The food presentation was done extremely well but the authenticity of the mexican food was missing BUT to their defense this is, as Distrito calls it, a modern mexican restaurant (tapas at a Mexican restaurant). My best friend and I just thought the food could have been little more tastier but that just us AND it also may have simply been the dishes we ordered which were the los tacos de CAMARONES Y CHORIZO y enchilada de pollo. I went to distrito for cinco de mayo.....the crowd was energetic, and the staff was at tentative and quite friendly......the shrimp tacos are where its at, and the flatbreads are all amazing...I had a delightful eveing here. some of the best Mexican I have ever had. My friend ordered the carnitas, which not only came out very quickly but looked amazing.
The Ignacio nachos followed, and were perhaps the most amazing nachos ever. The chips were crisp, smothered in black beans, peppers, radish, and cheese. The portion was large enough for us to share.
I ordered the district chicken, and wow! was it awesome. My first time trying anything yuca, but I was pleasantly surprised. They tasted like a slightly sweet but savory potato. And the chicken itself was outstanding. All white meat, with a chipotle orange glaze that wasn't spicy but so savory and delicious. Again, the portion was quite large, so 4 of us finished it.

Even simple things, like the guacamole and enchiladas were excellent! Gotta have the Churros for dessert, came out warm with two fabulous desserts. Reservation was a bit earlier because of the kids but the place was still vibrant and fun. The food was really fun and some very inventive takes on traditional Mexican food. The guacamole with crab was amazing! While there isn't a kids menu per se, they did have chicken tacos and quesadillas that the kids loved. The fresh fruit margaritas were also fantastic.
