A word from Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse
“Top Steakhouses in America” Maxim Magazine and Playboy, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse serves straightforward prime steaks with a New Orleans touch. Signature dishes and sides include: The House Filet (served with masa flash-fried Louisiana oysters), Tomato Bleu Cheese Napoleon, Pontalba Potatoes, and a Roasted Sweet Potato with Creole Pecan Butter. The house favorite dessert is a toss up between the Coconut Cake with a chiffon buttercream and the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding—so go ahead and order both.Continued

  • "The service was outstanding! The food delicious! Nothing to say but it was 5+ star rated!"

  • "We had never been to Dickies but were going to be in the neighborhood and decided to try it. We had 3 courses then desert. Nothing was awesome except the coconut cake. My med rare steak was over cooked my husband was undercooked. His ribeye looked like a NY strip with no marbling of fat at all. The asparagus, I swear seemed like it was canned the mash potatoes were glue like... We spent $200 plus$50 tip and just hoped/ expected more. Turle soup was good as were crabclaws.... We will spend our money next time at Ruth's Chris or Besh steak house. It was however infinitely better than their dismal sister restaurant Palace cafe that we visited a few weeks ago."

  • "We really enjoyed the staff here, the food was good but you can get that anywhere. One of our servers, Parker, made the difference, what a personable young man. We had champagne, red wine, turtle soup and both ordered steak, mine MR, my husband MW, they both came MR. This was corrected but shouldn't have happened to begin with. Parker recommended the coconut cake for dessert and it was great. All and all this was a fun experience, life's what you make it :) We will certainly return, the food and service are great, unlike the other Brennan's by Jackson Square where the service is horrible. Visit this one and get the real experience."

  • "Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant. The service was wonderful. Will, Tyler and Mike were great waiters. They made us feel special. When we visit New Orleans again, we will definitely go to Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse again!!"

  • "A really great steak. Service was lacking at times but the food made up for it."

  • "My husband and I chose to travel from out of town to dine at Dickey Brennan's for our 10th wedding anniversary. We knew the food and the service would be second to none because it always is. The quality and flavor of the food is excellent even in a setting as competitive as New Orleans. Complimentary to the food is the service. You couldn't ask to be taken any better care of! Oh, and every single person we came in contact with from DB's made sure to tell us Happy Anniversary. Thank you DB staff for making our evening unforgettable for all the right reasons!!"

  • "Ate here a few years ago it was fenominal ordered exact same meal and could not finish it. Prime rib too spiced and tough, guest had duck and was not impressed, only thing good were ogratin potatoes. Service still top notch atmosphere great but for the price of food and quality go elsewhere."

  • "We have been going to Dickie Brennan for years. We went again last night for my daughter's birthday. It was terrible. Our last time to ever go there. Definitely not worth the money."

  • "Service was excellent as always but the prime rib was disapointing. When I requested med rare the waiter did tell me that they had med and above only. I received well done....I have never had prime rib well done. It was dry and not very good. The augratin potatoes were excellent."

  • "I was in New Orleans for a meeting and stayed for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. I knew from reputation that the food would be good, but I did not expect the best meal I have ever had. Along with the love of my life the staff at Dickie Brennan's could not have made a more perfect experience. (And they didn't know we were celebrating)"

  • "The food was great. Nice steakhouse atmosphere, great decor for fine dining. The waitstaff was there everytime you wanted something, trained to respond to you before you have a chance to ask."

  • "My husband and I were celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary and we chose to dine at Dickie Brennan's. It was a first class dining experience from the moment we stepped into the restaurant until we left. The food, service, atmosphere, wine.....everything was amazing! We will definitely dine there again. We also look forward to dining at other Dickie Brennan establishments."

  • "Our service and food were outstanding. We were visitors and were treated like old friends of Brennan's Steakhouse. Anyone in New Orleans should find this place a diamond in the rough!"

  • "Went there for my husband's b-day. I'm not a steak fan but he is. He said his filet was the best he's ever eaten. I had the duck, which was fantastic. We had the asparagus, duck risotto and scalloped potato as sides. All the sides were excellent, except the duck risotto. It had a some spice in it that made it not edible for me. The service was outstanding."

  • "EL LUGAR HA DECAIDO MUCHO EN SERVICIO Y EN LA CALIDAD NO EN SI DE LOS INGREDIENTES PERO SI DE LA MANERA DE PREPARARLOS. ME LLAMO LA ATENCION EL HECHO DE LA UTILIZACION DE NOMBRES EN LOS CORTES QUE TECNICAMENTE NO EXISTEN (NAMP), COMO QUERIENDO HACER O SIMULAR ALGO QUE NO LO ES. PARA UNA SENCILLA CENA DE 4 PERSONAS TARDARON MAS DE 2 HORAS EN COMPLETAR EL SERVICIO. LOS "EXTRAS" (PAN, POR EJEMPLO) MUY PLANO, MUY ESCASO, MUY POCO ENFASIS DEFINITIVAMENTE NO ES UN LUGAR QUE MEREZCA UNA SEGUNDA OPORTUNIDAD."

  • "Appetizers and service were ok at first. Porterhouse (ordered med rare) was charred on one side and almost raw on the other side. Lobster was rubbery. Ordered coffe and dessert and that was when the service fell apart. Once dessert came, no one checked on us until we flagged someone down after almost 30 minutes. No refresh on coffee or check up on dessert. The bananas foster bread pudding was partly HOT and mostly cold. Bananas weren't Carmelites, just sliced and laid on top of Carmel sauce. Not what I have come to expect from this 'establishment'."

  • "Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse has remained a consistent dining establishment in New Orleans. Very crowded, but the dining experience is worth the wait."

  • "My husband and I never miss a chance to eat at DB Steakhouse. Each time we visit NOLA we always have dinner here. Superb beef and the coconut cake is our favorite!"

  • "Great food and service. That says it all! Will definitely be back"

  • "We found Dickie Brennan's online after reading the many outstanding reviews. It was rather empty when we arrived but filled up quite quickly. Gorgeous atmosphere with white suited waiters and southern blues music which took you back in time and was only fitting while staying in the French Quarter. We shared the delicious onion rings and each got the 8oz prime rib which was perfection. I like my steak rare and this did not disappoint even though it is not my usual cut. The dessert was also delicious, the praline peach tart was lovely but very sweet. The bread banana pudding was amazing and light! Highly recommend to lovers of steak, fine dining and service!"

  • "Dickie Brennan's was recommended by a local NOLA resident, and it did not disappoint! Everything from the BBQ shrimp to the Banana's foster bread pudding was fabulous. The grit cake that was served with the BBQ shrimp melts in your mouth. The food is extremely rich - so don't fill up too quickly on appetizers and salads. Fabulous dining experience. One of the best in NOLA."

  • "Since my first experience dinning at Dickie Brennan's the food and the atmosphere as been excellent. For myself I have been to the restaurant several times; the person with me on this visit had never been. During and after dinning that night, she talked about the food being so delicious and the service. The service was excellent as usual, specialty our main waiter, Ross. For me Dickie Brennan's will be on top of my list for fine dinning."

  • "This restaurant came highly recommended and we were not the least bit disappointed. The service staff is excellent--very attentive but you hardly know they are there. The food was wonderfully prepared exactly to our liking. Will definitely go back."

  • "Dickie's was perfect from the moment we stepped in the door. We were greeted/seated as if we were VIP's. The food and food service was some of the best I've had. A definite must while in New Orleans."

  • "I treated my girlfriend to her birthday dinner at Dickie Brennan's and it was fantastic. The service was impeccable and the steak divine. Highly recommended, the staff treated us very well and the barbershop quartet happy birthday and other songs for my love were the best, thank you!"

  • "Have dined at Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse often when visiting NOLA and each dining experience usually 100% of expectations until this dining experience ... service & food was "off" tonight. Pleasant and professional greeting upon arrival. Lovely table and energetic noise & crowd ... restaurant is lovely ... "main" wait staff was slow & forgetful (water & bread service impeccable)... champagne was served warm and prime rib was cold ... forgot my salad ... husband waited to enjoy his salad until mine was served. Travel to NOLA often from out-of-state and will make reservations at Brennan's again ... "

  • "Wonderful food, friendly staff, great evening out!"

  • "Our dinner was the best dining experience we've had in quite some time. It was a celebratory evening for us (arranged through Open Table), and the restaurant did not disappoint. The kale salad was unbelievable, the steak was perfectly seasoned/cooked and service was awesome. The lemon pie was better than my grandmother's. The only downside was the bar did not have the ingredients for a Corpse Reviver 2, though they made a good effort to figure it out. Restaurant arranged a trio to sing at the table for our celebration. It was a great way to end the evening. Consider Dickie Brennan's as an alternative to Cajun for one night of your visit to the "Big Easy"."

  • "This place was recommended to me by a number of friends. I'm very happy I brought my wife here. I had the 24oz steak and it was amazing. Service was top notch. Thank you and I'll be back for sure. "

  • "Steak for a change! I had the spinach salad with feta; which was really nice. I had a small filet with shrimp. Hubby had …wait for it ...an extremely reasonable priced full course dinner consisting of two grilled 4oz filets, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, marchands de vin sauce & included soup, & dessert was a delicious chocolate mousse. We had delightful cocktails before dinner. The wait staff, especially Chris, were helpful and friendly. For a steak place the prices were fairly reasonable. There are big chain steakhouses in New Orleans but if you want a New Orleans favorite go here."

  • "The best service I have had anywhere, coupled with great food. What more could you want?"
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "There was absolutely nothing wrong about our experience, but our feeling was that Dickie's was resting on it's laurels. Steaks were good, but without the sear that I like and cooked just beyond what I consider med-rare. And frankly, the cuts taste and texture reminded me of a choice cut rather than prime. Not a disaster, but winning me over. The same could be said for the rest of meal with the exception of the dessert crepes which were excellent. One more thing....the high end of the wine list ($300+) had lots of selections and thought. Not so for the lower ranges. I love wine, but generally won't spend more than $150 for a bottle. Ended up going with a southern Rhone which was good...not great. BTW...very good waitstaff!"
