Michelin star recipient San Francisco Bay & Wine country for 2011 & 2012.

"At Dio Deka the refined and technically precise Greek and Mediterranean dishes are elevated to stellar levels.”- anonymously by the Michelin inspector

"…vividly flavored, brilliantly executed food, that transcends ethnicity but still tastes Greek…”- Gourmet Magazine

Award of Ultimate Distinction- Wine Enthusiast, Restaurant Awards

“memorable modern Greek cuisine" that “would make them jealous in Athens”, particularly when paired with an “extensive wine list” worthy of Dionysus; the five owners provide “over-the-top” service in the spirit of filoxenia (the art of hospitality) for what’s sure to be a "big fat Greek night" out. - Zagat

Diner Reviews
  • "I don't normally spend time doing reviews, but the food, ambiance, and service was so good, I had to. I can't recommend this place highly enough if you're not on a budget. Excellent overall."

  • "First time visit to Dio Deka and the experience was very good. Darryl took care of us expertly and was very gracious. Upon finding out it was our first time he brought perfectly cooked head on seasoned prawns. We split the Dolmathakia which was very savory with the beef cheek, complemented by the mushrooms and had a wonderful mouth feel. Amy ordered the Ktenia and the scallops were firm and not overcooked. The flavor of chanterelles and lemon were just enough to accent the sweet of the seared scallop. I ordered the Paithakia grilled lamb which was wonderfully medium rare with a flavorful oregano char. Dessert: traditional greek beignets. Darryl brought us glasses of paired wines and a dessert wine with coffee to finish. Awesome evening."

  • "We've been here twice and both times didn't disappoint. The staff is friendly and the food is simply terrific"

  • "We went here for a special occasion as it's fairly expensive. The food was excellent. The noise level is too high and it's unfortunate because that is something they could do something about - the acoustics are horrid. The worst part was that although the service was ok at the beginning it became very poor. We were essentially ignored until we'd finished and waited for a while before the waiter came back to ask us if we wanted desert. At that point all we wanted was the check - and to not come back!"

  • "Long story made short, I ordered the lamb. Would have been excellent but over-cooked. Also, you better want to eat fast, they like to turn their tables. Felt rushed."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Been here before. Great again, with the possible exception of the pricing. $57 for lamp chops---ala carte, no sides. Come on. Other menu items priced on the high side, but OK given the overall experience."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "The food and service were pleasant, although the food was on the verge of being too salty."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "Pretty good Greek food but there are so many good Greek restaurants now. Our waiter was a little too friendly and unfortunately not really up-to-speed on the menu or Greek food for that matter. He had great enthusiasm though. We needed a better guide. The food was a bit too spicy for us but more spicy seems to be the trend. - I would say that some of the dishes are terrific and others are ordinary. -- It was a nice night out. The place is nice. It was a little too noisy for us. -- We have eaten and Nemea downtown San Jose a couple of times and frankly they are giving Deo Deka a run for the money."

  • "If you want an unforgettable dining experience then ask for Athos...he is the best waiter!"

  • "Always a wonderful meal, with great service. Great for special and romantic occasions, but we bring the kids here too. Excellent"
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "This is our choice for Anniversary, and we are never disappointed. We usually arrive early -- 6-ish, when the restaurant isn't so full. The service is excellent, and the food is fabulous."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Lovely as usual...the food and the service are always top notch. Always my first choice in Los Gatos."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "The food is delicious and the service impeccable. On a Wednesday night it was quiet, which is often not the case on Friday or Saturday. Understated elegance in the decor. Expensive and worth it."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "We came to Dio Deko last Saturday 6/14/14 to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary via a gift card from a dear friend. Once seated, our waiter, Stephen, explained the menu dishes to us. My wife selected the petite lamb chops, with the Greek salad, which had a fantastic tasting. I decided on the Lobster salad with the Veal Porterhouse and creamed spinach. It was tender, tasty, and delicious. Our cocktails were made to our liking; Stephen helped select the wine for our dinners and the dessert plus after-dinner drinks were phenomenal. Dio Deko is the best place to eat a fantastic meal with wonderful staff tending to your dinner needs of celebrating your anniversary with your loved one or any kind of a celebration :)"

  • "Great food and service - very nice! I'd go back in a heartbeat."

  • "Too noisy inside and food was only so so. My husband was looking forward to lamb chops, which he's had there before, and they were only fair. We sat outside and that was lovely."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Dio Deka remains a classic high quality, yet not stuffy place for a special night out."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "This is a good restaurant if you are into Greek food. Beware they are very heavy on the salt. Even for Los Gatos prices seem a little high."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "This resturant is way to loud. It detracts from the great food and good service."
    Dined on 6/13/2014
  • "Food and service is always excellent! Noise level was a little loud but our group managed to still enjoy ourselves and our wine selection!"

  • "Thankfully we spent another quality evening with each other at a fabulous place. The food and service were terrific. We definately plan to return on the very near future for a repeat. "

  • "Nothing here to complain about other than why aren't you open for lunch people????? Get you act together I can eat those lamb chops 24/7"

  • "This is my 2nd time to Dio Deka in the last 2 months. The service and food were exceptional! We started with a greek white wine recommended by our server and it was perfect after a somewhat hot summer day. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer for the second time and it was equally as delicious as the first. I ordered the scallops which was fantastic! I came home and raved about it to my husband, I can't wait to go back and order it again! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend Dio Deka to anyone looking for more than a casual dining experience."

  • "Recently we went to Dio Deka and were a bit disappointed. I ordered scallops. The dish was ok, nothing special. My husband had salmon and felt it was "ok".The atmosphere was nice but we felt the food was overpriced."

  • "Excellent place , food and service like always. I recommend your restaurant to all my friend and family. "

  • "Food wasn't out of this world. It was average for a high end restaurant. No one was in shock and awe. Certain plates were a bit salty, and others like their veal had zero flavor. Great ambiance, but it was a little loud (we sat in the middle of the restaurant). It came out to about $100/person for a group of six, though we brought wine with us. "

  • "Good food, strong selection, great service. Birthday dinner was very special occasion."

  • "Yummy Perfection! From the appetizers to dessert, nothing disappoints the taste buds. Even the bread is wonderful. Also, they make a great martini!"
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "We dine out a lot but for this meal and experience to have been this memorable to us, it says a lot about the entire organization from the chef to the server's helper. Kudos to the entire team!"

  • "We used to be regulars until we moved out of state two years ago. We went back for a celebration dinner, and the food is as good as ever, and it was nice to see how the menu has evolved a little. The new chocolate dessert tart was the only disappointment but you can't go wrong if you stick with the yogurt dessert."
    Dined on 5/14/2014
  • "Our server choreographed the entire meal. We were amazed at the presentation and great flavors. Not the typical fast food Greek place. Even better than the NYC dinning spots."
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "What a pleasant experience. The food was incredible and the service spot on. We'll be back very soon for more octopus and lamb chops."
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "The lamb shank is absolutely incredible and something to come back for! The ONLY complaint i had about it was the asparagus served in it was very cold and would have been best hot. But fantastic!!!"

  • "Disappointment. We celebrated a very special occasion here. We got the worst table, despite the fact that we made reservations well in advance. When we decided to forget about the table and to focus on our occasion, the restaurant stuff kept interrupting offering excuses and alternatives - I mean "no" when I say it. First they were out of dorada, then they still had some, then they said I'd get branzino instead, then back to dorada - it was terribly dry and not fresh. The same story with the wine. I was confused what I'm eating and drinking. No fish utensils. Coffee came before the sweets, no clue what sauce came with my fish, they wanted to bring my starter with my main course. The place for people with tick wallets and no style. "

  • "Great food, great wine, and wonderful service. We live closer to Evvia in Palo Alto, and so go there often, but this place is the only one I know of that can perhaps to Evvia. It's worth the drive for us on very special occasions."

  • "The Michelin star got me to try this Mediterranean style restaurant. The ambience was okay, but a bit slick for my tastes. The emphasis appeared to be on appearance, not authenticity. Wait staff were hip and beautiful, but left me feeling a bit a bit cold. They spent more time telling me how great everything was, but not really being great, just kind of pretty and pricey. The mussel & calamari appetizer was a bit rubbery and over done. Not bad mind you, but not what I would say came anywhere near warranting a Michelin star. My whoe fish was adequately prepared, but nothing special, and looked awfully lonely on it's plate, and way over priced. The swiss chard I ordered to go with it was well steamed, but again overpriced. "

  • "Incredible food and wine list. You've got to order the Brussel sprouts. Darrel is the waiter of choice. The chocolate tart is the dessert to order. The wine list is voluminous with special attention to Old World wines. Try the Bjornstad chardonnay, great value and mighty tasty. The Muscat dessert wine tops off the evening."
