A word from Dio Deka
Michelin star recipient San Francisco Bay & Wine country for 2011 & 2012.

"At Dio Deka the refined and technically precise Greek and Mediterranean dishes are elevated to stellar levels.”- anonymously by the Michelin inspector

"…vividly flavored, brilliantly executed food, that transcends ethnicity but still tastes Greek…”- Gourmet Magazine

Award of Ultimate Distinction- Wine Enthusiast, Restaurant Awards

“memorable modern Greek cuisine" that “would make them jealous in Athens”, particularly when paired with an “extensive wine list” worthy of Dionysus; the five owners provide “over-the-top” service in the spirit of filoxenia (the art of hospitality) for what’s sure to be a "big fat Greek night" out. - Zagat

Diner Reviews
  • "The ambience and service were good but what made it remarkable was the food. Fresh ingredients, deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. Absolutely fabulous. We had spanakopita and octopus for appetizers. The Greek salad and beet salad for a first course and then split the black cod entree. Finished off with coffee and loukamades (sp?). Everything was great."

  • "Every time I'm in town, my friends/family and I meet up here. GREAT food (try the lamb chops), GREAT service. Enjoy!"

  • "Nestled in downtown Los Gatos in a beautiful building, a wonderful wine-list (Thank you Stratton!), great hospitality and amazing food. Need I say more?"

  • "We've been there several times and have never been disappointed. They are known for their lamb. I was hesitant to order it because if it's not cooked correctly it can be gamey. It was cooked to perfection. Fell right off the bone. Service is always friendly. We've never felt rushed or like we're waiting forever. We've never brought our kids but have seen other children there. Of course we didn't know they were there until we were leaving so I would say as long as you have an older or very well behaved children you're fine."

  • "Wouldn't take my dog, but would take my best friend, wife, girlfriend, significant other or anyone else that enjoys great Greek food, excellent service and a desert to kill for. I have been many times and will go again. Thanks Dio Deka"

  • "The food quality, presentation, and delivery was all excellent. I am jumping to the food because the server was somewhat short on pleasing engagement, to the extent that we felt as though the server felt the menu sold itself and was not required to explain anything. Questions were met with somewhat arrogant facial expressions, yet friendly verbal responses. For a michelin start restaurant I would expect the service a bit more professional and buttoned up. The wait staff help was very attentive, and we never went asking or looking for anyone. All orders, from food to wine were delivered promptly, and we were left to feel comfortable taking our time with our meal. It is worth visiting, and I would return, as well as recommend."

  • "We tried several restaurants in the area and price range, and this was the best for food, menu choices, service, and atmosphere. A pleasure to be there."

  • "a 100% great experience ... but, beware, bring sufficient $$$"

  • "Mussels are a must along with the Greek salad and chops."

  • "What can I say. The Seafood is outstanding and the service is superb. This is our favorite restaurant."
    Dined on 3/26/2014
  • "My friend enjoyed the Greek salad and the superb lamb chops. I had the Branzino and fennel soup. both outstanding. Great Greek wines by the glass as well."

  • "This was not the first time to Dio Deka for us. But we always go back with pleasure. We know we can count on a solid standard of quality and creativity for the food. The menu has not changed too much (only sorry there was not the pig any more). But the style hasn't changed and. Still consider this the best Greek restaurant in the area. We enjoyed the appetizers (the octopus is a always a treat, but this time we discover the excellent beans) All the main courses were up to expectations as was the dessert. The wine list is excellent. Looking forward to the next visit!"

  • "Our experience with Dio Deka has been on a continuous downward trend with the service going from good to very poor and the quality of the food from very good to just about ok. At the same time prices continue to go up and are in no way in line with the quality of the experience. Unless we here that something significant changes, we won;t be back - and this used to be one of our favorite restaurants."

  • "We have eaten at this place before and the food is consistently good. Sometimes the flavor of the sauces can be overbearing as in the moussaka I had this time."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Dinner was quite good at dio deko. Prices were very high. The appetizers were tasty but small portions. The service was good. We ordered bottled water and our glasses were refilled with each sip. The entrees were cooked well but high on the salty side. The bread was ok. They cut it into small pieces that are too salty."

  • "The place is great for family/groups for a nicer night out, but a little tricky if you want to bring someone here for special occasion/romantic date. The food is acceptable. There is not a lot of choices for food. The choices do not appear to differentiate well among themselves either. The quality of the dishes I ordered were acceptable for the price range. They do have a long list of wine available. If you are a wine lover, you will probably be better off bring your own favorite vintage. The location of this restaurant is great. Therefore it is safe to have a short walk after dinner. The drawback of this place is the table arrangements. The tables are too close to one another & you can hear what others are talking about."

  • "Great food, but be prepared - expensive! The two of us had appetizer sampler, soup, ice tea - $100 with tip."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "good, but overpriced for what you get. appetizer was small, but tasty. Similarly food I had in Kokkari and Evvia and it was cheaper and the same quality. I liked it,but I would go next time to Evvia or Kokkari for Greek food."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Entrees are pricey. If you would like to give it a try, but aren't prepared to blow your budget, you can easily fill up on tasty small plates, soup, salad and.or side dishes. The warm, salted pita bread they bring to the table is yummy and free!"

  • "Great new items including the sun choke appetizers and Brussels sprouts with the fresh egg. I dare to declare: Best lamb chops in the country"

  • "had the chicken and tasted the lamb chops. they were both exquisite entrees. outstanding service as well. this place does not get enough recognition as places in San Francisco do"
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "The service was excellent. The food was delicious, particularly considering the chef prepared two awesome vegetarian entrees for us with no fuss. The restaurant space is good, not packing the tables too close together. The personal touch on the dessert for our anniversary was icing on the cake. I will recommend Dio Deka to my friends without hesitation."

  • "Took my GF here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner. Food was great as always and we had a wonderful time."
    Dined on 2/17/2014
  • "For appitizers, we shared a greek salad and an order of spanakotiropita. For entrees, we both had steaks (filet and new york) and shared sides of gigantica, grilled romaine, and roasted potatoes. For desert, Sokalatas, a chocolate cream with figs, chocolate crumble, and pomegranate. The food was fantastic, but longer time than we care for between appitizers and entrees and entrees and desert."

  • "Food and service are good. Not over the top but overall good experience. A bit crowded w/o dedicated reception area, you may have to sit right in front of the entrance. Hotel bell man was nice, too, knew my car and immediately brought it to the front before even being asked to do so when we came out from the restaurant. The location is also nice, one of the best in LG in my opinion, just across the street from LGHS' large green front yard. Probably a reason why I see many weddings here."

  • "If you are rich, powerful, influential this is the place for you. This restaurant is fabulous, great wine, great food, great people"

  • "We enjoyed everything we tried here. The mixed appetizer was tasty (the ribs the best part). The sunchoke salad with homemade goat cheese was enjoyable and the lamb chop mixed with pureed spinach and perfectly crisp potatoes was amazing. The only downside is the price relative to the portion size. Otherwise we would be here every month."

  • "Food was very good, but I felt it was very overpriced. $51 for a petite filet that came on the plate as just a piece of meat, with no vegetables, no starch, nothing but a small filet seems excessive."
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "Being vegetarians, we were very happy to see the amount of attention they gave to make our food especially good. This restaurant is pricy, but for special occasions it is the place to celebrate"

  • "Dio Deka scores high marks on all levels. From the moment you walk in until the time you walk out, the service, ambience, food, and experience is wonderful. If you are an octopus fan, the grill octopus was perfectly cooked with a nice char on the outside. Even their pita had a great char that added to the flavor. As for dinner, you can't go wrong with any of the dishes."

  • "We go to DIO DEKA about once a month. The food is always wonderful as is the service. The lamb is always outstanding as is the bone in filet. If you are in Los Gatos looking for a great meal, this is your place!"

  • "This was out first time here - usually go to Evvia for Greek food. We encountered an issue with being seated but the management went above and beyond to make it right. I really have to give them credit for all they did to promptly resolve the issue. The remainder of our evening was wonderful! Great food and service. We'll be repeat customers."

  • "Dio Deka is a fabulous restaurant! The food was top notch, delicious and not complicated. I plan to go back and enjoy other items on the menu that look enticing. By the way- best bakalava I ever had."

  • "Traditional Greek food with the refinement of modern cuisine. Exceptional presentation and service. We can't wait to return."
    Dined on 1/15/2014
  • "Lovely restaurant but over the top expensive. there are lots of places that have very good food without charging $60 for a big steak. The Greek food is of course very good. Octopus is excellent. We stuck to appetizers which were ample. I don't think we will go back any time soon"

  • "I like to eat at the bar, and was immediately greeted by a nice couple and the bartender. A great start to a nice evening. I started with a nice Pino with muscles and calamari. Excellent, very fresh and flavorful. Nice Mediterranean flavors. Then for my entree the bone-in filet (quite pricey) but worth the wait. The bartender provided a complimentary dish of grilled octopus and a fresh glass of wine for the added wait. Thank you. For desert I had an amazing pastry filled with a light custard and a large spoonful of a delicious tangerine flavored gelato with small slices of tangerines scattered on the plate. Nice way to finish a meal. I can't say enough about the service and the food. Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We arrived on time for our reservation , waited for 45 minutes to get a table. We waited at the bar , it took more 25 minutes to get our drinks. At the table , the staff were always in a hurry, While the good was good , we did not get value for the money given the service. Very disappointing."

  • "The food was superb. The Brussel Sprouts Appetizer is to die for, Lamb chops and Lavkari (fish) were just amazing. However, if going there for a special occasion, romantic dinner, this place is very noisy, more than normal. Tables are very close together and one can hear other conversations. But I would go back again, for the food, and perhaps request a quieter table, in a corner??"
