Doc Crow's Southern Smokehouse & Raw Bar...before Taylor SwiftI have been to Doc Crow's several times before with all good experiences. My daughter and I went before Taylor Swift. We had a reservation and were a bit early but were seated. Prompt service, great food, and great time...as always. We will return.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBest tasting ribs I can rememberWe were in town for the Derby, we arrived early, they were packed, told us they would call. We went bar hopping for an hour or so and sure enough, they called a bit earlier than our reservation time and we got right in. The service was very good and the ribs were fabulous - all in our party were very pleased with what they ordered.
Highly recommend - we will return!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDerby week a DocsGot there a little late, hostess was very personable, told us no problem and seated us immediately. Food was great, and service was good. Definitely would recommend.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and atmospherePleasantly surprised! Ribs and cheesy grits! Does it get any better than that? Quick, too. We had a reservation. They took us as soon as we walked in. We were in and out in under an hour. Loved checking out the artwork, also.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food reasonable pricesHad guests in from out of town. They loved the food.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy wife and I went there forMy wife and I went there for a date night and had a great experience. We did four apps (Oysters Rockefeller, Fried Green Tomatoes, Brisket Tacos and Smoked Wings). Everything was exceptional, although I'd skip the tomatoes next time and try to BBQ nachos instead. The waiter recommended an Elijah Craig bourbon that was special ordered for Doc Crow's, and it was a solid choice. The only thing that could have been better was the atmosphere for a "date". We were seated up front near the bar, and it was very crowded, loud, and we sat on high tables. I would have rather been seated in the back. Will request that next time we visit!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything our group had wasEverything our group had was excellent. Our waiter did not miss a beat4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth Every Penny. The menu provides for all types of appetites. We enjoyed the appetizer plate with the various meats. Plenty for two people. The oysters were a bit pricey, but well worth the money. The wine and bourbon list is unending.
A very nice place but more for special occasions than casual dining. Not super expensive, but an average per person meal with alcoholic beverage will run $45-50. Worth it though.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spotGreat spot for drinks and food! lively patrons, fun bar scene, perfect location near the Yum Center for pre- or post- game/concert goodies. LOVE the mussels, great shrimp and grits too. Our party thought the ribs were tasty but a bit dry . . .4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, extensive listGreat food, extensive list of top shelf bourbons and good service4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMwe sat right in front of thewe sat right in front of the kitchen, which wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. While we did have a noiser experience, we also got to see the hustle & bustle of the kitchen staff. They appear to be a very hard working & efficient group all the way around. Kudos to the back of the house. Our waitress Mara remembered my sister & brother-in-law from their last visit and provided exceptional service thru out the evening. While my sis + brother will certainly return, my daughter & I probably won't: we're just visiting from Savannah GA ! We had a great time !4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time diningThis was our first time dining at Doc's. First of all the place is beautiful and the atmosphere is very inviting. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my boyfriend had the beef brisket with baked beans. I highly recommend both. (Especially the beans...so good!)
We plan on bringing our family to the restaurant later this month and can't wait to come back!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA Louisville Gem!We absolutely enjoyed this gem of a restaurant. There was lots to choose from on their menu. Our server and service was excellent and we loved our food selection. The only con was the Oysters Rockefeller, which tasted excellent, but the portion was way too small for the price we paid. Other than that, we give this restaurant 5 stars!!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with a friend to DocI went with a friend to Doc Crow's for the first time and really enjoyed it. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. Service was a little slow, but they were very busy. We were seated right across from the front door so I didn't get to see much of the restaurant but I would definitely go back again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit.... Food and serviceFirst visit.... Food and service were excellent. Menu was extensive. Our table was adjacent to the kitchen and server pickup, which I wasn't wild about. Overall was pleased with experience and will definitely go back.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was prepared nicelyEverything was prepared nicely and was delicious. The atmosphere, staff, menu, cocktails and prices were excellent! We will return!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMStart to finish a fantastic dinner! Our dinner experience was wonderful. We arrived, right on time for our reservation & the restaurant was packed with ~40 people waiting for a table. I gave the hostess our name and we were immediately seated. Our waitress, was friendly, attentitve and gave great recommendations (serving size and selections), got the order perfectly, and checked up on us, and even ran my credit card Before she went to take the order on the table of 14 that arrived while we were finishing up. The food was outstanding -- we had the crabcake appetizer which was amazing and I had the shrimp & grits and my husband had the babyback ribs. It was a perfect b-day celebration for my husband!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for dinner on MarchWent there for dinner on March 16 at 5:00pm. Overall things were fine, with the exception of the BBQ. My wife had the ribs and they were dried out. Have ate at many dry rub BBQ restaurants and their ribs were dry. I had the Fried Pork Chops and they were dry as well. Appeared to have been cooked to long, the Gravy on the made them bearable. We are assuming that this was an off night. We plan on going back and trying again.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMStaff was efficient and friendly.Staff was efficient and friendly. Food was great!
