Went for dinner on a Saturday night at 9. The place was very busy, but the service was still excellent. We ordered the chips with guacamole and salsa - very fresh, the chips may have been made in house (unsure, forgot to ask), and the salsa and guacamole were both great. For entrees we ordered the enchilada trio and the pork belly. The enchiladas were very flavorful, and I especially enjoyed the crab meat enchilada which was rich and offered a unique balance of flavors. We also ordered the winter melon and the cucumber margarita, both were great.

It had been about 4 years since we last dined at Distrito. Last time was during restaurant week and had a fine experience. This time around we were very impressed with mostly all the food we ordered. Skirt steak nachos, queso fundido with duck, cornbread and mahi mahi tacos were all perfect. The queso fundido is heavenly. We'll definitely be dining at Distrito again.

I love Distrito. I love Jose Garces and the work he and his wife do for the community. I have frequented all his restaurants in Philadelphia. Restaurants should consider extending Happy Hour to the tables. Each time we go, we spend between $130.00 to $ 150.00 for 3 people which I am happy to do; however, I do not want to enjoy Happy Hour at the bar with my daughter. She is not of age to drink but enjoys going to Distrito and should be able to partake in the discounted fares that are offered to those at the bar. It is very disheartening. My husband and I drink hence we order drinks but because we choose to sit at a table with our daughter we are not afforded the same discounts for Happy Hour. This is unfortunate and seems to be happening in many places. Our visit to Distrito was nonetheless lovely and our server was very kind and helpful.

The Mahi Mahi tacos and Poblano corn bread are quite possibly sent from heaven. I wouldn't be surprised if angels made them. Although the tacos are small, with the corn bread it was perfectly filling but not over-the-top. I am very happy that my waitress recommended them. I look forward to coming again!

This restaurant is Jose Garces's (the Iron Chef). Because I'm a college student, I don't get to spend money on much, but my friends and I all save up go to this place. It's one of those awesome get-and-try-things-that-look-weird restaurants where you put your trust in the chefs to deliver. And they always do. Definitely go here if you're visiting or even if you haven't been here before and you're a native! I promise they won't disappoint, and it won't be your last time.

Every time we go there, the food is delicious. Frequently, it's rather spicy also, but if you ask the waitress she can help you choose from things that are a little less spicy. Or, with many of the dishes you can just pick off the jalapenos. We love trying the variety of dishes that they have, and usually choose 4-5 and share them with 2 people. Our favorite from this dining experience was the black bean enchilada.

So still a great place but attention to detail is slipping. Signature margarita is now much weaker and have become way too sweet. A good authentic one should be tart. Not worth drinking frankly. Very disappointing. Nacho's, which were my favorite in the city is now more of just a mass of cheese and toppings thrown on top. However, tacos were terrific.

This is the third time I have been here. The first two times were amazing. I went for dinner and the food was outstanding. The shrimp had a perfect amount of spice and the jicima salad was so refreshing. This last time went for lunch on Taco Tuesday. The chicken was delicious but the pork was dry and the "mahi" taco did not taste like mahi mahi. It tasted like a cod fish stick. It was not good. I was really disappointed.

Took a friend here for her birthday as she loves margaritas and Mexican food. The restaurant was very crowded as there was a wedding going on upstairs, but it didn't affect our experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive and gave us enough time to read the menu and relax throughout dinner. We ordered a pitcher of the El Jefe margaritas which was great as well as the guacamole with crab which was also great. We shared 2 beef tacos and the fish of the day. Both entrees were well cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Fun place with good food, good services and reasonable prices.

interesting, tasty cuisine, though, as often happens in tapas settings, we felt we got a little less than we paid for. also, we were expecting the main dining room but it was closed for a wedding reception (maybe Opentable could work that into its reservations notes, eh?). but the wedding party had a mariachi band and a dog that marched up the steps, so that gave everyone downstairs a shot of revelry, too. solid margaritas, flavorful, tho tequila was not high octane.

We went to Distrito as a family for my wife's birthday and all of us were disappointed by the food. The mahi mahi tacos were covered in a sauce redolent of thousand island dressing so they came off tasting like a Mrs. Paul's fish stick and the the medium-rare meat on the kobe beef tacos was tough and chewy. The octopus was excellent, but the sauces were not complimentary. The other items that we had were not even memorable. In addition, our table was not cleared on a regular basis and dirty dishes and glasses piled up. New food was brought to the table and the server would try to find a place to place it down among the dirty plates. Any mexican restuarant would get a 3 star, but at this price point it should be a two star.

We are planning to have your work anniversary dinner at Distrito because it's close to our office so my supervisor and I decided to go for dinner to test out the food ahead of time since none of us had been there before. Upon arriving the manager showed us the different party rooms and helped us pick one for the event, above and beyond what we were expecting. For dinner we got the $55 pp tasting menu and MAN, that was a lot of food!!! Definitely go hungry if you plan to get that. Our favorites were the guac with crab, the Mexican corn and the chicken. Service was phenomenal all night. Make an excuse to go to west PHL and get dinner here! Skip the margaritas though, we thought they were sub-par and too sweet!

After tasting the guacamole, our eating companion started breaking out and asked if the guac had been prepared using latex gloves. That was the allergy trigger. The chef and manager and servers were all at our table taking down the diner's info, etc. Then the chef prepared a specific meal for her and everything went just beautifully. The allergic response began to subside and was barely noticeable when we left the restaurant. We appreciate the attention in this matter and wish to thank the Jose Garces crew for their careful handling of our problem
