A word from DiNardo's Famous Seafood
DiNardo’s is the place to have your shell-cracking, claw-sucking, crab-eating feast. Steamed Louisiana crabs are served “hot and dirty” (known as Baltimore style), and other seafood specialties such as jumbo shrimp, fresh stuffed flounder, steamed mussels, and clams. Chicken, steaks, and pasta also are served.

  • "My wife and I chose DiNardo's because it was a Friday in Lent. The food we ordered was good, but very plain for the price. I though for a restaurant it was too bright from the lighting. The hostess and waitress were great but my overall experience for my first time there was average."

  • "I really didnt want to give a review but I wanted others to understand what they would be getting themselves into by dining at DiNardos. The restaurant is not recommended for romantic or business setting. Think of going to the diner and thats what you get. The bloody mary was delicious but the food was tasteless. We even ordered their 37 year specialty plates. For the $90 bill we were both disappointed and sadly won't return. The staff were super friendly but the drinks and staff alone are not enough to justify the price. In a city were the food is amazing and there are many choices to eat out at DiNardo's should evaluate their tasteless food and prices to keep customers coming back."

  • "We ordered crabs with Old Bay seasoning and then Garlic crabs. The seasonings on both the old bay and garlic crabs were overwehelming for both of us. However, after the old bay seasoning was rinsed, they were fine.. The garlic crabs we just shook off the garlic. These were more tasty."

  • "Made a reservation for dinner on a Friday night. They did not even look up to confirm the reservation and seated us in the outside section by the bar rather than in the dining room. Pescatore was just OK with the scallops cold (thankfully the white sauce was hot), clams chewy, mussels sandy, and the shrimp in short supply. Fried shrimp my wife had were just OK also. The staff was pleasant but the waitress did not even ask if we wanted dessert.......just handed us the check."

  • "Seated in the front gives a great view of all of the incoming traffic. It is always a grand mix. Snapper soup was good with sherry and the special soup of the night was good as well. Five oysters for 12.50 is about right. No crabs was disappointing but the fried flounder was fresh and outstanding. Liked the baked potatoes and even ate the green beans. Missed the crabs but will return."

  • "My shrimp were awesome, substituted fries for coleslaw awesome. Could have eaten more. Seafood salad to go was very awesome and tasty. I asked for it to be separated and they did exactly as I asked and I'm glad they did, because I didn't go straight home and it would've been a soggy mess by the time I got to it. I enjoyed that as much as the shrimp and I plan on coming back. Everything was fantastic I came for restaurant week but I actually ordered off the regular menu and I'm glad I made that choice. I just had ankle surgery so it will be at least a month or two before I can get back down and that will be my treat to myself to come in and enjoy the fantastic food again thank you so much for having me"

  • "I rarely write reviews. However, in this case I felt compelled. When we arrived, there was a half eaten plate of something on our table. We showed it to the server. He was not shocked, appalled, or surprised, which should have been our first clue. During the evening, we had not one, not two, but three dirty glasses. The steamed clams were cold. The melted butter .... well, I don't think it was butter. The famous snapper soup tasted of the corn starch they had clearly used to thicken it. The crab balls had little crab in them. And to top it all off, the service was so slow. In fact, we waited nearly ten minutes just to pay! Please, do yourself a favor, and go ANYWHERE else."

  • "I hadn't been to DiNardo's in a number of years so I hadn't realized how downhill it had gone. I ordered a salmon and asked them to put it on a salad instead of the usual baked potato, which they were happy to do since they have a variety of salads on their menu. Unfortunately, there was not one drop of flavor to the salmon whatsoever. And the salad consisted of a plate of iceberg lettuce and a hardboiled egg. It was more like something I would get at a diner instead of a nice restaurant (not to mention I was paying $24 for it). The other members of my party ordered scallops, shrimp, and oysters which they said were fine but not particularly impressive. It was the kind of food we could make at home, but it was a $200 dinner."

  • "New Year's Eve was my first time dining at Dinardo's. I have heard great reviews about this landmark restaurant for years and have wanted to try it for some time. We also chose Dinardo's for a New Year's Eve Dinner because it was so close to Delaware Avenue and we could walk 2 blocks to see the Fireworks. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly hostess. Our table was almost ready, so we ordered a drink at the bar. The bartender said hello and he was quick to take our drink orders. We were promptly seated at our table. Our Waiter was very personable and efficient. I ordered the Crab Imperial, which was very tasty. My dinner companions also enjoyed their entrees. We definitely recommend this restaurant and we plan on returning soon."

  • "I've been to DiNardo's on several occasions. Quite simply, it is where you go for dependable crabs and even more so when they're (crabs) in season. Yes, all the reviews you read will mention the decor is from a dated time period, but it's a crab house - pure and simple ... You want fancy, go somewhere else. If you're willing to spend some extra coin - you should sample other items from the menu. When I was there Saturday night, we ordered the the Broiled Seafood Combination (comes with crab legs!) and the bride had the stuffed lobster tails. Both orders were bountiful, cooked to perfection and priced at $36 and $48 respectively. When you want old school seafood, go here."

  • "I love Dinardo's food. Out of the many times I've visited, I've only ordered the all you can eat crabs once. I went with a friend of mine and we both received our own plate of crabs. This particular time, I visited with my mom and my 3 sisters. Out of the 4 of us, 3 of us ordered the all you can eat crabs at $38 a pop. It threw me off when the waiter came out with one platter of crabs that had about 8 crabs on it (maybe 10). A bit frustrated, I asked the waiter why and he said that was restauratn policy which I thought was a rip off being as though you just received over $160 for our bill. Although he was quite thourough in bringing out more crabs, I was making sure that I did not eat more crabs than the others at the table."

  • "When in Olde City Philadelphia, do not miss DiNardo's especially if you love Hard Shell Crabs or any type of crabs. DiNardo's is an institution in Philly and rightly so. Aside from their crabs, they have a wonderful lunch and dinner menu. It is a comfortable restaurant and nicely appointed. When eat there as often as we can when we are in Philly."

  • "First of all, I don't know why an empty restaurant insists on seating people close to the kitchen. When our waiter finally arrived, he was quite polite and helpful. No problems with the service, except that it took a while before we saw him. The $6 crab soup was good, but not $6 good. The broiled stuffed flounder was bland, like something from a diner, and not worth the $28. Their "famous fries" were good, but nothing memorable. And the chocolate cheesecake, that promised a "layer of chocolate ganache," was just a regular slice of cheesecake with Hershey's syrup on top. I would not eat here again unless it was on someone else's dime."

  • "I had a large party in town for a convention. I needed seating for 11. I used Open Table and DiNardo's was one of my options. I recalled going there 20 years ago and enjoyed it then. I was not disappointed. We were seated right away and the servers bent over backwards to get us food/drink. The seafood was excellent. I highly recommend DiNardo's for and tips of event."
