  • "Server was excellent he helped us with excellent wine choices to accompany our meal, he was pleasant and very informative. I enjoyed my lamb dinner more than my spouse enjoyed his rib eye. The rib eye was seasoned with some kind of mint seasoning and it threw off the beef taste for us. We loved our wines and lobster salad as our appetizer. We did not have dessert. It was kinda pricey but reasonable for a special night out."

  • "First time visit to Dio Deka and the experience was very good. Darryl took care of us expertly and was very gracious. Upon finding out it was our first time he brought perfectly cooked head on seasoned prawns. We split the Dolmathakia which was very savory with the beef cheek, complemented by the mushrooms and had a wonderful mouth feel. Amy ordered the Ktenia and the scallops were firm and not overcooked. The flavor of chanterelles and lemon were just enough to accent the sweet of the seared scallop. I ordered the Paithakia grilled lamb which was wonderfully medium rare with a flavorful oregano char. Dessert: traditional greek beignets. Darryl brought us glasses of paired wines and a dessert wine with coffee to finish. Awesome evening."

  • "We went here for a special occasion as it's fairly expensive. The food was excellent. The noise level is too high and it's unfortunate because that is something they could do something about - the acoustics are horrid. The worst part was that although the service was ok at the beginning it became very poor. We were essentially ignored until we'd finished and waited for a while before the waiter came back to ask us if we wanted desert. At that point all we wanted was the check - and to not come back!"

  • "Pretty good Greek food but there are so many good Greek restaurants now. Our waiter was a little too friendly and unfortunately not really up-to-speed on the menu or Greek food for that matter. He had great enthusiasm though. We needed a better guide. The food was a bit too spicy for us but more spicy seems to be the trend. - I would say that some of the dishes are terrific and others are ordinary. -- It was a nice night out. The place is nice. It was a little too noisy for us. -- We have eaten and Nemea downtown San Jose a couple of times and frankly they are giving Deo Deka a run for the money."

  • "We came to Dio Deko last Saturday 6/14/14 to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary via a gift card from a dear friend. Once seated, our waiter, Stephen, explained the menu dishes to us. My wife selected the petite lamb chops, with the Greek salad, which had a fantastic tasting. I decided on the Lobster salad with the Veal Porterhouse and creamed spinach. It was tender, tasty, and delicious. Our cocktails were made to our liking; Stephen helped select the wine for our dinners and the dessert plus after-dinner drinks were phenomenal. Dio Deko is the best place to eat a fantastic meal with wonderful staff tending to your dinner needs of celebrating your anniversary with your loved one or any kind of a celebration :)"

  • "This is my 2nd time to Dio Deka in the last 2 months. The service and food were exceptional! We started with a greek white wine recommended by our server and it was perfect after a somewhat hot summer day. We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer for the second time and it was equally as delicious as the first. I ordered the scallops which was fantastic! I came home and raved about it to my husband, I can't wait to go back and order it again! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend Dio Deka to anyone looking for more than a casual dining experience."

Great ambiance, but it was a little loud (we sat in the middle of the restaurant). It came out to about $100/person for a group of six, though we brought wine with us. "

  • "Disappointment. We celebrated a very special occasion here. We got the worst table, despite the fact that we made reservations well in advance. When we decided to forget about the table and to focus on our occasion, the restaurant stuff kept interrupting offering excuses and alternatives - I mean "no" when I say it. First they were out of dorada, then they still had some, then they said I'd get branzino instead, then back to dorada - it was terribly dry and not fresh. The same story with the wine. I was confused what I'm eating and drinking. No fish utensils. Coffee came before the sweets, no clue what sauce came with my fish, they wanted to bring my starter with my main course. The place for people with tick wallets and no style. "

  • "The Michelin star got me to try this Mediterranean style restaurant. The ambience was okay, but a bit slick for my tastes. The emphasis appeared to be on appearance, not authenticity. Wait staff were hip and beautiful, but left me feeling a bit a bit cold. They spent more time telling me how great everything was, but not really being great, just kind of pretty and pricey. The mussel & calamari appetizer was a bit rubbery and over done. Not bad mind you, but not what I would say came anywhere near warranting a Michelin star. My whoe fish was adequately prepared, but nothing special, and looked awfully lonely on it's plate, and way over priced. The swiss chard I ordered to go with it was well steamed, but again overpriced. "

The wine list is voluminous with special attention to Old World wines. Try the Bjornstad chardonnay, great value and mighty tasty. The Muscat dessert wine tops off the evening."
