"WE WENT TO THE WOODLANDS EXPECTING A FABULOUS DINNER. WHEN WE ARRIVED ON A SATURDAY EVENING, THERE WAS ONLY ONE OTHER COUPLE IN THE DINING ROOM. THIS WAS A 7 PM. THIS REALLY SURPRISED THE FOUR OF US. WE WERE CELEBRATING TWO BIRTHDAYS, AND RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE. THE APPETIZERS WERE A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. EVEN THO, WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE USING ORGANIC AND LOCALLY GROWN VEGETABLES, WE FOUND THE SALAD LIMP AND TASTELESS. TWO OF US HAD HALIBUT, A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF FISH WAS PRESENTED, BUT ONCE AGAIN BLAND AND TASTELESS. THE "POMME FRITES" SERVED FOR THE TABLE WAS A JOKE. WE HAVE BEEN TO MANY FINE RESTAURANTS IN CHARLESTON, THESE LOOKED LIKE THEY ARRIVED FROM BURGER KING. THE CHEESECAKE WAS DRY AND UNEXPECTED."

"FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED IN THE DINING AREA SERVICE WAS POOR. OUR SERVER WAS NOT AT ALL RECEPTIVE. WE BROUGHT OUR OWN WINE BECAUSE THE WINE LIST WAS NOT AVAILABLE ON-LINE. THE SERVER GAVE THE IMPRESSION HE WAS IRRITATED AT THE NEED TO OPEN THE WINE. WE WERE NOT INFORMED ON ARRIVAL THAT THE STEAK MY WIFE ORDERS WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. SHE DOES NOT EAT DUCK AND LAMB. THE ONLY SEAFOOD AVAILABLE WAS "STRIPED BASS". MY MEMORY TELLS ME THE FISH IS A FRESH WATER FISH. THERE WERE NO "CHEF'S SPECIAL". I WAS VERY SUPRISED AT THIS"FIVE STAR" RESTAURANT AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.
THE EVENING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BIRHTDAY CELEBRATION FOR MY WIFE OF 40 YEARS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO PASS BY SUMMERVILLE ON THE WAY TO VISIT CHARLESTON OR KIAWAH."

"Our dining experience was mixed. It was a slow evening with a small group in the special reserved room, and few diners in the main dining room, which is truly a beautiful room with grand windows looking to the garden. It took 14 minutes for our cocktails to arrive, but they were outstanding. We had many versions of choices for diner. My pasta was thickly cut, under cooked and chewy/tough--but was made there. I was sorry to see something so simple turn out this way. On the other hand, my lamb was possibly the best I have had in years--perfect in every respect. My friend's steak was also excellent as was his lobster. Desert was also good, wines also. 4 stars for food except pasta--5 stars for lamb."
