  • "It was Easter Sunday brunch, but we were seated almost 40 minutes after our scheduled reservation! Luckily, our server had a great personality and made things much better. Will probably start going somewhere else for brunch."

  • "Fixed price menu and varied selections were a good choice for this holiday. Service was stretched on this occasion and the restaurant was busy at full capacity at noon."

  • "We used to love Dish. Unfortunately, the food and service is slipping- or it has completely slipped. We booked Easter Brunch. The service was slow and inattentive --- I realize that it was busy but the waiter pressured us to make our order as soon as we arrived, he then ignored us and our used plates and coffee cups as he buzzed around his other tables. We waited entirely too long in between the 1st and 2nd courses and the 2nd and 3rd courses. I ordered eggs benedict. The eggs were cold and the hollandaise was tepid. I'm surprised that Dish uses a hollandaise sauce that comes from a mix -- not fresh made. Basically, Dish is off my list and it will be off everyone's if it doesn't step-up. "

  • "We were finally seated at a table in a raised area. It was fine. The waiter was warm and friendly, but he had too many tables. We ordered the deviled eggs and the lamb pops. They were good. Most of us ordered some type of Benedict. They were all really good. For dessert, we chose the butterscotch bread pudding and a Nuttela mousse. The butterscotch bread pudding didn't resemble bread pudding in any way. It was a creme brulee' without the toasted sugar. I wouldn't have minded if it had been named correctly, but I really love bread pudding. The Nuttela mousse wasn't memorable. Over all, brunch was a disappointment. Our reservation was at 1:00 and we didn't leave until after 3:30. Been there, done that, don't need to go back."

  • "We went for Easter brunch and chose from the fixed menu. The food was delicious but the service was unfortunately awful. The entire tables appetizers and entrees were brought out at different times with some just receiving their entree just as another was getting their appetizer. The orders were incorrect and needed to be sent back. My husband never received his dessert despite asking for it twice before we just asked for the check and left. I do not recommend going on a holiday. Food was good so maybe on a slow night the service would be better."

  • "Love this place. Have been here 3 or 4 times and it always delivers. I've tried almost the entire menu and wouldn't frown upon a single item. The drinks and wine are solid as well. My favorite part of this restaurant is the versatility of its menu. So many different options and it's great to order a bunch of small items to share or going with the more traditional individual entrees."

  • "Menu was fun and inventive. Had great conversation with our waitress. Was our first visit and will be back to try again."

  • "The food was very good, not unusual though. Service was very good. It was so loud for my liking. Not a romantic place."

  • "Frankly Dish is hit or miss. I stop going there after a bad experience a few years ago. I reluctantly visited again with friends for brunch. the food is really good. however the mimosas were really gross. the "champagne" was so cheap and thick. a sparkling wine would be better. the service was pretty good and our waiters didnt have an attitude for a change. the clientele has changed a lot over the years, sadly."

  • "We were in Dallas for the weekend to see an art show at the SMU Museum. After doing much research i.e. reading menus on restaurant websites we chose Dish . We are home cooks who cook inventive creative cuisine every night and dine out once every two weeks. We respect a restaurant's attention to detail and the use of quality ingredients. The night before we dined at Dish we ate at a highly rated restaurant where they forgot three of the major ingredients of my wife's entree. We explained to Dishes manager what are concerns were after the previous nights fiasco and what are culinary expectations amounted to. He listened carefully and assured us that everything would be fine and it was. The dinner was delicious and the experience pleasant."

  • "We really enjoyed a dinner here while in town for the Final Four. It was nice to find a quiet neighborhood a short drive from downtown hotels. The hostess and waiter were both very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming and the food was amazing. Large portions and good flavor... The ambiance and decor were both perfect and we enjoyed the experience, all around. Definitely would recommend to anyone!"

  • "Dish is a very special place. Trendy and handsome ambiance and decor, while vibrantly casual and friendly. Super professional and engaging service and truly exceptional and creative cuisine. Everything was perfect. Great for dining any night, or for a special event."

  • "Strikingly modern interior; nice bar area. tables and banquettes. Go early if you wish to have conversations with your table mates. Food very good; makes for a nice neighborhood go-to place for a non celebratory evening."

  • "My husband had the Porkchop and it was fantastic. I had the macaroni and cheese with chicken and it was a little too rich to eat as my course. The specialty bar drinks were really well done. Overall, we really enjoyed this restaurant and will be back with friends."

  • "I loved Dish this last Sunday and had a great time at the drag show! We went to the 10:30am seating, so it was a bit more tame than the later seating (please note this if you're taking a parent). Food and service were wonderful and seamless in caring for us! The ladies gave top notch performances, but if you are offended easliy.......well, don't brunch in the Gayborhood!"

  • "The food and service were good, but as a party of 10 we were having to yell at each other. So loud in the restaurant!"

  • "I enjoyed Dish very much. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overly so. The food was delicious and enjoyable, from the appetizer and entrée to the dessert. I recommend Dish."

  • "Best thing first- the food is outstanding. I get the spare ribs with a side of jalapeño Mac and cheese every time. Both are among the top 20 dishes I've had between LA and Vienna. They're damn good, which is why I go back so much. Unfortunately the service is so blah. I'm not "that guy" who's nasty to servers with unrealistic expectations. It's just that there's a service issue every time I go. Usually it's that it takes so long for someone to greet us and take our drink/food order. Took like 30 minutes for our waitress to come back after she dropped off our drinks and she refused to make eye contact with us! The food is outstanding though..."

  • "We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner. Our food was fantastic, service was perfect, and we loved the ambiance, minus the noise rumble in the entire room and the couple next to us, on the verge of divorce. We ordered a flat bread appetizer, a wild game dish and I ordered a fish dish. We really enjoyed our dinner. The only downside was that we were too close to our fellow diners. This was a very negative experience for us. The couple argued, treated each other so disrespectfully, and it broke our hearts. . It cast a dark shadow and they were so loud, that we couldn't even carry on our own conversation. We sat at the booths along the wall, to the right when you enter. Perhaps a table in the center would be a different place."

  • "As usual our dining experience was top notch. The appetizer (lamb lollipops) and soups were delicious. I had the salmon for entrée which was outstanding in taste and presentation. My husband's pork chop, usually fantastic, was too salty (too long in the brine?) and was quickly switched out for another dish. The server and manager were very apologetic and made up for the salty pork quickly and appropriately."

  • "My first dining experience at Dish was unbelievable! From valet to gourmet, they know how to make an ordinary business dinner something special for all involved. I had The Bar Steak while one of my associates had BBQ Short-rib Flatbread and the other had Jumbo Diver Sea Scallops. It was basically a toppas of sorts with all of the sharing and second nibbles. Do yourself a favor and get to Dish if you want to impress yourself or anyone else."

  • "The management here always keeps it interesting with marvelous menu changes while maintaining most of their very tasty standards. Recently they have made some changes to their interiors that are definitely an improvement. They have removed the drapes covering the windows on the side-street side of the dinning area. They also added drop curtains and sliding glass doors to help separate part of the dinning room and the private dinning area from the lively bar area. If needed and appropriate, all of these curtains and doors can be withdrawn to increase the size of the main dinning area. When there are large mixers going on in the bar and patio area, it really helps to cut down on the noise in the available dinning area. Bravo!!"

  • "This was our fifth time at Dish, the calamari appetizer was delicious, the salmon entree was cooked perfectly, and the caramel dessert was exceptional! The service and atmosphere was delightful!"

  • "The cauliflower steak was outstanding. The food from start to finish was excellent. The restaurant has great potential to be a great night spot with music, however we were told they stopped DJ nights. They need to update their website to reflect this. We went for a birthday celebration and I informed the restaurant, however they did not care. The service was good thanks to a great waitress."

  • "Lived in uptown until about 15 months ago and was in Dish most every week. Never had a bad meal. Went back Saturday for an early dinner. The Ceasar salad came. Lettuce was warm, same color as croutons and bland. My guest and I picked around and tried to eat some of it thinking how odd that was for Dish. When our server came to retrieve the plates we told her how disappointed we were. She mentioned it to the manager who came out with a lovely piece of butter lettuce on a plate to tell us there was nothing wrong with the salad. How mistaken was he! If we had been served that lettuce we would been pleased. If he had said, sorry and taken the salads off the menu, we would have been pleased. Instead he underlined poor food quality as acceptable."

  • "We love Dish and have been coming here for years. The food is consistently delicious and the service attentive without being obtrusive. Good cocktail list, too! One small quibble: they really need to do something about the way too low banquettes in the one large seating area to the left of the bar. They make you look like a 5 year-old trying to sit at the Big People Table. Your arms hardly reach the table height. It gets fairly uncomfortable after awhile. Hope Dish considers an adjustment to this long-standing problem. Otherwise...terrific restaurant."

  • "I was in town visiting for the weekend. We went Friday night for an app and drink before heading out, went again on Saturday night and then capped off the weekend with a great Sunday Funday brunch. Yes 3 days in a row! I highly recommend this place, it's amazing!"

  • "We had a group of eight that had spent the afternoon at the Meadows Museum at SMU. It was a nice day to eat outside so we were placed in the outdoor bar space at the restaurant which had the perfect sized table for our group. We had a great wait staff, unique cocktails and awesome food as always."

  • "My wife and I met a couple of friends to celebrate birthdays. We're a little older than Dish's demographic, but felt right at home. The food was good, and I'm looking forward to going back to try some of the other dishes that looked good. And the bucket of mimosas was the best deal on brunch alcohol I've ever seen. The sparkling wine was good enough for mimosas and I really like being able to decide how much cranberry and/or orange juice to add, instead of having it mixed behind the bar. We'll definitely go back."

  • "The braised short ribs were amazing and the salmon was very good. However, the mac and cheese was below average. If you're going to put mac and cheese on your menu, make it amazing. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated immediately. The place was pretty empty, but were given a booth adjacent the kitchen some reason."

  • "The wait staff was attentive and the place was fun. It was an interesting mix of clientele. The bathrooms are a must, but not for the modest! The food was nicely plated and beautifully prepared, but way over-salted and over-seasoned. If the chef would have just let the natural flavors become the star, then everything would have been five stars, but then again, that seems to be a trend for the entire concept of Dish."

  • "Great food, horrible service on Valentines Day. Our waiter started off by asking us to please be patient as they had more than 450 reservations.... Really you over book your restaurant to bump your profit margins and then ask the customers to be patient. This after waiting an hour past our reservation time for our table."

  • "I had a handwritten note at my table upon arrival. Cocktails, food, and service we great! Dessert was the star. And complimentary valet parking. Our waiter was quite spirited and clearly enjoys his job. Will definitely be back."

  • "Dish has been recommended to us by our neighbor. The restaurant did not disappoint. It has a wide variety of selections that allows people with many diet restrictions, such as glutten free, vegetarian, a choice of many items on the menu. For those of us with hearty American tastes, the food is delicious. Outstanding, even for a meat eater, is the cauliflower steak. It did not disappoint. We will be back for sure. It is a great neighborhood gem."
