  • "I ordered the filet and scallops. Well first of all my food was a bit cold when it arrived and the filet was very dried out. There were a few other minor complaints with my party but the staff did try to fix them all. The staff was nice and very apologetic but with all the mishaps in one night they never asked was there anything they could do for us (party of four) I would never eat there again and wouldn't recommend to anyone."

  • "Although a nice spot to sit and visit, we were both disappointed with our combo plates. The wedge salad was fine, though my side dressing was inadequate. The fries were the best part of my meal. However, I didn't know the meal came with fries and would probably have substituted for something more healthy. My wrap was shrimp-less and my friend's club had deli turkey instead of the real thing. Our service was basically mediocre ( don't remember the waitress' name). Water was left unfilled unless we asked, coffee took forever to be delivered, and then our checks were put on the wrong credit cards though they were clearly set apart in the tray. We won't go back."

  • "My wife and I were going to an event in Oakbrook. I found this restaurant on line...I couldn't have pick a more perfect place for dinner and drinks. Great atmosphere and menu was amazing. Food was delicious!!! It was like dining in a upscale restaurant in the city without the long drive and traffic. We'll be coming back!!!"

  • "I was given the task of finding a restaurant for our group, which included family visiting from Europe. Came across Devon on Open Table, liked the menu options and the reviews were good, so I went with it. Everyone was pleased with the food options, the ambiance was great and our waiter was awesome. When the food arrived, everything was delicious and our waiter even brought me a sample of the lobster mac and cheese to try (he heard me trying to convince my husband to order it as one of his sides). We will definitely go back, the food was fabulous and the prices very reasonable."

  • "Go on Wed, to get a market price lobster and $6.5 cocktails. We just ordered a ton of appetizers, favorites were the duck flatbread, chipotle shrimp and oysters. Spring rolls may have mayo, yuck. Mussels have no real flavor. Dessert is a ridiculous size, fit for 4! Staff is polite and courteous, would def go back!"

  • "Shrimp scampi was very good. Garlic was melted . Very nice change of pace. Wife's filet was very tasty.boulgbaise was a little disappointing,but broth had a nice flavor. Both mussels & clams where inconsistent . Cant really blame that on the restaraunt tho. All in all a fine job."

  • "Devon is one of those restaurants that you know will always provide an outstanding experience. The fish is super fresh and the service efficient. The noise level can get a bit high when the room is full. Try the lobster mac and cheese...you won't be disappointed."

  • "A very nice gem tucked away in Oakbrook Terrace. The service was extremely good and the food was exceptional! The only downside - it was extremely noisy. There was a loud table next to us which was a shame (the place is covered with beautiful wood - but it amplifies the sound horribly). However, the music they played was also not a good fit for the ambiance/décor of the place. It would have been better for the bar area (maybe) with something a bit more serene or jazzy in the main dining area. It was hard to have a conversation. Otherwise, a really good restaurant - I am sure we will go there again."

  • "Having been to Devon's on Chicago Ave. I knew what I was expecting and this location delivered. the food was just as good and the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Janet, was wonderful. She talked knowledgeably about all the items on the menu and could make recommendations based on the customer's preferences. She also nailed the wine selections for our table. Service was outstanding. This is a great restaurant whether you are looking for a place to take a client or your family and I noticed a private dining area that would be great for smaller gatherings or business lunch/dinners. I hope word gets around quickly and this restaurant becomes established in the area. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed."

  • "Everyone else really enjoyed the food but as the vegetarian in the group, my meal was NOT good. I had a plate of grilled veggies that had absolutely NO seasoning. They were dull and bland and if the choice of going back to Devon's was up to me, I would say NO! More and more restaurants are offering vegetarian and vegan options and if you want repeat customers you really need to improve this part of your menu!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "It was our first time dining here. Best Crab Cakes ever! Lobster Bisque and gumbo were excellent. Creme Brule was delicious. The wine, and cocktail were just perfect. We plan on coming back. Our waitress was super, and very helpful and attentive. Like a best friend. :-)"

  • "We went there for dinner the other night. When we got our meals my wife's was very good, but mine was not. When asked I could not say mine was good (normally I don't complain). Both the waiter and manager jumped in to see that I was satisfied. Kudos for a strong recovery. I would definitely go back based on the way things were handled. I should have taken the waiter's entree suggestion the first time. The halibut was amazing."

  • "Our meal was superb but it seemed the hostess and wait staff were all very young and lacked the ability to comprehend the customer experience. Service was slow and I watched the hostess staff and others walk past items on the ground careful not step on them but no effort to pick them up. I don't know if this is a temporary situation or things to come but it did affect my overall stay."

  • "My wife and I have eaten here a few times now and have had a great experience every time. I enjoyed their char crusted tuna and lobster bisque. Last summer they had an amazing salad with strawberries but I didn't see it on the menu on our most recent visit this winter. They also have outdoor seating which was very nice last summer. Overall they have great service, delicious seafood, nice ambiance, and excellent cocktails. I recommend the Lemon Basil Manhattan."

Outstanding service and unbelievable food. I was there for a dinner meeting, we were all able to enjoy our meal and still be able to carry on a comfortable business conversation. Highly recommended!"

  • "Best item to recommend are the rolls. After several visits unable to justify the price for the food presented. Ordered the crab cake appetizer and salad for lunch. The crab cakes were too tiny mounds of crab about the size of a fifty cent piece. Have to admit there was no bread crumbs to take away from the crab but not much crab either."

  • "My wife's 50th birthday was on a Thursday so we decided to begin her weekend-long celebration at Devon. We've long been fans of their happy hour, though we do miss the days of Braxton's oyster bar, but hadn't dined at this location yet. They did not disappoint. The pretzel crusted trout was excellent and my wife's filet was perfectly cooked. My son had the mesquite grilled chicken and said it was so-so. (I had his leftovers the next day and thought it was excellent.) The reason we had leftovers at all was because we started with a very large sampler of crab cakes, calamari and shrimp paired nicely with a glass of champaign. It was a very quiet night and the service was great. That was Thursday, Friday was at Ditka's, reviewed separately."

  • "We have been going to Devon for years. My companion has just been diagnosed with celiac disease so this was the first time we tried the gluten free menu. As usual everything was excellent. However, we do miss the live entertainment in the cocktail area."

  • "I really enjoyed my first visit to Devon for lunch. I had nothing but great service and food. I was excited to go back for dinner but when we did the service was really bad. We went on a Saturday night at 5 pm way before the dinner rush but waited at least 15 minutes before I had to get up and ask if a server was going to come to our table. Then when the server came he had an attitude about not seeing us be seated. Although the food was very good I doubt I would go back."

  • "We love choosing our fish and our sides. It's always cooked to perfection - whatever we ask. We even got free carrot cake for my husband's birthday. :-) I recommend the blackened fish - whatever you like. We had enough swordfish leftover for Sunday dinner the next day. Delicious. Biscuits are always good, too."
