A word from Dijon
Housed in a historic former firehouse, Dijon is the first restaurant concept from New Orleans native Kurt Brodtmann. He is working with Executive Chef Ricky Cheramie to deliver a truly unique dining experience!

We offer a Contemporary Louisiana cuisine with Classical French and Southern Creole influences. Our menu will rotate seasonally according to availability and by Chef's choice and will always feature rotating daily dinner specials, featured wines and cocktails.

We take a French provincial approach to fine dining by inviting you to our humble space and serving you nothing but the freshest local ingredients possible.

A few special features of Dijon are a Chef’s Table in the main dining room complete with its own small kitchen (coming soon!!!), a beautiful private courtyard area, and a premium bar and lounge area that features the City's best cocktails and great wines!

Diner Reviews
  • "Started with a friendy greeting at the door by the owner. Beautifully renovated historic fire station with outdoor patio. Great service by knowledgable, attentive staff. Excellent, interesting appetizers, traditional New Orleans entrees, but each with an unique twist, concluded with sharing a classic creme brulet. Entertained a friend from Atlanta and she was blown away by the experience. I will definately recommend this restaurant to my friends."

  • "A real gem and a very comfortable, well-done historic setting. We were greeted by the owner and made to feel welcome right away. Our evening started with well-made and creative cocktails. Dinner began with a bottle of wine from the small, well-chosen list. The charcuterie plate was very good as were the entrees, grilled fish and airline chicken. The creme brûlée with berries was top notch. Very solid - give it a try."

  • "Lovely space in a converted firehouse with decent food, very spotty service. Also, a very pleasant outdoor courtyard and bar. Very dead on a Thursday evening - only three patio tables occupied during the course of the evening - we were the only party inside the entire evening (7-9 p.m.). Server was pleasant, but unknowledgeable about the menu and wine offerings. Perplexing lack of wine knowledge given that she indicated the she was a bartender there who had been asked to pick up a few server shifts. Limited menu, quality of food is good, though nothing spectacular. Overpriced, small portions and almost all entrees were served with pureed sides - rather like eating nursing home food. Given the price, might be a better bet for lunch."

  • "Great place located in an old Firehouse right on Annunciation within walking distance from the Green House Inn on Magazine. Walked in as an early bird diner at 6:00 pm and met the owner, learned the history of the building and was pleasantly surprised at the creativeness of the chef and the expansive menu. Had the best piece of Amberjack fish with a dollop of pistachio butter, flash fried kale and creamed carrots with a hint of banana. Great cocktail menu and extensive wine list along with daily specials using local food choices. Would highly recommend for special occasions, group event on the brick courtyard or just dinner with friends."

  • "This is a beautiful space, with high ceilings and a striking interior. There is also lovely garden seating. The food was delicious and I would return with pleasure."

  • "This was our 4th time dining at Dijon: superb, as we've come to expect. The fried oyster and crispy kale salad is a must, the duck, this time confit with delicious berry, as always, delicious. Don't skip dessert! However, we were the only diners on a Friday night... NOLA foodies: flock to Dijon! It would be so sad to lose a gem like this because we don't know about it or let the off-the-beaten-path location scare us away."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 29th anniversary at Dijon. She is a native of New Orleans and I am a resident since 1974. In that time we have both eaten at many of the famous restaurants in the New Orleans area. Many have been wonderful and memorable. But none was ever better than the night we had a Dijon. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent - attentive but unobtrusive, and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion. We'll tell everyone we know about Dijon and will return often ourselves."

  • "I picked Dijon because I waited too long to make a Valentine's Day dinner reservation and it was one of the few places that still had availability. And all they had was 6:15. Anyway, it was sublime. Every single mouthful of every dish on the prix fixe menu made our eyes roll into the back of our heads. I had no idea this place was even here. Wow it was sooooo good. I can't wait to go back and try the regular menu. Outstanding."

  • "Food was excellent and the owner was very gracious and appreciative."

  • "The service, food and ambiance were all very good. Some dishes were outstanding, while I found the ribs entree to have too much grissle. Also, the cocktails were good, but my companion never received his "rocks on the side" with his martini, as he had requested. Lastly, I found there to be way much time between all the courses. While I do appreciate not being rushed, there were a couple of times that we felt we had been forgotten. And it took way to long to get our bread...which was after we received our drinks...probably 15 mintues after we sat down. (I was starving!!)"

  • "Our party of four dined at Dijon on a busy Saturday evening. The ambiance is very nice in this converted fire house. The high ceilings contribute to a noise level that is bearable, unlike other popular eateries. The dining experience was excellent. I had the Poussin Galentine, stuffed chicken with braised cabbage and apple. It was delicious. The lemon tart was awesome. This was our second visit to Dijon within a month. We really like this restaurant and will be going here again."

  • "the greeter/maitre d' was nice and welcoming, and offered to substitute menu items from the Living Social menu. The server was not so accommodating and only pointed out the price to substitute the highest priced items. At the end of the meal he made sure to mention (twice) that we tip on the total value of the meal. Not cool. Really spoiled a nice dinner. We always tip on the full amount. In addition, I had brought two other guests who were not using the Living Social coupon. it would have been much easier if the bill could have been divided between the two couples, but this option was not offered."

  • "The food is really very good. We especially like the fried oyster salad and cheese plates, which we get each time. However there are specials worth trying. The service is friendly while managing to be efficient, the staff makes some good recommendations. Definitely worth a visit."

  • "I had a shrimp & eggplant dish that was outstanding, & I don't like eggplant!"
    Dined on 1/15/2014
  • "Despite a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and a promising menu, the food at Dijon ranged from blah to gross. The shrimp brioche was one over cooked shrimp and two weird logs of adulterated shimp (and who knows what else). It was not pleasant. The fried oysters were blah, but we liked the fried kale on the plate. My first bite of the short ribs had bone pieces in it and the sauce tasted like sugared ketchup. We also had a shrimp/eggplant dish that had enough salt to cure a small ham. We sent back our mains and asked for desserts to go. These were unspectacular. We will not return. A big disappointment."

  • "It's a little off the New Orleans beaten path but a true jewel. The former fire station turned white cloth dining restaurant is worth giving a try. There's unique flavor blends and very attentive servers. Go try it for yourself."

  • "I'm totally taken by the restaurant Dijon . I have been there many times and have never been disappointed. The food, ambience, service has been amazing each time. I want this little gem to stay around for a very long time. With that said, I would like for the restaurant to put up a more prominent sign of their restaurant name to help with spreading the word of this awesome restaurant gem!"

  • "We weren't going to eat out New Years Eve, but I noticed Dijon's Facebook post about their chef's menu and we booked it. The place is beautiful - very neat architecture, but the food was wonderful! The best fried oysters I've ever eaten; the best quail I've ever tasted; and a delicious filet cooked to perfection and as tender as could be. As an added bonus - a very reasonably priced wine list. (a pleasant surprise when a restaurant doesn't try to gouge you on their wine!)"

  • "Restaurant is easy to find in the Garden District of NOLA, we drove, you cannot get there via the streetcar. All the surrounding hotels offer cab service. The restaurant is a very classic remodel of an old fire house. I loved the setting. The music level was very nice, 5 of us dinning. Easily booked on Open Table. White linen table cloths add to the ambiance -that's a bugaboo for me, I think all upscale restaurants must use linen table cloths and napkins, they did. One would think that goes without saying, but not always the case. Our waiter seemed well informed of the wine list. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the pate' enjoyable. With all the choices in the Garden District this is a top choice. Business attire is appropriate."

  • "If you're wondering whether to try this or not - DO! Yes, creole - but foody creole and great true French finds - rabbit, duck, and great légumes prepared awesome. Merliton you'll love - egg plant for non-eggplant people and the desserts - do not get me started! AND great attentive, but not intrusive, professional and kind staff."

  • "Nothing to note on the food. Rabbit was bland. Played annoying Christmas music 12/19. There is no escaping the holiday usual assortment."

  • "We stopped in at Dijon for Sunday Brunch, and it was wonderful. The food was excellent, and the service outstanding. Had Blueberry crepes for dessert, which were awesome. The asparagus soup was delicious. Love the decor set inside an old fire house."

  • "Enjoyed a great meal at Dijon. The staff was knowledge about the food and the wine list and make great recommendations. Everything was prepared to perfection. My dining companion that it was some of the best duck he had ever had. I would recommend for any occasion, the only downside was that the room was very open with high ceilings and there were a couple of larger groups which made it a little difficult to have a conversation at the smaller tables. However, the quality of the food and service would not make bring me back again."

  • "I recently ate at Dijon and did have good food, but here is where the restaurant is lacking. The service was not great. The server was pushy in getting us to make our decision on ordering. The wine list was very small and poor. Being from California, we are accustomed to having many good options for wine. The California selections we were familiar with on the menu were not good and the European wines we tried at the advice of the server were horrible. For me, not having a nice glass of wine to go with the good food was disappointing. If you would like to try this restaurant, I would recommend bringing your own wine."

  • "This is a very nice restaurant but the LivingSocial coupon is no deal. They make you order off a very limited menu. This is the only place where they make you do that with a coupon. A little annoying."

  • "Had a Living Social which included an appetizers, entrees and dessert. Wife and I had the braised short ribs in polenta. It was excellent. Other couple had drum and the other had eggplant with shrimp and grits."

  • "I started with the Shrimp Toast it was a touch too greasy. It had some flavor I was not entirely disappointed. It was served with a small side greens and an overabundance of sprouts. If the toast was served on top of the greens they would have had some flavor and I would have been less likely to notice the grease on my plate. I had the Gulf Shrimp and Eggplant. The shrimp was unseasoned and overcooked. The Andouille Hollandaise sauce was not what i was expecting. It was Hollandaise sauce (that could have used some more lemon juice) and chunks of Andouille on top. It was heavy and bland. If you like bland, by all means check it out. If you don't there are better choices that actually infuse flavor and ambiance into a wonderful evening."

  • "The food here is amazing. This chef is truly gifted. As I write this he's only been there about a month, so disregard any bad reviews you may have read on Yelp about the food. This guy is the real deal. Short ribs were succulent, duck was amazing - crispy skin and moist meat. The bar tender and waiter left much to be desired however. The bartender was SLOW and disorganized and the waiter was awkward. Just come for the food and put up with the service - run, do not walk to this place! One of my all time favorites in the world! (I know this sounds like hyperbole, but it was that good, and I do not know this chef personally!)."

  • "The space, while very attractive, is a bit cavernous, echoey and starkly over-lit. Once we tasted the food, those very minor matters were forgiven and forgotten. Even choosing from a small Living Social prix fixe menu, we relished the hearty shrimp bisque and short rips on a bed of world-beating polenta. A couple of salads were fresh and well-sized. And though I can't for the life of me describe what we ordered for dessert, I can surely recall that they were superior. Go. Sit comfortably. Relax with some wine. Marvel at the food."
