I chose Distrito because of its proximity to Penn. My husband and I were meeting up with cousins I hadn't seen in 30 years who were bringing a daughter (from Paris) to start her freshman year at Penn. My cousin said they don't have Mexican food in France and she was quite excited about going to Distrito. It was a very happy, bright, cheerful setting for a very fun night and reunion for us. We were one of the very last groups in the restaurant but were not pressured by the staff to leave. There were a couple incidents of dropped trays which was noisy and made us jump. I think they and we will definitely make some returns to Distrito. Thank you!

I reserved a table at Distrito for my friend's bachelorette party. We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving and everything was wonderful. Our waiter was friendly, the food was just delicious, and the restaurant itself is different and a feast for the eyes. I would definitely return. A fun time all around.

I have had dinner hear many times in the past. It has been a little over a year since we have been to Distrito. It was my birthday and needed a place that was fun for a larger group. The service and food is not what we have experienced in the past. This restaurant has lost some of its appeal.

Distrito is very consistent delivering tasty Mexican food in a festive atmosphere. The pitchers of margaritas are great also. Love the spicy peanuts put on the table as well. I do wish they had a bit more flexibility to accommodate off menu items. It's a great atmosphere to bring a teen, but the were unable to create simple meat, cheese and bean tacos or burritos, which is disappointing. This has happened on the past two visits.

This was our second visit to Distrito before we headed over to the Mann for a show. The décor is clean and bright, and the hostess sat us in a nice corner spot. The margaritas are great, the ceviche is fresh and delicious and the tacos and flatbreads are warm and tasty. Our waiter Jared was friendly, attentive and efficient - without hovering over us. Next time we'll bring friends.

This place is beautifully designed and provides a fun atmosphere to meet friends. The guacamole and chips was top notch. Creamy, tasty- just addictive! The lunch menu was suprisingly narrow. I would have liked a few more choices. My colleague had the mahi fish tacos and thought they were unique by put not great. I had the Tortilla soup which was very generous in portion and the first spoonfuls tasted great but it was unpleasently spicy hot. I will give Distrito another try- probably for dinner.

Not really "Mexican," but definitely Mexican-inspired. Very high-quality ingredients. I didn't absolutely crazy love EVERYTHING I had, but it was all very well done, carefully prepared. A tad noisy & my seat could've used a little more padding, but this is a very minor quibble. I enjoyed the experience greatly & learned a lot!

we went for dinner in the middle of the week. made a reservation and requested a table on the second floor. We were told upon arrival that the second floor was not open so we were given a table on the first floor (very uncomfortable). Then, a few minutes after we were seated we saw that they had open the second floor. we were very disappointed. The second floor is much better ambiance than the first floor.

The bartender was great. Otherwise I'm not thrilled by our experience. We went specifically for happy hour albeit with 2 kids. We were celebrating my daughters birthday and wanted somewhere in walking distance from her summer camp. So i was annoyed when we got there at 5 and were sat at the closest possible table to bar (3ft or so) only to be told you could only order from the happy hour menu if you were actually sitting on one of the 16 bar stools or stood touching the bar and we could not sit elsewhere because it was not open. Luckily the bartender lady came over and sorted that out for us. Food was good though service was slow.

First, let me just say, I hate "modern tapas" type restaurants. It's just a way for restaurants to overprice their food, so that an entree costs about $55. I was not aware Distrito was a tapas style restaurant. The food was "ok", nice presentation, really cool looking bar, great service, extremely overpriced for tapas (i.e. $10 for chips and salsa, $20 for a small tapas dish). We ordered a pitcher of margaritas and it was $60. For two people we spent $200. It is doubtful I will return.
