  • Very impressed with DOCG

DOCG was outstanding in every way. The knowledgeable staff was friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Their suggestions were on point, and our dinners were incredible. We started with the cheese and charcuterie, then each had salad. For dinner I had the filet special with shortrib ravioli, both of which were cooked to perfection. For dessert we took our server's suggestion that we try the mint chocolate chip gelato and the caramel budino, both of which are worth the trip to DOCG alone. The mint was REAL mint, and the budino was a delectable mix of salty and sweet. On top of the excellent food, DOCG is affordable. They have a good mix of wines at all price points, and the food is much less expensive than you'd expect in Vegas.

Our experience at D.O.C.G. was really only O.K. We had very good service but the food was only ok. My husband ordered the gnocchi, our waiter explained to us that it was gonna be a little different because it was a Sicilan version of gnocchi. It was ok but it had and undercooked texture, we've never had Sicilan gnocchi so we don't know if it was supposed to be that way. I had the ravioli dish; and again, it was ok. The two dishes that we throughly enjoyed were the calamari and the panna cotta. I would give this place a second chance, but my husband would not.

Very disapponting. Veggie appetizer was soggy bland mush (brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and cippolini onions) calamari unimpressive. Portions were horrible some dishes too small others too large. Had to wait over 30 mins btwn app and entre. Raviolini was tragically without flavor.

I went with my 2 roommates. We got 2 bottles of great champagne and split several items: ceasar salad, margarita pizza, ahi tuna carpaccio, and the pasta special of the day: truffle linguine (it was outstanding). The portions were small and the prices a tad high for portion size, but it's Vegas and we didn't want to over indulge before hitting the dance floor. We'd go there again!

We had only desert but it was a winner. They server Illy coffee so that is tops too. Server was great considering it was quite busy, cramped and there were 2 really rude patrons next to us. They complaining about the prices. Unreal, get the eff out of Las Vegas already! Food is nice and cheap in Henderson I am sure. Server made 2 really good suggestions as well. Better have reservations!

Pastas were fantastic - wonderful flavors and highly recommend the duck pasta. The pizza was also amazing - great crust. App portions were generous. I would return.

  • DOCG was a big disappointment.
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 3/30/2011
DOCG was a big disappointment. After watching Scott Conant critique other chefs on the Food Network, I was expecting this restaurant to be excellent in all respects. The service was good but everything else was lousy. My appetizer was the White Bean Soup, which was rather ordinary. I didn't see or taste any "parmigiano". It was similar to what I could get from a can at the supermarket. I ordered the scallops for my main course and this was the real disappointment of the evening. The salmoriglio was totally absent. The only flavor I tasted was salt, and there was way too much of it. I didn't taste any of the lemon, garlic, or other flavors associated with salmoriglio. Also, the scallops were overcooked as was my friend's beef filet.

Totally solid. Fulfilled my expectations completely. Great wine, great meat & cheese offerings, fantastic pastas. Very loud music, but that's sorta the Cosmopolitan in general. Service was a little over the top, a little too much attention. Didn't try the Pizza, but the food was so solid and so professionally prepared that I'd bet it's great as well.

This was our first time dining at DOCG and we were NOT disappointed. We started with the salumi sampler which included a choice of 2 cheeses, 3 meats and 3 antipasto sides (marinated mushrooms, olives, etc.) The portion was huge and it was all delicious. Then it was onto the prawns and lentils. The prawns were head-on and cooked perfectly. The lentils were creamy and rich. Finally, we split the veal raviolini stuffed with veal in a broth/sage sauce. Talk about creamy little pillow of heaven. Finally we finishe with a salted carmel pudding -- savor, sweet and all around yummy. We will be retuning and have been told that DOCG's sister restaurant, Scarpetta, is equally as equisite.

Layed out poorly and overbooked. The food was "ok", nothing exceptional. The service was better than expected, but they were still very busy and unable to give us too much attention. The Manager was nice, he gave us complimentary champagne for having to wait 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. Overall, we probably won't go back, well, at least not on a weekend anyway.
