  • "Oysters Rockefeller were soup in a shell, calamari was okay not as tender as it should be. Fish and chips were average, but the swordfish was overdone, dry and tasteless. Best part of the Baked Stuffed Shrimp was the crabmeat stuffing. Rice should be served as an option to potatoes, which were cold and solidified."

  • "Doc - even with reservations we waited 30 minutes. Cramped waiting area standing right next to people eating their meals. Very nice hostesses. Waitress- not kid friendly, my 20 month old daughter kept on saying hi to her and she ignored her. ] Apart from the lack of interaction skills- she brought our food, picked up our plates and gave us our bill. Oysters were pretty good for central PA."

  • "Our service was terrible from the minute we walked in the door and were seated in a room of 2 large groups (we were a family of 4). We were told that the night before had been quite busy and that they were out of many menu selections. I asked for the oyster menu and there were only 2 kinds available. My son ordered a burger and they were out of burger meat and had to send a chef to pick up more. We were told this after waiting for almost an hour to get our entrees (since being seated). Our server was non-existent. Our appetizer dishes sat on our table.....the food, once it came was poorly prepared. Terrible service, mediocre food....there are better places in the area to dine."

  • "We always enjoy Doc's. Usually my girlfriend makes all the arrangements but as part of a valentine's day surprise I did it online through open table. Very easy to do. Here's the thing, and guys pay attention! If you are "romantically challenged" as I am, after I made the reservation, open table asked if I wanted flowers sent to our table(there is a link to follow to a site called flowerpetal) I picked out the flowers and the address for the restaurant and reservation time were already filled in for me. We showed up for dinner and the flowers were waiting on our table. My girlfriend was shocked and thrilled. So guys try this out next valentine's day. She will love it and it's super simple. The staff at Doc's are awesome."

The food was outstanding and our server Brandon (I believe that was his name) was extremely energetic and knowledgeable.   • "There aren't too many seafood restaurants in the NE Pennsylvania area, but Doc Magrogan's is a gem. I hit there several times a year when I am in the Montage Mt. area. The fish is always fresh and well prepared. Substitutions are never an issue (they put Old Bey Spice on some of the fish and fries and it is too strong for me, but they are always willing to leave it off). My brother always has the oysters and raves about them. I love their grilled scallops and swordfish which are always cooked to perfection. Lunch seems to be a bit more subdued, but diner time can be a bit loud when the place is packed (which is often). Definitely make a reservation."

Everyone else that I went with sent food back to the kitchen after they finally got it. The restaurant was not busy, but the service was terribly slow. There were many upset customers that night."
