A word from Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.r />

The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

  • "MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK MY PARENTS TO DOCKSIDE RESTAURANT AND WE SAT ON THIER DECK. IT IS NOT ONLY THE MOST STUNNING VIEW RIGHT ON THE INLET BUT VERY INVITING INDEED. THEN WHAT PROCEEDED WAS MAGICAL... THE FOOD WAS BEYOND AMAZING AND IT HAS THE BEST SQUID I HAVE EVERY HAD AND THE BEST CEASAR SALAD I HAVE TASTED BESIDES MY FATHER'S HOMEMADE ONE. OUR WAITER PATRICK Q WAS VERY HELPFUL TOO. OH YEAH, WE HAD SOME CHAMPAGNE AND IT WAS A PERFECT WAY TO END OUR MEAL"

  • "Booking advised. Very convenient to book online, but need to call if specific seating (like patio dining) is desired. Well-mannered staffs, very good service. Food is very good too. Ambiance is just excellent. An ideal way to start a day of touring the Granville Island."

  • "We were a large party and they were very accommodating when we had an extra 2 guests added at the last minute. Food was excellent and the waiter was very attentive."

  • "Beautiful location and great food to go with the atmosphere. This time was our anniversary dinner and pre-Arts Club event. A great way to start the night."

  • "Dinner was great. View was great. Service was good but too fast. Halibut and mussels were great."

  • "Dockside had always been a favorite thanks to the great views and it's never really busy. Likely it's always easy to get in because the food isn't that great. Appies were tasty but everyone's mains were 'OK'; good presentation but ok/on the verge of not great tasting mains. In a city with great food, it's regretful this restaurant doesn't have better tasting mains. We will continue to return thanks to the views and locale, but definitely not the food."

  • "Great place to spend a summer evening in Vancouver!"

  • "we had a birthday dinner party for 5, excellen food and a chatty but pleasant waiter. Food was excellent, wine list is limited and nothing much under the $50 per bottle range which is a little steep, perhaps they could offer a house wine in the $30 range? great views over the water and, apart from a boisterous private party inside, the noise level wasn't bad"

  • "Can't say enough good things about this place. My first time here (as well as the other 5 in our party) and the service + food were on-point. Our server, Patrick, was attentive and entertaining - 2 qualities that are difficult to find these days in a busy restaurant. We ordered the flatbread & spring rolls with mango sauce for appetizers and were licking the plates clean. For dinner we ordered: Halibut, Mushroom Ravioli, Smoked Salmon Penne, Shrimp & Crab Cakes, Panzanella Salad - there was nothing left of anything, all of the food was quality. It was also my husband's birthday and the server did a great job of acknowledging that."

  • "Restaurant is very pretty with a spectacular view of the harbor and Vancouver in the distance. However, food was average, not great. Waiter was fine but though I booked in advance and wrote I had a birthday in the notes, plus told the hostess, no dessert was offered on nor was a candle was brought on the dessert we purchased. This was a special birthday dinner for my son so that was disappointing. I didn't expect the food to be great at a place that I knew was mostly about the view (and is touristy) but I was hoping for better. Going for drinks and to look at the view is probably a better idea."

  • "Have never been disappointed by the quality of food. Menu always have something for everyone. Relatively frequent change of menu. Good microbrew beer. Adequate selection of wine. Very pleasant dinning room without the feel of overcrowded or distraction."

  • "Went here for my one year anniversary, was surprised to see the sights this restaurant has to offer. Was seated right away and the waitress gave me amazing service. Will come again when a special occasion comes up!"

  • "When we booked this restaurant we were asked to note if it was a special occasion. It was our 25th anniversary and we were married in front of the hotel, which is why we booked this restaurant. Now we are wondering why they ask for this information and do not acknowledge your special occasion. Great food and setting."

  • "In the past, we've found the service here to be excellent. This time it was quite lackadaisical. Nonetheless, we'd return. The food was good and the young kids with us were very pleased with both the food and coloring book/crayons provided. Clean and with a great view."

  • "My boyfriend and I have been coming to this restaurant for about 5 yrs now. We come on every special occasion and get so excited. We were so dissapointed on our last visit we will probably never come back....the food was HORRIBLE it tasted like buffet food, everything was cold and tasteless. He had the duck and I had the cioppino both $34 meals. The waiter never once came up & asked how everything was, then complained when we were paying how busy he was. Oh well try to something new I suppose!!!"

  • "The outdoor patio is fabulous. As usual I found the food to be underwhelming. It it wasn't for the ambience and location I might pass on the restaurant. The food is ok and of the several items I have had the Cobb salad is the one that stands out most. This time I had the shrimp on a croissant and it was tasteless. The feeling was a bit on the watery side and the dressing was tasteless. Unexceptional and way overpriced for the quality of the food. I guess you are paying for the decor and ambience."

  • "The roasted beet and arugula salad was nicely presented but seemed overpriced considering the tiny amount of beet it actually contained. My husband enjoyed his rather small serving of grilled ling cod with quinoa and I was satisfied with the fish papardelle carbonara, though it too seemed overpriced for a pasta dish. An exuberant table nearby raised the noise level to energetic, but our server was exceptionally pleasant and you really can't beat the view from Dockside on a sunny summer evening."

  • "Dockside restaurant patio has a spectacular view both during the day and at nighttime. Some of the indoor tables also have the same view but the ambience isn't the same. The food is good at lunch and brunch, with plenty of selection for all palates. The service we received at lunch was friendly but not very efficient. We ordered bread but had to ask for side plates and I had to remind our server twice that I had ordered coffee. I will be dining at Dockside again on Sunday with a different group of friends."

  • "We were two ladies enjoying lunch. The staff were efficient and friendly yet discreet enough to allow my friend and me to chatter away without feeling interrupted by the service. In spite of each of us only having one course, there was no pressure on us to move on and we felt that we could easily have spent the whole sunny afternoon there. The food was fresh, tasty and satisfying. Needless to say, the view on the patio was beautiful. We cannot fault the relaxed and gentle charm of the whole experience. Separate from the food, just walking into the hotel lobby and enjoying the lovely decor of the hotel and restaurant sets the tone for the excellent experience to follow."

  • "Finally got to try this incredibly atmospheric patio. My parents where staying at the Granville island hotel and we were late for my original plans so I walked downstairs and took a look at dockside. With a martini in hand, I sat down and took stock of one of the best views in town. I couldn't leave. Menu was varied the food was excellent and the service was spot on."

  • "3 of us celebrating birthday. Great view. Each ordered drink & seafood appetizer. Taste okay. Main course: prime ribs and rack of lamb. Also got another appetizer, crab cakes. Both entrees & crab cakes very good, other than little overcooked meat. They never refilled our water. Sorbet for dessert, pretty good, then got the bill. We have used entertainment coupon (can reduce up to $24 for one entrée if you buy another one). They applied it on $16 crab cakes, we ask server we have ordered 2 entrée please change it, he was not willing to. So in the end we just paid less tips. Very disappointing end. Also, my mom wanted chocolate ice cream, they say none, then we saw the next table was eating it. The server say oh guess they ran out of vanilla!"

  • "We have been regular summer diners at Dockside but this was our first visit this year. From the point of view of its location and ambience, the Dockside patio is fabulous and the service is great. However, the menu offered on BC Day was limited and boring. I ordered the Marine Cobb salad and it was uninspired. The prawns were cooked with what tasted like a commercial BBQ sauce. My wife had the omelette and described it as akin to airline food. Our three-year-old had chicken strips and fries which were pretty good. My wife loves cheesecake and was disappointed in the Dockside's version. For me, the only thing that I thoroughly enjoyed was the Brown Ale—the Brewmaster continues to excel."

  • "Frankly we do not expect a wonderful place to have a brunch. However there are a excellent restaurant to have a breakfast with a beautiful mind. we are satisfied with the fresh air, nice dishes, and service of the staff during the time."

  • "Booked a Sunday brunch for 2 on a sunny & warm Aug. 3. The venue has a spectacular view of the False Creek marina. Although our table was inside the restaurant because we were seated right at the patio doors which were open, it felt like we were outside. Service was attentive without being intrusive. My table-mate dropped her fork and a server (not ours) without prompting came by quickly with a replacement. Food was excellent. Had the Marine Cobb Salad which came with 3 tasty, marinated prawns, 3 slices of smoked salad, cherry tomatoes, a wedge of butter lettuce with a yogurt dressing, one perfectly cooked hard boiled egg and a small scoop of blue cheese spread. My table mate had a smoked salmon benedict which looked equally tasty."

  • "Stunning location with a great view not just in the daytime but spectacular at dusk and after dark. Many interesting choices on the menu, great presentation and very good service. Fabulous seafood chowder! Everyone in our party of 5 was more than pleased. Really enjoyed the un-pasta made with zucchini ribbons and delicious sauce. Great for late evening dinner. Will definitely return."

  • "Food was good, restaurant was lovely, but what you really come here for is the view of the water and the Vancouver skyline. Great place for drinks and chilling out especially in the summer. Also a great place to bring guests from out of town."

  • "This was a celebration for a Birthday. We had not attended for several years. While the wine list was fairly extensive, there was almost nothing below $50.00 a bottle, a little steep we thought. So we settled on cocktails instead. The food was very very good! The tenderloin melted in my mouth, and the rest of the guests at our table were similarly impressed. My only suggestion would be to have a small selection of wines in the $30.00 range and perhaps a few more salad choices."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at Dockside very much - the food and the service were very good and the setting is pretty unbeatable. They have a good wine list of local wines, which we found a bit overpriced in general, but still enjoyed."

  • "Dockside hits all the marks again. For a pre-Theatre meal - this time - it was a great meal delivered on the schedule we wanted (we had a couple of hours and didn't want our meal too quickly) and the food was excellent. Tuna, Squid and Mussels appies were all excellent, well proportioned and very flavourful. Sablefish and prime rib were both excellent. Wine list has enough breadth to allow for quality throughout at various price ranges and for craft beer lovers, in-house beer selection is excellent. Dockside works for a full on formal dinner or for a quicker bit in their lounge or out on the deck."

  • "Met up with friends for drinks and appies last week on the patio. Had made resos, plenty of seats free when we got there (6pm) and our food was very tasty. Unfortunately though, it seemed as though our server couldn't get us out of there fast enough and kept coming by our table (we had finished eating, but still had drinks to finish) to see if we'd settled up. After the 3rd pass or so, we felt guilty and so I pulled out my wallet, intending to place my visa in the bill folder. Well, he saw me do that from across the patio and immediately came back to us and said he would be right back with the card reader. Didn't ask if we wanted any more drinks or anything. Lovely patio, but we certainly didn't feel very welcome to stay and enjoy it!"
