  • "Great food, ok service! Pulled pork, cheesy shrimp grits & crab cakes were all amazing! I went on a Friday & took friends back on Sunday."

  • "Had a superb smoked brisket sandwich there last Friday. Great setting and service. Incredible bourbon selection. Wish I'd had time to enjoy a few sips. "

  • "2nd time at Doc Crows, if I lived closer I would be a regular! Their brisket just melts in your mouth, mashed potatoes are REAL potatoes! Husband and son said Mac n cheese was awesome. Awesome atmosphere!!! Love love love it!"

  • "Love Doc Crow's! Always excellent food and generous portions. The beef brisket tacos are my favorite, along with the fried green tomatoes and sweet potato fries. Perfect for a pre-concert meal or girls' night out."

  • "Love this place. Near the Humana Play Festivial, it is a gem of a Southern restaurant. Seafood gumbo was thick and rich and brimming with flavor. Special care is taken with flown in fresh daily oysters. Love the house barbecue sauce which is nice and spicy. Will return. And service is excellent."

  • "good place to have dinner before a fabulous Billy Joel concert at the Yum Center!"

  • "While the food is good, there really is way too much. So much is wasted. they could cut the portions and then the prices. Plus, just because we have a lot of food in America doesn't mean we should flaunt it."
    Dined on 3/30/2014
  • "the food is always great, the bar outstanding, service friendly, and the energy and decor superb. although second time in a row the pulled pork is just too dry but the brisket and baby back ribs steal the show. cornbread was also dry and served without butter. serve more of those house made pickles on the side and some will be forgiven. the bourbon menu is awesome although a bit intimidating and could use some system to help one decode the differences because it's too busy to get a bartender or the manager to spend time discussing which would be a good fit and i've never found a waitperson to be knowledgeable enough."

  • "So happy we were able to eat here! Best for experience by far!"

  • "Ate with a group of 5. Everyone enjoyed their meal, Three out of the five had BBQ which they loved. Many different BBQ choices. I had shrimp with cheese grits which is a local dish. It was outstanding! Large portions. Great service."

  • "Doc Crows use to be my go to to take out of town folks or to celebrate special occassions, but the last two times I have been there everything I have order has changed. The fried green tomatoes are presently differently without the salad under them and the breading is heavier now. The greens are preseasoned with vinegar and too much to my taste. They were wonderful before. Even the pecan pie is being served differently and it affects the taste. It has been overcooked both times. Please go back to what works."

  • "appeared this restaurant had good online reviews, etc - but I must say the food was very average. Had their dry rub ribs - very little "rub", overcooked, and not very tasty., Oh well, maybe just not a great night for them but many other better places to try"

  • "I have brought out of town guests to Doc Crow's on four separate occasions and have never been disappointed! All of my guests rave about the food, the service, the relaxed atmosphere and the great assortment of seafood and bourbons. Thanks for being a consistent hot spot for me!"

  • "Stumbled upon this place while driving thru Louisville and looking for a non-chain place for lunch. 'Sampled the Chili,, the home-made chips, the brisket sandwich and the home-made pork rinds. Everything was fabulous AND Jeremy the server, provided the BEST service we have had in ages. He told us they are soon to be in Cincinnati. Can't wait!"

  • "Went to Doc Crow's before the Arcade Fire show at the Yum Center and it worked out perfectly. We were seated promptly (noting our Open Table reservation), the waiter was friendly, attentive and helpful. We both had Wedge salads which were excellent - I had the Pulled pork and a side of green beans -- fantastic. My husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs and was amazed at how the meat fell off the bone and how flavorful it was. I love the energy level in this place -- always something going on near by with it's proximity to Actors Theater, the Yum Center and Ky Center. Great location - Great food!"

  • "Hubby and I were in town for a concert. They accommodated my reservation request to have a table with a view and called to confirm my reservation. We were sat immediately upon arriving. The server was friendly, courteous and timely. They have a diverse menu. I highly recommend the loaded baked potato wit beef brisket and warm bread pudding. Both super delicious!"

  • "Mussels here are better than anywhere else around. Delicious food, perfectly chilled Stella. Bread pudding was better in December than this visit, we didn't taste the typical warm bourbon. Still was wonderful. Friendly servers!"

  • "Doc Crow's is great for any occasion and is my go-to spot when entertaining guests. There's something for everyone on the menu."

  • "Although I had made a reservation on Open Table the day before, the restaurant did not have my table ready at the reservation time. Instead, the greeter seated several other tables of larger parties first, who arrived after I did. I had to remind the greeter of my "reservation". He appears to have forgotten, and seated me and my party of five at a table where two of my party were sitting in the hallway, next to the wait station, next to a bathroom, and in front of the kitchen. Restaurant appeared busy and noisy because we were in the middle of traffic. Our waiter ran away after we asked questions Food came out sporadically. Food was dry and overpriced. Overall, a horrible dining experience and I'll never go back there again."

  • "We attend a lot of UL sporting events at the YUM Center and love the fact that we can make a reservation at Docs and always get to our seats before tip off. Wish more restaurants in the vicinity would take ressies...but the fact that this one does drives us there!"

  • "Love this restaurant. Great food, service and scene. Only drawback is noise. High ceilings combined with hardwood floors and open space make noise in the backroom unbearable. Be sure to request a booth in the hall corridor or front bar area."

  • "I like that we were able to book a reservation. The staff was very nice and our server was very good. He was knowledgable of the food choices. It was a bit cold where we were sitting, which was in the section with a lower ceiling. I would refer this restaurant to all my family and friends. We will return to Doc Crows."

  • "Neat old building, kind of tight for large groups. Great food, suprisingly reasonable cost. Lots of variety from BBQ to oysters, shrimp etc. Cool place to go downturn as alternative to a high-priced steakhouse."

  • "The pulled pork is always good! The sandwich is just the right amount. The housemade chips are delicious & their bbque sauces are tasty. They have a very nice assortment of oysters also! Perfect for UL games before or after or any time!"

  • "I have been here a number of times and though the food was good it wasn't great. The seafood gumbo my friend had was really good as was her house salad. My chili had good flavor but had to be sent back as it was only warm - even after reheating it still was not hot enough. I love the atmosphere and the service is always good."

  • "Great menu items. A bit Kentucky, Tenessee and Louisiana wrapped up in a god looking restaurant and bar. One of the better recent additions to an already powerful restaurant scene in Louisville."
    Dined on 1/20/2014
  • "Food was great (as always) and service was good. My only complaint would be the temperature - it was a clod day and the draft under the front doors kept it very chilly in the front room!"

  • "Great game night spot. Make sure to make a reservation, the service is great. They get you in and our in time for the game, no need to move your car, its perfect. Fun ambience. I love the new lighter way they are preparing the green beans."

  • "The service was fast and the servers were attentive and friendly. when the appetizers came we were very impressed with the quality of the food and definitely not disappointed when the entrees arrived. a great place to celebrate our anniversary!"

  • "My husband and I have enjoyed Doc Crows and have now taken 3 different couples there. Everyone enjoys the place. It's casual and the food quality is quite good. If you go, check out the floors. We were told they are original and the building is one of the old warehouses. This one supposedly stored bourbon and you can see marks on the old wood floors where the carts were rolled. Really cool, I think."

  • "We had reservations for my birthday dinner prior to the UL basketball game. Due to traffic during that time, we were 20-30 minutes late so I called and Doc Crow's so kindly accommodated us with in a friendly and welcoming manner. Thank you! It was my first experience, referred by a friend, and the dinner more than met my expectations!"
