Low-brow, eat-with-the-fingers, fun. Everything's very tasty. Definitely a place to go if you want to gorge yourself and throw caution to the wind. The wait staff is friendly. The place is always jumping, so make a reservation if you can. Glad that we did because it was super crowded with people waiting. Our table was ready and our waitress was prompt. Ordered the skirt steak, which was delicious, with mac and cheese (average) and sweet potatoes(pretty good). Spouse had rib and brisket combo. Brisket also delicious and tender. Ribs could have been more tender but still had good taste. The atmosphere is superb and the food is incredible. I am a vegetarian, but I always find delicious options. The macaroni and cheese is outstanding and I have been known to go just for that! We like to sit in the bar area and I have always had a great experience. However, our server seemed weeded even though there were not a lot of tables. However, she appeared to be the only server in the bar area. There were 2 bartenders on and they were also very slow. We only ordered beers and single liquor drinks, but it took several minutes to get it. They seemed more interested in chatting with each other and had no sense of urgency. The place was packed. There was a lot of energy it's a really good weekend spot. The food was good, the service was great and we got seated right away. My wife and I are both pescetarians (i.e. we don't eat any meat or chicken but we do eat fish). As such, we typically don't go to Bar-B-Que restaurants. However, we went to dinosaur Bar-B-Que based on the recommendation of another pescetarian who assured us that there would be plenty of choices.
Both my wife and I had the Portabella Mushroom burger platters with two sides each. I had the curried succotash and the iceberg salad wedge with their bar-b-que dressing (a yummy mixture of blue cheese dressing with bar-b-que sauce). The food was terrific.
The servers are very friendly and the restaurant is energetic (in a good way). The volume was reasonable!1/1/2013 12:00:00 AM
