Django RestaurantJust perfectI took my girlfriend here for an anniversary dinner, I was very pleased with my choice of restaurant, the food was phemonimal, by far the best part, the service was nice but nothing to point out, if you do decide to go to this fine establishment (which you should) I recommend the duck frites for an appetizer and the French toast for dessert my entreé was a 14 ounce new your strip steak, which was good but again nothing worth pointing out.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great atmosphereWe had a very good dining experience, despite having to make 4:45 pm reservation to even get a table. The food was delicious, the waiter didn't rush us through the meal at all, the service was the right mix of helpful without being overbearing. I wish they had a better selection of non-IPA tap beers. Very good dinner, we will be back again!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDjango DinnerThe food and the service were all great and consistnat with prior visits. We will be back for more!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceService was exceptional starting at the bar and continuing on through dinner. Food and drinks very good too.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Django for a specialWe went to Django for a special occasion and it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, the service was good and the fact that you could bring your own wine was awesome.Would recommend this restaurant in a heart beat.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial ItemsStrongly recommend their "Cheese Flights" and oysters. Friendly bartenders that cater to the clientele.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Cuisine In Des MoinesWe came here on recommendations of a friend. Such good food. We had the mussels in blue cheese, calamari, lobster ravioli and sea scallops. All were outstanding. We were offered our decaf coffee french pressed, and it was delicious!
We were so satiated but couldn't resist the Chocolate Pot o creme, and the creme Brulee. Overall, the service - attentive, food was amazing. We went home feeling totally relaxed and satisfied! A charming and delightful discovery.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food with great friendsGreat place to spend time with friends sharing great food and conversation. Menu had a great range and burgers are outstanding.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic foodI had the Beef Bourguignon, and it was amazing! She had the pork chops, and they looked delicious too. In the past I have tried a few other dishes, and there is not a bad one. The finest French cuisine in Des Moines. Our waitor was pretty good. He was very polite and fairly knowledgeable, but seemed pretty busy. Maybe he was just new.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench getawayDate for two and always have a great time. Food is exquisite.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch! My mom and I had Sunday brunch at Django. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. Both the mushroom crepes and benedict florentine were delicious! And very reasonably priced. We stuck to water and coffee, as the brunch cocktails were rather pricey. $9 for a mimosa? I was expecting the ambiance to be a little more...interesting? cozy? French? It just has your typical hotel lounge feel. We were there during the day, so maybe it's a little more cozy at night. But I would definitely recommend it on the food and service alone.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat vegetarian options,Great vegetarian options, amazing seafood, perfect date night dinner!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I live outMy husband and I live out of town, and we really enjoy going to Django's for a special occasion. We were excited about our upcoming dinner there last Friday night prior to a show at the Civic Center. When we arrived with our Open Table reservation, we were seated right away. The menu offered many good selections, and the chef made an adjustment to accommodate my husband's diet. Our choices were perfect, and we were not disappointed by one single bite! This is a warm, friendly, romantic spot for us that carries many great memories!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wanted a "special" placeWe wanted a "special" place for our 20th Anniversary, and this was PERFECT! My husband does not feel comfortable in a "fancy" restaurant, even though I consider Django a very classy restaurant, a person still feels comfortable in casual clothing. Thank you for a very pleasant experience. Our waitress was outstanding! George, you rock14/19/2013 12:00:00 AMI've eaten at Django manyI've eaten at Django many times, and it is one of my favorite restaurants in Des Moines, that I return to again and again. If you haven't tried beet salad, theirs will make you a fan. I order their french onion soup, mussels (especially in blue cheese sauce), their tuna steak (medium rare), and have enjoyed everything that I try on the diverse menu. The charcuterie is the best happy hour choice in town with baskets of warm rolls and butter. Charcuterie and a glass of red wine with friends at Django is the perfect way to end a day. The staff is knowledgable and accommodating. Oh, and I love the bottle of cool water on the table, without ice.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA happy Drake parent!Once again, an awesome meal and wonderful service. We were seated promptly in a table in a less noisy area (as I had requested online). Waitress was attentive and knowledgable. Food was the star-- Had a swordfish salad, which was a special. Perfectly prepared, mild tasting with a fresh tomato/ avocado salad alongside. Another in our party ordered the beef tips on gnocchi special--wonderfully rich and tender. Another friend ordered mussels--almost stooped to drinking the broth! Boy I wish they had restaurants like this in Chicago (ha ha!) All kidding aside, we live in Chicago and Django would hold its own here--but delightfully unpretentious. Bravo and keep up the good work!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant has becomeThis restaurant has become one of our favorites for special occasions. Very consistent in the way the food is prepared and presented. The flavors are exquisite and the servers are very knowledgeable and attentive without being overly friendly or interrupting.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, fair price. My wife and I loved eating here. The only question we had about the place was the floor. (which this is me knit picking, we had a gread experience at Django.) Why a place of that stature had a broken up floor.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI love the food. A littleI love the food. A little disappointed that the menu "shrank" some but when I asked about the scallop/casserole dish, waitress said they would preapre it even though it isn't on the menu. I like bringing in a bottle of my own wine even though the wine list is good. This makes the dinner more affordable and that way we tend to linger in the bar afterwards for cocktails and coffee.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent. ServiceThe food was excellent. Service was very good. It was a boisterous environment, which would lend itself well to having a good time with friends. It was, however, a bit loud for a first date. I will definitely return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is my favorite restaurantThis is my favorite restaurant in Des Moines. My wife and I like to sit at the bar. We start with a cheese flight and glass of wine. We then split an entree and salad so we can save room for dessert. Great jazz music in the background doesn't hurt either.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOuThis was out first to Django. We made reservations were seated almost immediately upon our arrival. We ordered the duck frites as an appetizer which came with 4 different dipping sauces. The frited were excellent. My wife ordered the Beef Bourguignon and I ordered the Duck Confit. The beef was tender and delicious while the duck was perfectly prepared and melt in your mouth delicious. Our server was attentive without smothering. We will return.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper serviceGreat food, great service. Love the no-cork fee.
Waitress's were outstanding on Friday night March 293/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe're hooked! We eat at Django regularly and always have great food and exceptional service!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodBYOB and it makes the meal reasonable!!! No Corkage. They really could take a few tables out in a few spots. Service can be slow so don't go wanting a quick meal3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMReservations easy on line,Reservations easy on line, weeks in advance, visitng from out of state. Seated promptly, service excellent. As a couple dining out together, I would have prefered not to have a table of 5 men seated next to us. The beet salad was awesome-used feta instead of blue cheese. The ceasar salad was average, though they did have anchovies. I totally enjoyed the filet with fois gra and truffle- would have again and recommend it highly. The goat cheese ravioli appetizer was super delicious. The Lobster tempura was a little heavy on the batter, though the lobster was melt in the mouth perfect. Served with sauces -to heavy with smoke flavor, to strong mayonaise taste, the third was more delicate. Peach cobbler awesome.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat overall experience onGreat overall experience on a busy Saturday night. Our only complaint was that the tables are to close to each other. Not enough privacy for our anniversary dinner. This would not stop me from returning or recommending to people.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen to Django several timesBeen to Django several times & have never been disappointed. The service and French style cuisine are spectacular. Highly recommended!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Des Moines' Best!!!Our server was one of the best I've had in a very long time.
