Didn't have to travel uptown to KTown....very fast excellent service, very happy and buoyant atmosphere ( noisy!!) great evening!
We both loved, wished we had more people with us, great for a large group, party!!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Korean downtown...You might be able to find a dish or two in Ktown that is as good or better, but overall the the food at Do Hwa beats almost every Ktown spot, and it's a much nicer restaurant. Ktown is a zoo, Do Hwa is a pleasure; and not at the expense of authenticity or quality. Additionally, you don't leave Do Hwa smelling like bbq. I stopped going to Ktwon, and solely because of Do Hwa.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMromantic and cool environment.the waitress was very helpful in explaining and recommending items from the menu. the food was very delicious for our first taste of Korean cuisine. and they very nicely provided us with a complimentary toast for our anniversary. :-)5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food! Great service!Great food! Great service! If you make a reservation be prepare to wait for your table. Saturday evening crowd was LOUD!
I like that place and having lunch there is great.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDo Hwa should really haveDo Hwa should really have invested in cushion-backed booth seating instead of the enormous noise-amplifying wood panels that line all the booths, as this restaurant is about a thousand decibels louder than it should be. That said, the food was good -- basically a more thoughtfully prepared version of your standard Korean fare. The cocktails were surprisingly really good -- my favorite was the Battle Royale, which was essentially a Korean take on a Kir Royale. I'm ambivalent about the food, but I would certainly go back for happy hour.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific drinks and soju,Terrific drinks and soju, one great taste after another. They let us switch tables with a smile, Rachel our server was knowledgeable and helped create a terrific and varies menu. Always a pleasure here.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI love Do Hwa. One of myI love Do Hwa. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It's chic, elegant, trendy without being so hip it hurts. Great food with never a bad bite.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Korean BBQ.
