A word from Dio Deka
Michelin star recipient San Francisco Bay & Wine country for 2011 & 2012.

"At Dio Deka the refined and technically precise Greek and Mediterranean dishes are elevated to stellar levels.”- anonymously by the Michelin inspector

"…vividly flavored, brilliantly executed food, that transcends ethnicity but still tastes Greek…”- Gourmet Magazine

Award of Ultimate Distinction- Wine Enthusiast, Restaurant Awards

“memorable modern Greek cuisine" that “would make them jealous in Athens”, particularly when paired with an “extensive wine list” worthy of Dionysus; the five owners provide “over-the-top” service in the spirit of filoxenia (the art of hospitality) for what’s sure to be a "big fat Greek night" out. - Zagat

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Los Gatos for our 27 wedding anniversary. I made reservations with the hotel front desk and in our conversation, I told the Consier that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. She must have made a note of it. When we arrived, we were greeted with menus that said, "Happy Anniversaey"! Then our waiter, Tony, was awesome! He greeted us with saying, 'Happy Anniversary". He was very attentive and the whole staff made us feel special. The food was great. Moussaka was very delicious my husband loved the lamb chops. Nice variety in menu selection. Highly recommend reservation at least a week in advance.

I've been to Dio Deka twice now and both times had about the same experience. It's a beautiful spot in a great location. The food is just "ok". If you expect outstanding, go to Evvia - at Dio Deka you're going to get above average. The scallops were overly salty, the steak is some of the most expensive in the bay area, but nothing special... the Lamb is probably the best thing on the menu, but again, nothing to knock your socks off. The service is where things really fall short. The food runners are trying to keep up so hard they quickly set down plates at the corner of your table and scurry off, instead of trying to "serve" the plate. It was kind of bizarre for a $600 dinner for 4 people to have such lackluster service. Meh.

Let me start by saying, the food at Dio Deka is phenominal. We arrived 40 minutes early for our reservation so we decided to sit outside and have a drink while we waited. It took about 15 minutes before anyone noticed we were there. Menus were brought and set on the table in front of us. 5 minutes later we ordered drinks. It took 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Meanwhile, our reservation time arrived. Nobody came to seat us and our waitress had disappeared. Finally we were able to locate our waitress and we asked her if our table was ready. She told us to go to the host stand and ask. Long story short, we didn't think we should have to do so much work at a restaurant where we would be spending over $300 on a meal!

We've been to Dio Deka several times before, but I'm not if we'll be going back any time soon. The food is great, but not outstanding. The service was really not good. Our server was not attentive and had a bit of an attitude. If it were a third to 2/3of the cost I'd probably consider going back. At the current rates, it is just not worth it.

Dio was the 'it' place when it opened and it's high quality food and service lasted quite a while. Dio these days is still good, it's just not great. The service is good when not too busy but gets thin when the place fills up and seems understaffed. The biggest difference is that the food used to be fantastic and now it's just good but the same price, if not more.

Dio Deka is a wonderful Greek restaurant with amazing food, lively ambiance, and excellent service. We enjoy dining there anytime, but also for special events such as birthdays and anniversaries. Try the Branzino which is flown from the Mediterranean fresh daily, or the wonderful lamb. The yogurt dessert with Greek honey is a favorite.

We came here for our anniversary. Everyone loved their dish, except for me. I ordered the pork. What was I thinking? Dio Deka does lamb better than any other restaurant I've been to, and our guests raved about their lamb shank and lamb chops. My pork was dry, hard, and tough. We will definitely venture back and stick with the tried and true lamb. The service was outstanding and we love the setting.

Went there for our anniversary. I remember it from a few years ago as a great place to go. Everything was very good, except it seemed that they put an entire salt shaker into every dish. Should have sent the food back. Doubt I will ever go back again. No need to sped that kind of money for salty food.

I can't count how many times I've come here and just been blown away by how amazing everything is. The food was perfect (per usual), the staff was very helpful and quick to refill water/pita bread. Being that this was an anniversary dinner, they made it really special by telling us "happy anniversary" not only verbally, but it was also printed on the menus. If this was my last meal on earth, i would be a happy man. Thank you Dio Deka!

I've eaten here several times - with a large group, a group of four and most recently with just my husband. It was top notch every time and the food was consistently outstanding. The grilled octopus starter is to die for, the brussels sprouts (even without the bacon) were outstanding and the honey was divine. I had the brazino as the main course and it was perfectly done, a very good portion, and the potatoes are to die for. Ending the night with the loukoumathes (Greek beignets) was the perfect choice. I'll definitely be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Dio Deka. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Hotel Los Gatos and the ambiance is inviting. The staff, without exception, were gracious and welcoming. Our waiter was superb and helpful. The food, from the delicious pita bread and selection of Greek dips to two of the most wonderful steaks we have ever had, was exquisite and memorable. Our waiter did not push expensive wine on us. Upon hearing we would share one glass of wine with our meal, he recommended a superb Pinot Noir that complemented the meal perfectly. It was a 10 out of 10 evening. We will definitely return.

Dio Deka had a Michelin star until 2012. So last week, being in Los Gatos we decided to give it a try to see how they are doing at the moment. The Greek inspired menu provided good choice with interesting options. The food itself was well prepared and the service friendly and forthcoming. All in all quite good but definitely not a restaurant back on track to returning to Michelin star status. While tasty, there was no "whoa"-moment and there really was nothing innovative. So for a 150 dollar per person we left not disappointed but in the knowledge that DioDeka will probably not return to the little red book any time soon. That being said I'd recommend the place for a nice dinner or small celebrations.

I have been here few years back when they won the Michelin Star rating. Was worried this time as they have since then lost the rating. On top of it, it was my invite with my colleagues and families. It was successful evening! My guests enjoyed the service and the food, though I must say the dessert was wanting a bit after our great experience with dessert at The Plumed Horse in Saratoga. The wine was great and the service was great as well. Moussaka was perfect! So, were all the appetizers. However, I am not sure I will go back as I really like to have good dessert at the end and that was an area they fell short - didn't like the Greek Beignets.

A little over-pricey, but the service was great and the food was great. We noticed a lot of business dinners going around. There is a slight dress code, business casual, just no shorts and sandals allowed. Because the price is pretty high, plus the portions are small, we would only go for special occasions.

The food at Dio Deka was absolutely amazing! Expensive, but worth it! We both had the lamb chops for our main course, and I could not fault one thing! The sauce and marinade made the meat taste like ambrosia. The potatoes were little, lemony and crisp! And the spinach was delightful. We had the lobster salad special for a starter, which was simply marvellous! And the ribs were great, too - but not as good as the lobster! We brought our own wine, but the wine list looked full and had a lot of variety. Highly recommend Dio Deka, but just know that our meal with two starters and two main courses and our own wine (with corkage charge) was over $200 for 2.

We wanted to go somewhere new to us for our anniversary celebration. It did not disappoint. We had been warned about noise level, but it was fine perhaps because there were a couple empty tables near us. The dining room was a little darker than necessary. Outside seating with heat lamps looked desirable. Our waiter was attentive and made helpful recommendations. We loved everything we ordered: spinach phyllo pastry had a nice touch of dill; moussaka, grilled lamb chops. And happily, we saved room for dessert: burnt honey mousse (amazing!) and chocolate caramel tart. They were also thoughtful to add a couple beignets as an anniversary surprise. I would be delighted to come here again.

Server was excellent he helped us with excellent wine choices to accompany our meal, he was pleasant and very informative. I enjoyed my lamb dinner more than my spouse enjoyed his rib eye. The rib eye was seasoned with some kind of mint seasoning and it threw off the beef taste for us. We loved our wines and lobster salad as our appetizer. We did not have dessert. It was kinda pricey but reasonable for a special night out.
