We had a group of 8 grab dinner here on a weekday evening. The restaurant was rather busy which unfortunately caused a little delay in our food but the server was great about it. She was completely honest by telling us upfront and even asked if we were an going to a the playhouse for a show to make sure we didnt run into any issues. The server was kind enough to give us 2 free appetizers and even a free after dinner drink. Although the food took a little longer than expected, I think the service from the server made up for it. I would definitely go back because of the service and the Delmonico steak was cooked perfectly (medium).

We made our reservation a day ahead of tome, so upon arrival, our table was ready, and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was well versed on all of the available selections. The food arrived incredibly fast, considering the fact every entree is hand crafted. I would absolutely recommend this restdurant to anybody looking fort a quality meal.

This was our second visit. I didn't write after the first, because I felt complicit. I'd given us just 1.5 hours, after all, and for a good meal, that’s barely enough time. It was not even close. We ended up cutting the meal short and running to get our seats just as the lights went down. This time, I gave us a full 2 hours. I had high hopes. They even asked if we had tickets. Still, we waited to order drinks, and then waited for them to arrive, our server scooting away, so we had to wait to order. Then the wait for appetizers. And for salad. And for entrees. No time for coffee or desert. We made it to the theater as the lights flashed. The food is truly wonderful, the interior beautiful, but we won't be back. Not if we're going to a show.

We attended Motown on Sunday evening and made reservations at District prior to the show. The restaurant was lovely, the food was very good and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return for another meal and recommend District. An area for improvement that I noticed was the immediate greeting when you are seated at the table. We waited greater than 10 minutes before our waitress got to our table and that was to state that she would be right with us. Once we received our drinks, which took awhile everything went well after that.

My husband and I came here for a nice dinner before a show. The service was a bit slow for how u busy they were but overall it was good. I ordered a flight of wines they had featured which was a great price but the wines were not for me. Not bad, just not what I was hoping for. I ordered the salmon dish which had to be sent back because it was undercooked but a new one came out very quickly and it was delicious . My husband enjoyed the tomato soup and a lentil salad, both were delicious. For dessert we enjoyed the apple crumble which was good but not quite enough to share. The place is definitely for a foodie, small pretty portions. Overall, it was a great place for a quiet romantic dinner with a great view of the Chandelier!

We were making it a big night out- dinner and the theater. District is so conveniently located to Playhouse Square that we decided to try it. It was during the week, but we were glad we'd made reservations. Service was great, appetizer was great, and the bread rolls were especially excellent! We both had Salmon for our entree and found it to be fantastic, melt in your mouth. My companion was also complimentary of the wine. Overall a fantastic experience.

If you're looking for a nice place to have dinner before the theater at Playhouse Square, District is a great option. This is the third time we have dined at District. We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive and helpful. We both had the Beef Bourguignon. While it was tasty, it did not have the depth of flavor we were expecting. The mushroom appetizer we had was OK. The chesse was good, but the muchrooms themselves would have been bettter if sauteed. The dessert was wonderful and we wuld get again. It was a semifreddo brulee. Overall a good meal and we would go back as previous meals were better than this one. Would recommend to others.

District is one of our prime choices for pre-theater dinner. Food is very good, people are friendly and service is generally efficient. (This evening it was especially prompt--and appreciated.) Our only suggestion would be to vary the menu a bit more. Most of the entrees--and all of the desserts--do not change much over time. Portions are modest, but very tasty.

Restaurant was loud, hard to talk. Food was average. Were looking forward to our visit and based on pictures from the website, food looked good. Appetizers were cold and it took 40 minutes to get the rolls!! Server was absent most of the time. Sides were good but fish was mushy and bland. Left most of it and server did not even ask why. I noticed a man at the next table had the same entree and did not eat his either. Dessert was good although small and still frozen. I told the server upon our arrival that this was our first visit and we were looking forward to it. She did nothing to make our visit positive. Were visitng the Palace and hoped to find a new spot for dinner. Not the case at all. :( You dropped the ball District.

Since my husband and I have season tickets to two series at Playhouse Square, we are in the theater district about twice a month. We are overjoyed at how great District is. Our food was excellent. The salads were crisp and tasty. We both had the filet which was perfectly cooked with excellent seasonings. It is easy to time a leisurely meal before a production because the restaurant is attuned to play schedules. This is a great place for eating before a show and any time else!

We were really looking forward to a great dinner before our show and unfortunately the food was just sub-par. We ordered the chicken teriyaki and the flat iron steak and each dish was lacking in seasoning and balanced cooking. The veggies were raw, the steak was terrible, and both dishes were entirely under seasoned. Our waitress was having a bad night, clearly, because she only managed to come by our table a couple of times. It also took 45 minutes for our entrees to make it out of the kitchen after ordering them. The restaurant wasn't even full. If you want to try District, go, but please leave yourself plenty of room before curtain.

Went to the District for lunch with 2 friends. It's modern, clean and classy with windows all around. I ordered the Wienerschnitzel which was a flattened, lightly coated and sauteed chicken breast served with potato puree and a lemon herb vinaigrette which was a good contrast in flavors. My 2 friends had a salad special and they raved about it. We'll definitely be back.

My husband and I love Crop but wanted to try a new spot. The menu at District looked amazing. When we arrived the atmosphere was nice, however we were the ONLY diners in the entire place. (7 pm on a Sunday). The rolls we were served were hard and stale. They appeared to have been 2 day old or frozen. We ordered the beet salad and the pear salad. While they were flavorful, the greens were wilted and appeared to be more iceburg/romaine than actual greens. Next we had the mussels and the goat cheese stuffed calamari. The mussels were in a sauce rather than a broth. Calamari..Boo! The rest of the meal fell flat in many ways. The sole I ordered was dry and flavorless, the brussel sprouts frozen; the asparagus old and wilted- almost dehydrated.

There's a reason this place is one of Cleveland's best eats. We went to celebrate my birthday and a new job. The menu had a wide selection, and a three-course prix fixe menu for just $30. Located in the theatre district, it's close by to lots of different things whether you're catching a show or heading to Progressive Field for a game. The service was fantastic.
