Different Pointe of View
Mothers Day BrunchFantastic location. One of the best views in the city. The brunch easily matches the view in its beauty and variety. All the standard
Brueakfast items are there. The savory dishes were varied and expertly prepared. Prime rib, lamb chops, pork roast, game hen, and the best short rib I think I have ever eaten. Varied sides that nicely compliment everything. Cheese course, yes. A dessert selection that impressed my pastry chef wife. We attend this brunch every Mothers Day, and will continue.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMObscenely expensive for aObscenely expensive for a buffet brunch. When the charge is 59.95 per person, charging $14 for a Cosmo is unthinkable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!I flew into Phoenix to surprise my Mom for Mother's Day weekend. I made a request in my reservation to have a table with an extra special view. The hostess made sure Mom had the best view. Everyone on the staff was wonderful, pleasant and professional. Not a hugeThe food was good. Not a huge selection for a buffet, but it was nice. My only issue is the fact that they added a 20% tip to the bill. It is a buffet and 20% should not be mandatory. They did not advertise that it was going to be added to the bill and my husband and I took offense to it.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOur family has enjoyed a numberOur family has enjoyed a number of holiday brunches at the DPOV over the past several years. Food quality is always quite high and the staff provides outstanding service. DPOV's on a par with the elite holiday brunch locations in the Valley but charges $60/person rather than $75 or more.
Also an excellent choice for a special dinner: creative cuisine, superb waitstaff and the mountaintop location provides a fantastic nighttime view of Phoenix.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIncredible view enhances theIncredible view enhances the ambiance of this special restaurant. The food and service were excellent. Although I am gluten-free, they could accommodate me without any trouble. Although this is not really a kid-friendly restaurant, they made my 5-year old grandson happy and comfortable.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were very good. We had a corner table with windows. The downside was several bugs crawling on the inside of the window.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a view for dinner! They could serve peanut butter & jelly sandwiches and get high ratings with their view! In all seriousness, it's a great destination for not only the view but also the food. For our last night on vacation, we enjoyed the 5 course chef menu and shared the wine pairing. Very good meal. Pork belly, scallops w/ goat cheese & fennel salad, seared lake trout, filet medalions, and choice of dessert. We left more than full. All courses were great but found the 2nd course to be one that was not fully composed. Didn't get what the chef was striving for putting blue goat cheese, a caramelized scallop, and pickled fennel on the plate. Not bad - just didn't 'get' how they went together. Wine pairings were superb as was the sommelier.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMA most outstanding find! GreatA most outstanding find! Great service, great food, and the most awesome romantic nighttime view I have ever experienced! Loved it!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMarriage Proposal at the PointeThe staff were great at keeping my little secret wedding proposal under wraps and watched my table like a hawk so that as soon as I proposed, toasting glasses of apple cider were brought right away. I didn't even have to tell them we didn't drink! The waiter just knew by the fact that we didn't order any alcohol to begin with. This once in a lifetime event was perfect thanks to the Pointe.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AM1st rate romantic restaurant1st rate romantic restaurant with outstanding view of city lights3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGo for the view, stay for the food.Had a very enjoyable experience at DPV. The view is amazing and the food is very good. All our dishes were expertly prepared, artistically plated, and tasted great. We were tempted by the chef's tasting menu, but opted to eat of the regular menu. We had the pork belly, the ravioli, and the clams. All were very enjoyable. Then we had the apple salad which was terrific. Then several of us had the venison smoked in cherry wood, and one of us had the trout. The venison was tender and very tasty. Then we sampled several desserts: the turtle, the creme brûlée, and the chocolate with the hot chocolate. All were delightful and rounded out a very satisfying dining experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only thing that was slightlyThe only thing that was slightly lacking was my dessert. We did the tasting and were wonderfully surprised!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHome Away from HomeDPOV was great! We experienced Chef Anthony's cuisine at Devoured and Ian's great customer service. To our pleasant surprise Ian greeted us at our table as if he just welcomed us into his home. Then Chef Anthony met us at the table to thank us for choosing DPOV out of all of our choices. Together they made our celebratory evening special with a journey of food and fun.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMA Perfect Evening.Best meal ever! Food, wine list, sommelier's knowledge of his products and his friendly personality, service with attention to details, and stunning views, made our evening fun and memorable.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent and theFood was excellent and the wine list was very good. Especially the nice selection of half-bottles. Our waiter was in many ways overly chummy and lacking professionalism which impacted our experience to some extent. The sommelier however, was very good.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was incredible. WentFood was incredible. Went here for an anniversary with my girlfriend. I had the filet mignon...melts in your mouth. The wine list is huge. Service is excellent. I would recommend sitting outside as the view and ambiance (it is much quieter outside) are incredible and makes for a great romantic dinner. Well worth the price. Highly recommended, I would definitely go back!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting over lookingBeautiful setting over looking Phoenix. My only wish is to visit more often.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI had a lovely experienceI had a lovely experience here! They have an amazing view of Phoenix. I wish I had sat outside because the weather was amazing. I did get a table by the window which was very romantic. The entrees were not that big but it allowed me to have an appetizer, entree and dessert and left feeling satisfied. Food was great. I was able to try bison (it was the chef's special that day). Definitely would recommend this place for a special occasion or just a nice night out.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best meals we haveOne of the best meals we have ever enjoyed. Great for a special occasion3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMit was the nicest restaurantit was the nicest restaurant we have seen in the 6 and a half years that we've lived in Phoenix. I only wish that we had found it sooner. Truly the food, service, & ambiance, as well were incredible! Thank you for the kindness that we were shown & this wonderful opportunity to really enjoy our anniversary.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEnchanting EveningThis was a real find. We Googled to find the best restaurant in Phoenix with a scenic sunset view and discovered this spot through a blog post. The whole experience was enchanting. The Hilton Pointe is built into a mountain in north central Phoenix. The Different Pointe of View restaurant is at the top of the property and has a 180 degree view of the valley. The indoor and outdoor seating is excellent and both provide great views. The restaurant offers an an excellent wine list and menu. They also offer a wine tasting and food event periodically. The service from all the staff was excellent. The food was superb and the sunset views were as advertised. The whole experience was excellent and we'll return some day soon.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMQuiet outside, but quite noisyQuiet outside, but quite noisy inside--so noisy that I do not think we would have enjoyed it as much if we weren't able to get the outside table.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
