  • "The salmon tataki was very good as were the oysters. However, regarding the main courses the chicken did not taste good and the duck was not as good as it should have been. (The bland dried out mushrooms on the plate should not have been served.) Incidentally when I mentioned that I could hardly taste the stilton in our stilton cheesecake dessert, I was told that because most customers find stilton cheese cheesecake too strong for them that the dessert was sweetened to please them. Since I ordered the dessert item because I like stilton, I should have been cautioned about this before ordering the item."

  • "We joined friends for brunch last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful quiet of the dining ro where we could actually hear one another without shouting over dreadful music and the bonus was that both the food and the service were fabulous! I had a delightful omelette stuffed with brie and mushrooms on top while my husband had a continental breakfast. Our friends said their breakfast smoked cod hash was fantastic. Thank you Diva for providing a lovely little oasis for Sunday brunch!"

  • "It was a full restaurant at Diva for Valentine's Day. We had to wait a long time for our food. While the waiter apologized, he "did not want to make waves". No other acknowledgement was made, and we were assured that the manager was aware "of the problem". The couple next to us also waited a very long time for their food and got the same waiter apology. We went back the next night because we were staying there. It was not busy and the food arrived on time, with style, and it was a different experience. It seems as if DIVA cannot handle high demand and that the chef is a Diva, focusing on himself while letting the customers go hungry. Food is inventive and tasty, but tarnished by the service. Regular menu better than Special Menu."

  • "I heard from a chef friend that this restaurant is extraordinary. It was very disappointing. The food had an exquisite decoration but nothing else. The taste was average or below average. I have been to my share of fine dining restaurants but I didn't find the food special or not even that good. It is definitely not worth the money I pay. Also, we asked for medium steak and the steak was well done. It made me and my girl friend to think that we cannot waste money on this famous restaurants with no substance (bad food) We would rather eat at home. My girl friend, an ex-sous chef at a hotel, said she could easily cook the steak and fish we ordered and she did not enjoy the food at all."

  • "In town at the last moment with wife for Valentines Day getaway. Found all restaurants of note booked. Through OpenTable Diva was the only downtown $$$ or $$$$ restaurant with an opening. We are very experienced foodies.Service (the kitchen) was slow for every course. We had the pre fixe menu (4 courses) with wine paring. With the restaurant half empty,it took them another 15 minutes to bring us the desert course. Portions are small but if the timing was better, that wouldn't have been a problem. Food was bland. At these prices and style, we are used to being wowed. Not wowed tonight. Wine servings pretty small compared to similar wine parings at other restaurants."

The hostess helped me organize flowers delivered to the table and the service during the meal was very friendly and fun. The only complaint I have is that it took quite a while. This is fine, but some of the timing with wines (paired) given quite some time before the course made it difficult to fully appreciate the pairing. Particularly with the 2oz pours. It was Valentines and we were ordering off-menu thought!"

  • "While the ambiance is world class and the food design follows Vancouver's chic gastro-trends, we were somewhat underwhelmed by Diva @ the Met's prix fixe offerings for Valentine's Day. Guests chose one of two 4-course meals, each of which had optional wine pairings and some baseline indifference toward allergic/restrictive diners (no judgement). T'was nice. And yet, while all dishes were good, nothing "wowed" us. Perhaps it was the lack of a cohesive culinary theme and the uniform, tasting-sized portions that made the menu ~"meh". But don't you expect...more? It's Vancouver (food-mecca of B.C.) *plus* we had to provide CC info just to keep the reservation. TL;DR: Review of V-Day menu only. Diva excels most at aesthetics and cocktails."

  • "It was my BF's birthday. Everything was perfection. We both wanted the Price Fix,I have a terrible aversion to Salmon. The waitress was very accommodating as they offered me their short rib instead. I didn't want to miss out on the unreal iceberg lettuce salad and scrumptious warm chocolate cake. There were four chefs working in the kitchen and doing their jobs with military precision. The service was impeccable with water top ups, automatic soda refills and even clearing and serving from the right to left. The food was so beautiful and explained perfectly by our wonderful server. Warm and friendly without being invasive.The warm chocolate cake with hazelnut ice-cream and dusted with hazelnut powder was the best things I have ever tasted."

We were also offered a wonderful selection of breads with our meal. We had a wonderful time at Diva and we would not hesitate to go back again!"

The combination of flavours and textures was so intriguing and delicious. A lot of combinations that we have not tried before (Cured salmon, rye crumble, pickled sea asparagus, sorrel puree). Service was lackluster, but still attentive (understandable during Dine Out). Overall, a good experience and I would visit again for a special occasion."

  • "The reason why I chose for my friend and me to go to Diva was because the dine-out menu was different. The ingredients were not run-of-the-mill and the options diverse. Everything tasted fabulous and I have zero complaints about the service. The portions weren't very large, but once you eat all three coarses, you will be satisfied, since the ingredients are so rich. Smoked octopus is delicious, by the way! Definitely recommend Diva for those looking for fine dining options!"

  • "For our selections this year in Dine Out Vancouver we picked this one because of a desire to try the "chef" to find out the chef left, another one replaced and the Sous Chef was doing the cooking for the day and also made the menu for this event - what a great experience. She is very worthy of being the executive chef at this restaurant and the waitress was very commendable of her expertise as well (the waitress was very good and very aware of our food, wine and opportunity to talk). I would go back to the restaurant if I were in the area again."

  • "I realize it was during Dine Out but the portions were very very small. I expected we won't be getting full size portions however what was served was like 1/4 of their regular serving. The food was good but I had to have more bread to try to fill that void/ hunger in my belly. Other restaurants are more generous with portions so it's a shame Diva didn't."
