Diner Reviews
  • "We have enjoyed Ditkas in Chicago, so when we realized there is a Ditkas in the Phoenix area we decided to visit it. The restaurant was not at all like the flagship restaurant in Chicago. My son ordered a Steakhouse burger. He asked for it with bacon and cheese, only. He asked for the sauce on the side. The burger came with the mushrooms and onions, so melted into the cheese that by the time he scraped them off, there was no cheese left. There was no bacon on the burger at all. No one even asked how our meal was until we were leaving. We will continue to visit the Chicago location when we are in town, but I'm no longer making it a priority to visit the Pittsburg and Oakbrook locations."

  • "Ditka's has some best food I've ever eaten. Ditka's is a bit pricey depending on what you order but you will not be disappointed. Their steaks are the best I've ever had. However, on this occasion, I had the lobster mac & cheese. This is on the menu as a shareable side dish but works for me as an entree. It is very rich and delicious, made with Wisconsin white cheddar, real butter and three ounces of lobster meat. The pasta is fusilli, which I actually like better for this dish. It is topped off with bread crumbs and chives. Trust me when I say it is a bit of heaven. All of the servers are excellent here but Joseph is the cream of the crop. Very professional, efficient and personable."

  • "This ended up being one of the most memorable birthdays! The service was outstanding, the food was great, and the ambience was truly perfect for a romantic evening. We would not only recommend Ditkas for special occasions but will be returning ourselves. :)"

  • "I was my birthday and we tried the new Ditka's in Vee-Quiva and it was great. The manager Shane came over and we discussed the art and our waiter was very friendly. We will go back."

  • "While in Phoenix saw that there was a Ditka's, definitely not the Ditka's in Chicago. We were looking forward to the memorabilia, none to be found, just a couple of pictures. Very bright and very quite. I will tell you the food was delicious. The best hamburgers. Just disapointed. Waitness was great."

  • "My wife had a Caesar salad and I had the crab bisque. Both were not very good. Soup was tasteless and the salad was limp with dressing that was below standard. My wife had the filet mignon which was great until the Oscar topping ruined it. The sauce was horrible. We tried Ditka's when they first opened and had a wonderful meal and great service. This time, very disappointing. Even my wife's cocktail was lousy. We had a young man serve us who was in training and in need of more training. He stood and hung out after giving us our bill until we paid him. For the cost of the meal - we will not go back."

  • "We live in mesa so it took us an hour to get to vee quiva where Ditka's is located. It was well worth the drive. We had the calamari as our appetizer. It was so tender it just melted in your mouth. I have the roasted chicken and it was wonderful. But my husband dish was amazing. He had the filets with crab medallions on top. The we're fantastic!!! For dessert we had the raspberry cheesecake. It was huge so I recommend splitting it. We will definitely be back. I recommend just getting a room at the hotel. It took us four hours round trip with dinner."

  • "It is rare to find a GREAT Kansas City Strip ( and for those of you who don't know Yes there is a difference between Kansas and NY strips). Steak was premium and cooked perfectly. The sides were great and perfect for us to share ( we ordered 2 sides for 4 people) Even the vegetarian in our group was delighted with the pasta dish. Then the server surprised us with birthday cake slices that were decadent chocolate cake. Would suggest that you go HUNGRY as there isn't a small meal on the menu."

  • "We were very disappointed. The restaurant was almost empty. There were maybe 2 or 3 other tables occupied. We could not understand why the service was so slow. 2 of the orders were incorrect. There is a definite langauge issue. I do not think the servers understood. An example: we ordered salads which was the best part of the meal, but one of he dinners was supposed to be a salmon dinner (salmon, rice and a vegetable) a large salad with a piece of salmon was given to diner. The server was told of a food allergy to onions, his dinner came to the table with onions on the plate. All of these mistakes were taken care of a very apologetic manager. It was obvious the servers were not familar with the menu or really understood our order."

  • "My husband, Son, Daughter-In-Law and I went to Dinner with Da Coach to meet Coach Ditka. We were very impressed with how well the event was organized. The dinner was very delicious. The staff service was excellent. We were not rushed in any way and enjoyed the ambiance very much. All in all we were very pleased and will recommend this restaurant to family and friends. We will definitely return to dine there again."

  • "The food was outstanding. The service by the waitress was so so. She was bubbly enough, but her promises of bread never happened and table setting was never fulfilled. We had to get the front greeters to get service."

  • "Joseph was our server. He was very pleasant and made some good menu recommendations. Da Coaches Meatloaf was excellent. My husband enjoyed the ribs. We both enjoyed the chipotle margaritas which were new to us as well as the creme bruele (spelling?)"

  • "This was terrible. The service was awful. Our server was also the worst ever for a restaurant of this caliber. We were shocked because for the price of this beautiful restaurant we could not believe how bad it was. The manager was very gracious trying to make it better so for that we were very grateful I just don't know if we would come back again or not........."

  • "I was disappointed with my experience at Ditka's. No special, no bread with our meal; however I did notice other guests had bread , we had Prime rib and lobster. We sat at a banquet table and that was nice, but the entire ledge on the back was so dusty! I don't like dining in a place that is dirty! Food was good, Morton and Mastro prices but sadly not the service and quality level. We might try it again to see if we just came on a night that everything was off......"

  • "My husband and I went there on Valentine's Day. Two days prior they called to confirm our reservation at 5:30, we had a confirmed reservation with open table for 7:30. I had to talk with the manager to get this corrected. Felt the way this was handled was very unprofessional. Our dining experience was ok, we were seated right away, but it took awhile for the service staff to come by. We had the special menu for Valentine's Day which was lobster and filet. The filet was good but the lobster was over cooked and the vegetables were really just ok. Maybe it would be better to try this restaurant on another evening other than a special holiday."

  • "Went there for the valentines day special. This was our second visit. The first visit had been the previous Monday for meet Da Coach night. Both nights service was excellent. Food was very good. We had the filet both nights. Ordered it medium rare. The first time mine was a little more medium on the outside, it wasn't until you got to the middle that it was medium rare. Husband said his was perfect. On valentines had filet and lobster tail. This time my filet was perfect throughout, but husbands in the center was really rare. they need to work on that. If it weren't for the special pricing menu on Monday I would of defiantly sent mine back to be redone. My lobster was cold, good thing they had the warm butter to put it in. Excellent service"

  • "we did this for valentines day and we have to say that the food is outstanding! The place is beautiful and the staff was great. It is a little noisy at times but you are in a casino and that is to be expected and from time to time the smell of smoke comes from what has to be one of the last places you are still allowed to smoke which is a bummer. Be prepared to hold your breath to get to Ditka's but it is worth it."

  • "We attended the special event Dinner with Da Coach. For this event, there was a choice of two appetizers, two entrees, and 4 desserts. I had the crab bisque, da pork chop, and mango sorbet. All of these were delicious. The portion size of the pork chop was incredible. There was no way that I could finish it all. I would definitely go back again."

  • "Getting to meet Mike Ditka was what motivated us to visit the restaurant and everything else was just a bonus. The food and service was remarkable. The location is a little out of the way, but well worth the drive, especially for Bears fans. We will definitely be visiting again, even when Da Coach isn't there."

  • "I went for a special event. I got to meet Da Coach and get pictures and an autograph so it was worth it just because of the opportunity. The food was just ok. I had the filet and it was very dry. Afterward my gf and I didn't feel full. Maybe the regular menu is better but for the special event we were not impressed. I'd go again to meet another Bears legend but that's it."

  • "It is very hard to find a wonderful gift for my husband, I don't like to do the same old thing . He is a big chicago bear fan so to have dinner here was a treat but then to have the opportunity to watch him meet Mike Ditka just was perfect! The whole experience was a perfect, what a memory, thank you!"

  • "This was a special occasion…my husbands 55th birthday…so we were looking for some place special to celebrate. Ditka's turned out not to be the place. It took forever for our order to be taken and for us to receive our food. We had to ask several times for our water glasses to be refilled. The person who delivered our bottle of wine had no personality and broke the cork off in the wine bottle…but still served us that bottle of wine. My husband and our friend both ordered the barbecue ribs and said that they were dry and tough. The other 2 entrees we ordered were mediocre for the price we paid."

  • "Lets us say at the beginning,,,, the place was great! The food is exceptional. We enjoyed the pot roast nachos appetizer. We were greeted warmly and served immediately. The food choices were recommended after cocktails. We like tablecloths and properly dressed wait staff. The drinks were a bit small. We did not like the waiter not offering info about the specials; especially the Touchdown Special. We specifically arrived early to enjoy the special The waiter recommended all the expensive items on the menu Was he that desparate for a larger tip?"
    Dined on 1/29/2014
  • "The wait staff were all very pleasant, however they did NOT tell us about the 19.95 Touchdown special--we had to ask about it in order to get it (my husband found out about it online). They also neglected to tell us about Happy Hour cocktails which we did not find out about until after the meal. The food wasn't great; my husband disliked the ribs. I had the beef medallions which were okay but incredibly salty. Also, my mashed potatoes were lukewarm. The table we were seated at was right next to a glass wall with some color in it; on the other side was the casino with all the slots. I didn't really like the vibe. We will probably not go back."

  • "Excellent food and service. I was suprised to find this in a casino. We're coming back for the beef!"

  • "Great experience overall. The food was overpriced. The bone in filet is a good concept, but very poor execution as the steaks were not cooked properly. At that price point it shouldn't happen. The coaches wine was very good."
    Dined on 1/25/2014
  • "Did not expect how quiet it was inside the restaurant with it being just a wall away from the slots. Good job."

  • "I enjoyed the service more than the food. Steak was over cooked. I would not go back because it is so far away. Better choices for the value in Phoenix."

  • "All of the food I had here was amazing but the Shrimp Cocktail stole the show. Followed up by amazing crab cakes and melt in your mouth filet medallions. I would recommend this for a special date, quality time or to satisfy and awesome steak house hankering. I will be returning and hopefully soon!!"

  • "Enjoyable experience. The pot roast nachos were a very nice surprise. Did not know what to expect and they turned out to be very tasty. "Da Pork Chop" was excellent. They lost a star due to the side of asparagus which was not worth eating and the banana cream pie which was very disappointing. Service was OK but the steak topping that was ordered was forgotten. I would go back just for the nachos and the pork chop."

  • "After being to the location in Chicago's downtown. This locations doesn't quiet compare. It was good but we have been to at least three other steak/chop houses in Phoenix which were better in ambiance and quality"
