  • "We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere here at dinner. The tables are nicely spaced and the room is fairly quiet -- wish other restaurants were so easy to have conversations at! The food is very good, but I can't go so far as outstanding. I do like that you can choose two sides-- nice to choose your own starch and veggie, or two veggies if you want. The service was good, nothing to complain about, but the server wasn't at all friendly or personable; felt like she really didn't care."

  • "The place is very attractive, espite being in a strip mall. Dark, modern, well-appointed. Our waiter was quick to hit the table, but talked so fast it was difficult to gleen what he was saying. He offered no additional beverages, no ground pepper for the soup or salad. The seafood was tasty enough, but portions were small, shrimp was undersized for a place in this price range, seasoning was solid by not extraordinary. Overall it was just OK. Not what we had hoped for for a special occaision."

  • "food has always been great...and MOSTLY so are the waitstaff. Went for crab legs on Sunday and they were out....This irks me about restaurants in general...please tell your customers as soon as they sit down and get a drink what you are out of. When the waiter comes back 10 minutes later, makes me think they don't know what's going on... This time, we stayed...and I think the restaurant must feel if you're already there and have ordered you'll stay. While that may be true, I'll think about another restaurant NEXT TIME...so in the end, you lose... Food and drinks are always first class...fish can't be beat...sides are very good... oh, and love the music too...it's just right"

  • "We enjoyed a Birthday entrée coupon. It was Sunday so our bottle of wine was half off, and we got an anniversary dessert. So we were in a good mood. We shared the scallop on the daily fish special. It l was delightful and good accompanied with artichoke and asparagus risotto."

  • "Devon has become our regular stop for seafood. We can rely on the fresh, large selection of seafood and the preparation is consistently excellent. The service is prompt and attentive. When only slightly delayed in being seated recently the hostess immediately apologized and comped an appetizer at the bar. The wait staff has the perfect balance of service without intrusion."

  • "We have eaten there several times before, both inside and outside, all wonderful dining experiences. This time, the food was great as always, but the service was very poor. The waiter seemed slightly confused as he took our drink and food orders. The entrees arrived about 3 minutes after appetizer was served.was not chatting or wasting time so I was very suprised! Then after finishing our entree there was a long wait before the dessert arrived. Guess I am being pickey, but I feel the food service was very poorly timed and the waiter minimally attentive. Final note, it did not seem busy at the hour we were eating as there was always an open table or two ( we were seated on the patio)."

  • "The food was absolutely delicious and quite filling. I had the grilled seafood medley which was quite satisfying. I savored every bite. This was a lunch to be remembered. I can't wait to take my husband for this dining experience. The music was very nice, light and made the atmosphere feel like I was in a 5 star, pricey restaurant in downtown Chicago."

  • "When we are in the Chicago area, Devon is a required stop. The restaurant decor is upscale yet comfortable. The menu is varied, and the fish selections are well prepared and plentiful. There is a nice variety of side dishes to coose from ... something for everyone. We just happened to hit half priced wine night ... what a pleasant surprise! The wait staff is always efficient, helpful, and friendly. Next visit we would like to try outside dining."

  • "Having dined at Devon's at least 12 times over the past 2 years I've enjoyed the cioppino/boullaibaiise very much - a terrific seafood dish in a wonderfully seasoned broth. The guests I've introduced to Devons have greatly enjoyed the almond encrusted tilapia, various preparations of fresh fish, and all have praised the wonderful fresh biscuits. However I am sorely disappointed that someone has chosen to discontinue the cioppino.... it is no longer being offered, the portion of caesar salad continues to shrink and the prices are higher. So, despite great service and fantastic creme brulee; I'll not be recommending Devon's (or eating as in the past). If they resume Cioppino - I'll return. In the meantime it's Parker's on HIghland!"

  • "The food was delicious however the service was SO SLOW! The servers were very nice, but generally when I go to lunch in Oak Brook the servers work under the assumption that the patrons are on their lunch break. Because for the most part, they are. We spent 2 HOURS here! It took forever for our server to come get our drink orders, bring the drinks, get our food orders etc. we were the only ones sitting on the patio so I honestly think they forgot about us. Even after we asked for our check and said we had to get back to work they took their time...very frustrating"

  • "I have been here many times and the service and food have always been great. This last time which was the day after the holiday my wife and I both had the Ahi Tuna which has been great in the past, however this time it had that fishy taste indicating it was not fresh perhaps it was due to the holiday but it was not good. Hopefully this was just a onetime occurrence."

  • "Let me begin by saying the food was spectacular; however, the service this night - not so much. The Halibut was perfectly prepared to my request and the sides: asparagus and grilled artichoke were delicious. My husbands almond crusted tilapia was made even better because the chef was able to prepare the old Braxton's raspberry sauce in place of the berre blanc sauce. It was outstanding. Our issue this night was our waiter. He didn't come back for a drink order until after our salads arrived and he delivered the wrong wine when the entrée arrived. It was unfortunate because the food really was perfect that night. Everyone can have an off night so we will be back."

  • "We recently dined at DEVON in Oakbrook Terrace as a family of 6. Living in the city with so many restaurant options I was a bit skeptical about a restaurant in a strip mall. Well ...The food was delicious, great variety on the menu and nice size portions. The Prix Fixe menu gave us a chance to try a variety of items. We (adults) had oysters as our appetizer paired with Pinot Gris from Kings Estate. Entrees included: char crusted ahi tuna, pretzel crusted trout, grilled scallops and filet. We would definitley go back again"

  • "We absolutely were surprised by the assortment of fish and the preparations. The carrot cake was one of the best I have ever had. Our waiter was accommodating when we wanted to taste a few wines before choosing a glass. My only real criticism was that like many other restaurants a separate server brings your food. It took us some effort to get someone to bring fresh ground pepper to the table after our food arrived. Our server came back to see how we were doing after our meal was consumed. A little annoying but not enough to spoil the experience."

  • "I had looked forward to going to Devon and have their bouillabaisse, which was featured on the website which I checked the day of our reservation. Much to my disappointment, I was told when I got there that it was not included that night. They should not advertise things that are not available. They were very thoughtful in explaining why it was not offered, and gracious in suggesting alternatives. My wife ordered the scallop three course, and we both felt the scallops were under-cooked. I had the shrimp taco which was heavy with sauce. Our friend had the halibut which was great. I would go back as it is usually a great place for dinner."

This time around, in Oak Brook Terrace, my fish was a little too salty but each of the two side dishes were delicious. There was a great deal on the wine, half price bottles.   • "I went to Devon to use my Birthday certificate, saying I could choose an entree for up to $25.00. My meal was $18.00 and my husband's was $12.00. Unlike other restaurants, they didn't take the "cheaper" amt. off, but honored MY $18.00 entree. That was the first wonderful thing. Secondly, we had a phenomenal waiter, who was perfect in every way, from service to professionalism to personality. The third thing is that the food is "fit for foodies." I had the grilled mesquite chicken with parmesan/herb potatoes & asparagus & it was delicious. Last, but not least, the atmosphere is classy. The restaurant decor and everything about it, has an air of classiness. Thank You again for a wonderful Friday afternoon lunch."

  • "After having a disastrous mother's day lunch at Tuscany 's, I tried to be very careful in my Father's Day selection. After reading that people had good Mother's Day experiences at this restaurant, I felt good about the selection, and it proved fully worthy of its good reviews. The ambiance was cool and modern, muted and good for conversation. From calamari to lobster bisque, scallops to salmon, every dish my family ordered was exquisite. Dad was more than pleased, and that's all that really matters!"
