A word from Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The Dockside Restaurant offers superbly prepared classic dishes in a setting like no other. Located on the waterfront where Granville Island faces the city, guests can enjoy panoramic views across False Creek to the world-famous cityscape of Yaletown and beyond to the mountains of the North Shore.r />

The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

Diner Reviews
  • "We thought we were going to a "Brewing" restaurant, but found they didn't have any local brews on tap. We were slightly disappointed to find out they were out of their IPA, and sold out of the halibut. The 2 menu items we were hoping to get.. It was a nice restaurant with a great view. All in all, we had a good experience and good meals."

  • "We enjoyed our evening immensely and anticipate more visits in the future."

  • "Servers were very considerate of food limitations and provided special orders to meet dietary needs. Food was fresh and delightful, and the view of the water wonderful on a sunny afternoon."

  • "There are better places to eat I terms of food, however the view is beautiful. The freshly brewed beer is good."

  • "Due to the fact that we had to sit in the bar section, the noise level was quite high, we could hardly hear each other speak. Great service from Brian as usual and food was excellent."

  • "Unfortunately the dining room is closed for repair. They informed us by phone ahead of time and we have to dine at the lounge. We still have a table with a view but nothing like the dining room. The squid appy is very good and the pizza crust is thin and crispy. The fish and chips are good. The menu is not too innovative but the location is great."

  • "The restaurant became extremely cold after our appetizer. Our main course, rack of lamb, was delicious but difficult to finish eating because it, too, became ice cold. We asked for the heat to be turned on, but instead, were provided blankets. This didn't make the lamb any nicer to eat. As well, we wish restaurants would give a closing time, as opposed to a kitchen-closing time. After 10:00 P.M., we began feeling unwelcome, even though we had been told that,as long as you ordered food prior to ten, we would be welcome to stay as long as we needed. The evening held potential, but due to very cold conditions, ended a disappointment."

  • "We had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and they were great. Must have been one of the best we have had. Service was excellent too."

  • "I thought perhaps one of the local wealthy retirement homes was on a field trip! There was almost no one under the age of 60 in there. However, it would still be a nice romantic dinner spot. Definitely not a spot to go with a rowdy/noisy bunch of people. The food was incredible. The service was excellent. The view spectacular. The menu pricing is not for the faint of heart or the light of wallet. And if you like your Caesars spicy, this is the drink to order."

  • "We enjoyed ourselves very much, as we always do. We always get such exceptional service from Brian, I wish more servers were like him. We don't even have to ask for our drinks now, they just appear at the table a minute after we sit down. My favorite place to dine."

  • "My husband and I were staying at the Granville Island Hotel. We dined here very often: we tried the breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert menu. Everything was delicious! The staff was very accommodating regarding our dietary restrictions. In addition to the great food, the views of the city and boats were breathtaking! Enjoyed every meal! I must try when in Vancouver!"

  • "We go here to eat and get great service weekly. There is no need to change our routine. Our server Brian gave us great service and he knows what our drink order is going to be by now. He is more like a friend than a server."

  • "The Dockside has become our new favourite restaurant since Aqua Riva closed its doors. We are always greeted warmly, the wait staff are attentive but unobtrusive, and the food is delicious. On Valentine's Day, our waiter recognized us and even remembered the occasion we had celebrated there last year. Adding to the ambiance is the gorgeous and ever-changing view of False Creek--very romantic! We recommend this restaurant to visitors and locals!"

  • "The fact that this was the only restaurant in town with reservation slots available for Valentine's day should have been a hint. As soon as we sat down and asked for the regular menu (instead of the Valentine's special), we were give an awkward speech about how they normally wouldn't do this, but they're doing us a special favour. The food was bland, ambiance felt like a hotel lobby (which it was) and service was awkward. Oh yea, and it was insanely overpriced. Never going back."

  • "My wife and I went for Valentines Day. Three appie choices and two mains. They modified as necessary for my gluten allergy. They had a set three course menu which was wonderful. The location is terrific. Window side tables have a view of the docks and False Creek."

  • "We live in the neighbourhood of this restaurant gem and it has been a go-to everytime we have out-of-town guests. The food is wonderful and the service is awesome. And for a restaurant with such great "adult" food, they also have a great kids menu. The service is always outstanding. We'll be coming back time and time again, for sure!"

  • "We sat in the lounge for our dinner at the Dockside this time around as the main dining room was reserved for a wedding. The atmosphere was warm and cozy on a cold winter night. The food was well prepared as usual and delicious and the service friendly and attentive. Dockside is always a great spot with the views, service and food at a fair price. We will be back!"

  • "One tends to forget about the Dockside Restaurant with so many "hot" places in the Vancouver area. We arrived early to watch the sunset while enjoying a drink before dinner. I was reminded that we are lucky to live in such a spectacular city where you can see sailboats, the Aquabus ferries, West End towers reflecting the golden sun and be "in the heart" of the city and yet tucked away in a corner of Granville Island. I had crab & shrimp cakes as my main course and was more than satisfied. Our friends' choices - Caesar salad, steelhead salmon, and rabbit were also pronounced superb. We opted for the dessert sampler for two and felt this was the best choice as it gave us a taste of more than one of the delicious options on the menu."

  • "$28 'dine out' menu totally rocked. Window table, fantastic view of city lights. Loved the savory roasted beet w/ goat cheese starter. The main dish: grilled cod w/ coconut lime curry w/ crispy sushi rice - perfectly cooked, full of flavour - so delish! Dessert: 3 lemon filled canolli w/ pistachio in milk chocolate sauce w/ raspberries was lemony & the perfect ending to the meal. Great value also was the 3 tasting wines for only $12 extra. Our French waiter was professional, personable & provided just the right amount of attention. Will definitely return. A great find! My dining partner loved his meal also - especially the triple chocolate praline ice cream cookie sandwich w/ caramel banana which he had for dessert. Great dining experience!"

  • "Had a special get away with my wife including a very romantic dinner here. The food was superb and the service was beyond excellent with at least three people including the waiter attending to us. Did I mention the food? Wow! Dockside remains one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver."

  • "Most of the dishes on the Dine Out Menu were presented well but often seasoned badly, either with too much or too little salt; there was not a lot of nuance in the flavour. The lemon-pistachio cannoli, in particular, lacked the pistachio flavour, with the lemon rather overpowering the rest of the pastry. Service was fine, but perhaps a bit aggressive."

  • "Dockside restaurant has a great view .I enjoyed my dinner,we did the dine out menu.Service was friendly and efficient.Great place to go in the summertime also with the dining terrace. Great place to bring out of town guests."

  • "The restaurant is beautifully appointed and in a lovely location on False Creek. Very elegant but not stuffy ambience. Also the staff (our server and hostess ) is excellent. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the food, especially, for the prices. My grilled salmon arrived without the vegetables. When I pointed that out our server eventually brought the asparagus on a separate plate but it was hopelessly over grilled. The salmon itself was OK but not noteworthy in any way. On the other hand the dessert (lemon meringue tart) was delicious and beautifully presented."

  • "We greeted and seated right away, server was friendly, prompt and attentive. Love the fish entree and dessert (tart pistashio canolis) Always a great place to enjoy the view and food."

  • "The current Dine Out Vancouver menu has restored my faith in Dockside. I enjoyed the butternut squash-filled pasta appetizer, the pork belly main and the cannoli dessert. My husband was less enthusiastic about his beet salad (which featured the tiniest beet imaginable) and ling cod main (which I thought was pretty good), but enjoyed the cookie sandwich dessert. Portions were quite small but just about right for me. Service was pleasant, and the view on a clear night was spectacular."
