A word from django's Restaurant & Wine Bar
django's is a locally owned restaurant at the base of Mt. Crested Butte, gaining national attention for its seasonal menu of globally inspired small plates. This culinary adventure offers a fun dining experience best shared with friends: the plates are brought one at a time, for everyone to taste up to 25 different selections on the weekly menu. The wines are served by quartino (250ml) carafe, to allow for pairing and sampling across an extensive list focused on European and South American wines. The interior is elegant yet casual, offering seating in booths or banquettes, at low or high tables, and at the dining bar overlooking the kitchen. If you prefer dining outdoors, grab a table on the courtyard patio, where you'll hear live music on Thursdays. Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The food is tapas style. My first experience of small plates. It was great food, combinations, and flavors. The "Date with a Pig" was amazing. (Dates rolled in ham). The waitress recommended it, not something I would have tried, but so glad I did. The Spanish Creme brûlée was the best I've ever had."

  • "Food and wine were outstanding. The restaurant was quite busy since it was the Fourth of July, and service suffered a bit. We were asked several times what we had ordered and what we were waiting for. The food was worth putting up with the less than stellar service, however!"

  • "We live part-time in CB and feel that Django's has the best food in the area. Every dish was excellent and exceeded expectations. Plates are small and a bit on the higher end for price but the quality was easily justified. We will certainly be back."

  • "Wonderful treat after an intense day of hiking. Would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in Crested Butte!"

  • "Most all of the items are large enough for two people to share, and we had five such plates for a total cost of $45-for two dinners! The wait staff times the order so that you are not crowded for space on your table, and they will choose the order so you do not have to think about what to have first, second, etc. Moreover, the close placement of tables and the casual nature of the decor makes for a very convivial experience."

  • "We really enjoyed our experience at Django's while visiting Crested Butte. The food and atmosphere were both incredible. This is definitely a swankier place then the other restaurants we visited while in The Butte, but well worth being there. As other reviewers have said, the brussel sprouts were amazing! If I had to pick one negative thing about the restaurant was that they seemed very unorganized when we got there at 5pm when they opened. We brushed it off because once they got on their game, it was a great experience."

  • "Kate Ladoulis offers a unique experience at Djangos in Mt. Crested Butte. One you will not find many places short of a Joel Robechan in Paris or London! The selection of unusual and interesting small plates makes choosing which ones difficult. Great choice of wines, too."

  • "My wife and I just ate at django's for our anniversary and it was a great choice. We were seated at a high table looking over the kitchen, I would highly recommend requesting one of these tables as the regular tables looked really close together! We shared 5 plates, 2 desserts and a nice reasonably priced bottle of wine. The sea bass and duck leg were our favorite parts of dinner and the flourless chocolate cake was ridiculous."

  • "I made a reservation over a month before my Anniversary, drove about 4 hours to get to Crested Butte to find that the restaurant was not open. Other restaurants on Open Table said that they were not open during this time, but django's did not so I thought we were lucky. Very disappointed."

  • "The staff was all very friendly and worked in tandem (as a team) so that the whole experience flowed smoothly. The food was interesting and very well prepared."

  • "Didn't know what to expect from Django's. When you take a look at the menu, you get a good idea and then the food itself was fantastic. Roxanna was a great server and the restaurant's decor is very nice. Great meal."

  • "Welcoming, accomodating, knowledgeable staff. Great food. Date with aPig, asparagus with crispy Morrells, Morrell mushrooms with sea salt and the ravioli of the evening. All very tasty. We shared several other plates and the chef made sure they came out in the correct palatable order. Must do for foodies without children while in Crested Butte."

  • "My family and I are regular CB visitors and we always make reservations to eat there when we are in town. The food is well prepared and very good. The menu is extensive and well thought out so that the plates compliment each other. The service is great. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful about the extensive wine collection. I highly recommend Django's."

  • "Wine was fantastic. The small plates were imaginative, delicious and, sometimes, not so small. The Hangar steak would have fed me as dinner."

  • "When we came in for our reservation, our table wasn't ready and we sat down at the bar to wait. Twenty minutes later, we were told that we had the option of 2 tables, one facing the kitchen and one that was elsewhere. We thought we'd enjoy watching the goings on in the kitchen so opted for that table. Ten minutes later, no one had gone over to clear our intended table. Our bartender took it upon himself to check in with the hostess about our table and then cleared it and we finally got seated. We ordered food and let the waitress know that we were thinking about a bottle of wine. The waitress never came back to get our wine order and we had to flag her down to put it in. That level of service was pretty par for the night."

  • "Loved Django's. Had a table for two facing the kitchen and were very entertained. Everything looked very tempting. Service was extremely friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was jammed. We had the arancini - they were delicious. The mussels were only OK but there were so many other things on the menu we wanted to try we immediately made a reservation to come back in a couple of days. Very good."

  • "Djangos has never disappointed us! We have been dining here for about 5 years, service, food, wine list are all top notch. I would say not the place for kids, definitely an adult experience!"

  • "Needed a great spot, on the mountain, to enjoy some wine, conversation and food with some of the best in my business. Djangos fit the bill in all ways. Great service from Rachel, we even shocked her by draining a bottle of single malt she had never opened... Can't say enough...."

  • "The food is excellent and the wine is divine. It was too noisy and very glad that we went late (9pm) on Sunday. Once the crowd thinned out it was great. Got great food tips from some locals at the next table, too. We are from sea level so we were only able to sample two wines :( Great service, too."

  • "Awesome for foodies. We had 4 adults and shared about 10 small plates and every one was delicious!! We will be back whenever skiing in Crested Butte!!"

  • "We have enjoyed several meals at django's and "enjoyed" is always the word. The food can't be beat; it is always delicious and hot items arrive piping hot. The servers know the menu well. Love it!"

  • "We were seated at the last banquette right across from the kitchen which was perfect for us. Dinner and a show! Very good food, excellent portion sizes, attentive service, really nice wine list. A couple of the dishes could have used a little more seasoning and a drizzle of oil on the Arugula would have made it less dry. Those are very minor complaints. All in all a great experience and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone."

  • "Awesome food, fantastic service and great ambiance! Wonderful way to unwind after a full day on the slopes. Our server was very at tentative, I have a dairy and gluten sensitivity and our server was very helpful and accommodating and the kitchen was more than willing to make amendments to menu items to meet my needs. The ambiance was great, very welcoming, lively and laid back, while still being a place to have a nice dinner. The menu was delicious and we left feeling very full and satisfied! The wine menu was excellent, lots of variety and the price ranges were very reasonable. Overall a great place!"

  • "Excellent food and wine pairing. Best plate is the Brussels sprouts, even if you don't generally like them, they are not like what our moms used to make us eat."

  • "I ate at django's with two other vegetarians and two meat-eaters, and we all loved our food. I would highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and the mushroom risotto, both of which were outstanding. I also enjoyed the wine list and the ambiance. We'll definitely be returning!"

  • "Menu is tapas style, and each course was great. Very different items. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts and the mushroom strudel. Service was 5 star. Only drawback, dessert was a special cake and was not on par with the rest of the meal."

  • "Megan was the server - could not have been better or more attentive, even on New Year's Eve. As usual, Tony is the best bartender in the Butte! Food was up to high standard!"

  • "They never miss a beat. Everything from the specialty cocktails and well-chosen beer (Samuel Smiths - yum!) was perfect. It was my wife's birthday and they made the night special for her and lots of fun for everyone. Food was amazing but the portions were small-ish. I prefer this quality over quantity approach so that isn't a complaint, but an observation."

  • "We sat at the chef;s table - what an experience. The food was amazing, attentive staff, great wine list. Plan to have a wonderful evening of good food prepared in an extraordinary way with a twist in each dish! Loved it. The place to go whether you want a few nibbles and a glass of wine or a full dining experience!"

  • "We visited Crested Butte in late summer and while we were out noticed django's and decided to make a reservation on a whim. It turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. We dined on the closing night for the summer season and the entire experience was unreal. From the staff to the desert, everything was beyond our expectations. It's pretty dark, but very intimate. Its also small so not good for many big groups although they do have a couple tables that could accommodate a larger party. We followed a few of the server's recommendations and made a couple of our own calls, but everything we selected was great."

  • "This restaurant was such a great find, that we skipped our second night's reservation and returned here for a second meal! Their style of serving and the excellent food made this a wonderful experience. I only wish it was also in the Denver area where we could enjoy it more often. I would recommend this to anyone staying in Crested Butte! A real gem!!!"
