Dish Bar & GrillBest Birthday YetI went to Dish for my 30th Birthday Dinner with my parents. The food was outstanding! The waiter was very attentive and was always checking in us to make sure we had everything we needed. We were so full we didn't want dessert but the Monday manager Annie brought over the deconstructed chocolate pie with 2 candles because she knew it was my birthday. What service! The free valet parking was perfect, since it was raining. The staff- friendly and extremely good at their jobs. My husband had the trio of tuna, which was outstanding. I had lamb which couldn't have been better. It is expensive, everything is extra, including bread. We chose the DISH bread, and it was really good! The desserts were really extra-special, and not too big; even you think you're full, you have to get one! The atmosphere was great, modern but comfortable. There was a band playing in the bar area, but it was not too loud, it added to the ambiance. Their mixture of steakhouse classics and more creative dishes left everyone happy. We thought the kettle chips and cheese sauce were overrated, but the tangy twist on a wedge salad with Russian dressing and radishes was fantastic, and they happily split a "kitchen sink" salad for my grandparents to share. Meat was cooked perfectly, and my mom was over the moon about her three-course lobster prix fixe. Cocktails were a highlight: my girlfriend loved her martini, made with house-infused olive-and-jalapeno vodka. Noise from Hartford traffic was just too much to be able to enjoy dinner. We moved inside for dinner and had a wonderful time. The food was delicious (as usual). Delightful meal, food and drink were FANTASTIC. Only "negative" was the comments/attitude of the server towards the women in our party. When taking orders, he started with one of the men, who in turn, suggested he start with the ladies in our party. To which the server replied "Oh first they want equal pay, equal rights, and now they want first service?" After that, he referred to the women at the table as "the troublemakers". We had pork belly tacos to start, followed by the sort rib and duck entrees. Creme brûlée for dessert. Everything was served hot from the kitchen and delicious.
