Diamond's was originally opened in 1982 in the Chambersburg Restaurant District of Historic Trenton, New Jersey. Now, Brothers Anthony and Tommy Zucchetti have reopened with one of their original chefs in a romantic location inside the Pennington Shopping Center.   • "Service was poor. Kept on forgetting to bring our second round of drinks, we had to ask for bread with our salad and had to request water refil several times. Steak was very good. Seasoned chicken was not. Very oily and lacked flavor. Could have used some garlic and either wine, lemon or vinegar to cut through the oil. Definately not the quality food & service from years past when they were in the burg!"

  • "This restaurant is so special. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The service is exceptional and the food is outstanding. I would recommend the surf and turf, any of the steaks, the Bolognese sauce is really good as is the Francaise sauce. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It was a gem in Trenton and now in Ewing."

  • "I had heard great things about the restaurant, but was disappointed. I had crab cakes that were good, but the vegetables were overcooked and mushy. I love vegetables and didn't even eat them. The "roasted" potato wedges were very dry and overcooked. My husband and I mixed drinks were definitely a weak poor and very expensive."

  • "Brought our teen-age grandsons for their periodic trip to a "fine restaurant". When asked how they compared Diamond's to their very favorite retaurant located in Bucks Co.,they rated Diamonds on par if not a little better. (The other restaurant is part of an old inn, heated by fireplace, French cuisine etc. You get the picture. ) Diamonds is my personal favorite. Thanks so much for reopening!"

  • "We remembered when Diamonds was the 'Thee Place To Be' when it came to celebrating special occasions. Even though when we called for special reservations, when we arrived, it was though they were trying to fit us in a crowded dining room. The table seated was not desirable and from that point on, the special dining event became a game changer. Next year we plan to seek out another place to celebrate."

  • "This trip was worth it just for the music - lots of Sinatra and Dean Martin, etc. Everything was very good: the stuffed mushrooms, chopped antipasto, crab cake in pastry, and garlic bread. We had a variety of entrees: Shrimp Scampi and Fra Diablo, Tilapia Francese, Ravioli, and a chicken dish with Gorgonzola...yum!! Their martini list is amazing and we did sample 3 different ones. I had the cucumber; it was so good that I had two!! Those who had dessert were very happy. Our waitress was wonderful and very personable."

  • "There were 4 of us, and the review split 50-50. The shrimp scampi and veal Marsala guys were pleased. The red clam sauce linguini and penne with sausage guys were unimpressed. The red clam sauce lacked taste and the penne was floating in oil. We were disappointed, but have resigned ourselves to thinking that maybe something gets left behind when restaurants flee Trenton."

Only complaint was when the check came our server reeked of cigarette smoke. Maybe a rule of thumb for employees is No Smoking when working!"

  • "Whether you are in the mood for a romantic evening, an evening with good friends, or a special evening with your family- Diamonds is the perfect choice!! You are afforded the opportunity to partake of a variety of well prepared, delicious dinners. My husband chose the pork chops-which he described as " the best he's ever eaten". So much for my pork chops-which I thought were excellent. The sea bass was superb! My husband and I dine in many excellent restaurants- some have beautiful decor, some have impressive artwork, some the artistic presentation of the food is impressive- but what I love most in a restaurant , "Was it fun?" That is why at the end of a tough week, we choose "Diamonds"!!!"

  • "Oysters wonderful, char tasty. salad good. The roll basket was a little meager. Veal was under cooked and had to be returned to the kitchen. The lighting at each table is oppressive, an overhead spotlight casts a harsh light on diners. There was no compensation to the diners for the poorly done veal."

  • "I dined at Diamonds this past weekend and my overall experience was "meh"! The food was mediocre at best and service was horrible. Now let me add overpriced. When I decide to go out in these expensive times, I don't mind paying if the total experience was enjoyable, the food good if not great, and the ambiance is wonderful, however, I feel Diamonds falls short on all of the above. I will definitely choose another spot going forward for special occasions."

Nice size bar but separated from the rest of the tables so you don't hear the noise. Really nice menu, good wine list and outstanding service."

Although it is in a strip shopping center once you walk in the front door you would never know it. The decor was stylish and comfortable. It reminded me of several restaurants we visited in Italy last year. We were pleasantly surprised with our night out here."

  • "Arrived early for our reservation and was seated promptly. We were seated so far out of the way, back in small room by ourselves, so we missed out on what seemed like a good vibe. Not sure why but it was really kind of odd. Service was fine. I ordered a stuffed pork chop off the specials menu....$29.95 and overpriced. Was cooked perfectly and very good. My wife's Shrimp Scampi was soggy and swimming in butter. I would have sent it back, but she didn't. Overall; not bad, but certainly not good. I would not recommend it...and I'm not overly particular."

  • "Expensive for what was really just a small step up from a chain restaurant. Owner/manager was very "fake" fake tan, fake white teeth and definitely no real warmth. Server was nice enough and knew his job, food was mediocre, I had overlooked lamb loin (server never asked how I wanted it cooked) my wide had seafood on linguine, very nice sauce but multiple cracked mussels and overkiod shrimp. Probably will go to Avantis next time as although the menu is sometimes lacking it feels more authentic."

  • "We used to go to Diamonds when it was in the Burg. We were hoping for the same scrumptious food. Unfortunately I would rate the food and service barely average. Food was lukewarm. Stuffed mushrooms were lacking sausage flavor and one was barely cooked. Veal saltimbocca was good but nothing special. Our server was very nice but never once came back during our dinner to ask us if we needed another drink or more bread or whatever. I was disappointed"

My husband & I both had the surf/turf and it was perfectly prepared. Dessert was creme Brule crust was also perfect. Our waiter Will was attentive but not intrusive. Loved the Sinatra music.   • "The food was good, but the restaurant was very cold if they sat you near a window- very drafty. I told our waitress that is was cold, and we wanted to be moved, but she said she would turn up the heat which did not help. Not enjoyable to dine wearing your coat. The caesar salad was too salty, and I would not order it again . The service was good, but rushed- our waitress brought out the dessert tray, but barely gave us enough time to look at it and make a selection before it was taken away. It was early so the restaurant wasn't busy, although the waitress had other tables to serve. Also, the owner was there, seating people, and it would have been nice if he walked around, asking how the food was, and if everything was ok."

  • "We found this restaurant on the internet and decided to give it a try. Well, first we were very pleased to be able to make a reservation over the net. That couldn't have been any simpler. Next was a good impression when we stepped in the door. Were not bar folks, however the bar area appeared to be very upbeat with TVs all around and lots of patrons. We were seated right away in a very pleasant area. The wait staff was very attentive. The food, well can I say yum. To sum it up, outstanding experience."

  • "There was only one issue that we felt should be addressed from our dinner. We had ordered a vegetable the table of four adult females. When the $6 dish was delivered, it was on a large dish with five or six sprigs of asparagus. It wasn't more than a serving for one, if that. Had we been told what the dish consisted of, we probably wouldn't have ordered it, or chosen something else that would have accommodated our needs."
