DISH - DallasExcellent First VisitI loved our dining experience at Dish! My friend and I each ordered the Chef's choice and found our meals to be absolutely delightful! Every course was delicious and the wine pairings were perfect. Our server was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and wasn't too overbearing. He allowed us to casually dine and didn't try to rush us through any course. My only complaint was that I thought the restaurant was too warm. This time had the roasted halibut with peas, mint, fiddleheads and it was outstanding - really was impressed with the way everything came together and don't think there is a better seafood dish in Dallas right now. Also had tuna crudo which was very good as well.
Ate outside on the patio which is really nice - only small annoyance is that people who leave the restaurant to smoke stand directly outside of the patio and the smoke (depending on the wind) comes back into the patio.

They went to the effort to hand write a personal card congratulating us on our anniversary and provided us complimentary glassess of prosecco. The food was very good, partciualry the salted caramel pudding. While our server was nice, overall the service was slow. Sunny and fun brunch Dish transformed into a stylish and hip dinner destination while maintaining the great food and service that keeps us coming back. Dish was admirably accommodating of our large (and noisy) group there for a birthday celebration, even including a personal note for the birthday boy. Upon arrival we were greeted and wished a "happy anniversary" immediately by 2 of the hosts. The waitress was great and offered strong recommendations. My wife took a chance on the Prix Fixe (chef's choice) and wasn't sure what to expect but she wound up loving each bite of all 3 courses. I went with the pork chop and it was equally as good. The sauce and added flavors made it a strong choice. The dessert that came with my wife's meal I hear is up for top dessert in D magazine - well it gets our vote!
If that wasn't enough, one of the managers brought over complimentary champaign for us too. A hand written card was handed to me to thank us for choosing their restaurant to celebrate my girlfriend's 30th birthday. This was very nice. The manager greeted us with a warm welcome and we like that.
We started off with the night with a cocktail and bottle of red wine suggested to us by the server Brandon. We then proceeded to have a started salad (angry greek) before our entrees. For dinner, she had the Scallops and I had the Halibut special. We were very pleased with all of the food and overall service.
We both want to say thank you from the bottom of our "foodie" hearts for the very nice evening you allowed us to have. We will be back soon.

Food was overall excellent. Service was amiable. If you are sitting next to the bar, prepare for some of the patrons to be very, shall we say, animated. If you want a quiet table, you do not want to sit by the bar. The kitchen turns out some very unique dishes, and they "work" 90% of the time. Only complaint was one of my dining companions ordered the Salmon medium rare and the waitress said they will not cook the fish this way. Someone needs to train the servers that salmon is not meat and does not need to be cooked that way. We all had a really great time and enjoyed the food and drinks. The drinks were especially amazing (my friend ordered a really complex drink and it came out so delicious!). Our server, Brandon, was just THE BEST!!!!!! We were so happy and impressed by his service. He really went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure we had a good experience at DISH. The bartender was also very nice and friendly. Overall, I really enjoyed it here. My New York strip steak wasn't cooked to order, though. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well and tough as rubber.
