comped the item. The rest of our food was very good. Love that the Dogwood is very vegetarian friendly.

Dogwood is truly a gem, not just a neighborhood gem. The menu is varied and interesting, the food is what you would expect from a four star restaurant and the prices are reasonable. I am never disappointed when I dine there. My husband I celebrated Valentine's Day there (2 days later) amid a full house which added a special note of being in an "in place." Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was very busy and the servers were overwhelmed. Our server was very nice and apologetic about the wait and the rush, we were not in a hurry so we asked that he just take his time and come back to us. Unfortunately we waited a very long time for drinks and when the meal came, the order was quite wrong. We were kindly given a bowl of crab soup as we waited for the corrected order. All in all the food was delicious and we will be back - perhaps earlier in the evening or on a week night instead.

We had a great meal at the festive Dogwood Restaurant. The food is locally sourced and the staff is knowledgeable, if a bit overworked. The entrees were heavy on fish, which is unusual for the neighborhood and well-received, and the wine list was extensive.

You won't ever go wrong at Dogwood, but because the menu changes all the time, it is difficult to recommend dishes. We had the brisket (great!) The salmon (good, but the accompanying spagetti squash was not all that). We definitely thought our last meal there in the fall was much better.

The food was good, though expensive. There seemed to be an interesting selection to choose from. The service was good, but got spotty as the night went on. Our table was uncomfortable and backed right up to the server's area. There shouldn't be a table placed there. There were very few options for seating for 2.

Quite by accident, we we'd made our reservation for Baltimore Restaurant Week. Although we honestly would not have chosen to go to Dogwood at that time (particularly since we had a Groupon coupon to use and were not advised when making the Open Table reservation that we could not use it on that date), we all agreed that it was the best Restaurant Week meal we ever had. We shall certainly go back again (at a time other than Restaurant Week) to use the Groupon deal.

It's often kind of noisy, but the energy level can be contagious. Don't expect atmosphere... Dogwood is essentially in a basement. Don't miss the free parking off the alley in the back.
