Diner Reviews
  • "We have been here many times, often introducing it to friends, and will return. Service is friendly and attentive. The only negative is that it can take a while for drinks to arrive. A very extensive menu of highly creative dishes including many vegetarian offerings. "

  • "Goan restaurant with a Bollywood theme. Really nice menu - great selection. Food was excellent. Had Chicken in a pistachio / coconut sauce that melted in your mouth. My wife had Halibut steamed with coconut in banana leaves - incredibly most and tender. Paneer was the best I've ever had and the onion Naan was spot on."

  • "The service was attentive to a fault. The food comes out family style and the waiter serves it - even if you don't want it! When I said "that's enough thank you" , he kept putting more on my plate saying "it's good". There were only 6 other people in the restaurant, but the wait staff didn't need to stand close enough to our table to hear our conversation. I sensed they were trying to make a very good impression. We tried this on a recommendation from a friend, it was a 45 minute drive without traffic - not a place we'd go back to. We are foodies &really appreciate good food and we have been known to drive long distances for the best. Unfortunately this didn't make our list. A positive - the cauliflower appetizer was fantastic."

  • "To provide good service and accommodate their customers. We were there for the second time. Went with friends on of whom was Indian and a foodie to boot. They met her expectations for food and quality with flying colors. We Wei certainly be back and bring more friends."

  • "I've been to about 6 different Indian restaurants in New Jersey in the past few years. I would rate this one as # 2 but, that being so, the food falls significantly short of my # 1 Indian restaurant. The service personnel did go out of there way to please. Not sure why there was a wall mount TV (which was on) in the dining area were we were seated. It took away from what would have been a nice ambience."

  • "This place was a complete bizarre for the time I planned to spend with my wife on Valentine's eve. It all started with POOR very poor and pathetic welcome and table service. First of all there was no "assigned" waiter for us. The Guy who took our menu didn't show any passions, he was so rushing and completely messed up our order. Didn't even explained the ingredients and instead jsut kept saying its nice and delicious. We ordered Hollywood Bollywood something mushroom dish , which is too little quantity for 14 bucks you spend , on top of it when the food came after 25 minutes they brought main course and biryaani (forgot to bring Daal we ordered) .. Staff needs improvement and service needs to be improved 100 %. Totally WORST experience .."

  • "Dhoom seems to have tried the in-between approach with the food - tried to cater to both an Americanized Indian taste, as well as true hard-core Indian taste. I think the owners should decide on the primary target customer and work towards that, since there are a lot more options in the area with better quality of Indian food. The location is a little hard to find, but the decor and ambiance makes up for it. A good start, but long way to go!"
