Co-Owners Brian Piccini and Executive Chef Christopher Coombs are proud of their award winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant’s American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting.   • "Eating at Deuxave was a more than pleasant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and immediately led to our secluded eating area. Our waitress was so friendly and engaging, she was very knowledgeable and provided us with excellent recommendations for wine pairing. The restaurant was very elegant and fancy without being pretentious, which we appreciated. It was loud enough to carry on lively conversations but quiet enough to hear our own conversation. The food came out in a timely fashion and the portions were appropriate. No complaints, I definitely would recommend this restaurant to a friend."

  • "This was the first time we had been to Deuxave and I don't think it will be the last. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The food, the service and the overall ambiance of the restaurant were wonderful. I especially liked the fact that because the restaurant is not just one large open space the noise level, even on a busy Friday evening, was moderate which made it easy to carry on conversation. We started with the Beet Salad and the Lobster Gnocchi and for entrees had the Agnolotti and the Crusted Halibut with fresh fiddlehead ferns. Each course was delicious and I would love to know where they get the rolls they serve with dinner because they were excellent too. Deuxave is a great addition to the Boston dining scene."

  • "For a few years we've passed by Deuxave on the way to dine at Clio or other spots, always saying we should stop in. Finally we did. The food was excellent, including a lobster with gnocchi appetizer, a roast halibut and a spiced duck breast. The duck breast was almost too large a portion, but cooked to perfection (medium rare with the right amount of pink to the meat). The cheese platter for dessert was generous and varied; the chocolate souffle was very good, though perhaps cooked just a tad longer than optimal. The wine, a Neal cabernet sauvignon from Howell Mountain, was outstanding. The service was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended."

We wanted great food, service and ambience but had a small hitch…we would be coming directly from Fenway Park and dressed as expected post-baseball. Well, this elegant and creative restaurant made a truly extraordinary effort with our clan. We were tucked away in a semi-private spot so we could visit, dine, enjoy without feeling sheepish about our attire. The food was as creative, elegant, delicious food as we'd hoped. Every dish. Every touch was exactly as described by our friendly-and-knowledgeable waiter. Service was flawless by the entire team and the half of our party who are french citizens, loved every dish from this contemporary franco-american spot."

  • "The only problem was the valet service. If you want to use it, then you have to approach the restaurant going south down Mass Ave. I parked on the corner, but apparently on the wrong side of the corner, and even though it was raining and the valet guy was standing right next to me, he told me I had to drive around, which takes about ten minutes. I'm sure there's a reason they have this rule, but come on--help a guy out."

Not disappointed on this one - located in residential Area outside of traditional downtown fare this corner restaurant across from Elliot Hotel not likely to disappoint. Open for 3? Years is serves nice selection of eclectic favors paired with classics. Highly recommend the pork trio and save room for dessert. Highly recommend giving this place a try."

  • "Everything was seamless, from reserving online to the time we left. We arrived a little early with hopes to have a cocktail at the bar, but the bar was full and our table was ready, so we enjoyed our craft cocktails at our perfectly situated table. The ambiance could not have been better. Huge windows, fireplace, and dim lighting. We ordered the lobster gnocchi for our appetizer, this was delicious! Then we moved onto dinner, the chicken dish and bolognese dish were something to savor. Perfect proportions and perfectly made. The wine list was also great for pairing with each. But I can not forget to mention our server, Chantel. She was the best and very knowledgeable! She never hovered and allowed plenty of time for us to enjoy the night."

  • "I was so pleased that we were able to get a reservation the same night at this top rated restaurant. Everything about it did not disappoint. The staff were very knowledgable and the service was very professional. We had duck liver pate as a first course. The presentation and accompaniments were lovely. DH had steak which he enjoyed and I had fish which was absolutely perfect. The servings are a good size so dessert needed to be small. A single scoop of toasted hazelnut ice cream was just the perfect ending to a truly lovely meal."

  • "Four of us dined with one having the ravioli which was reported as best ever! Two had the potato crusted halibut and I had the duck with lentils that I am still thinking about. I'd go to Boston just for this dish! I also loved the foie gras! Some were crazy about the small Pariessiene Gnocchi ... Me not so much. Cosmos way above the usual as was French75. Wines chosen with help of Donald were perfect. I've eaten at some fabulous places and the quality of food, ambiance and service, unpretentious style were memorable!"

  • "Though our overall experience at Deuxave turned out well, the restaurant committed one of the cardinal sins of service to start things off: Despite a long-standing reservation, we had to wait approximately 15 minutes for our table and were meanwhile shunted over to the bar where we presumably would spend some additional cash. We didn't -- though I might have started off with an extra glass of wine at our table if we'd been properly seated. Never good to start your guest off with a sour taste."

  • "If I could give Deuxave more than five stars in every category, I would. A foursome of us dined there the other night. Service was outstanding--friendly, helpful, attentive and knowledgeable of the entire menu. The truffled salad was unusual and delicious, followed by a scallop dish that exploded with flavor and was just the right portion size. The chocolate silk cake perfectly completed the meal. The meal was not inexpensive but we considered it a very good value given the quality and diversity of the menu, and the top-notch service. The dining room was beautiful, expansive and airy, and noise was more than acceptable. Deuxave is a gem, and great for a special occasion or night out in town."

  • "No crisp white tablecloths, no starched napery, no flouncing waiting staff telling you in hushed tones what every ingredient on your plate is. Here the food does the talking; except it doesn't talk, it sings! Good ingredients are treated with respect by a talented kitchen brigade and the plates produced are superb. We eat well, dining at many European Michelin starred restaurants, but this place would beat many of them hands down. The food is backed up by a good wine list and friendly, efficient waiting staff. Our best meal in Boston by a country mile."

Everything we put in our mouths was excellent from our appetizers of the duck pate and 9 hour French onion soup, to our entrees of duck, pork trio, steak and pasta Bolognese to our desserts. Our kids exclaimed they even had the best lemonade here they ever tasted. The care taken with every dish was felt on our taste buds. Days later, we're still talking about this meal."

  • "First and foremost, service was fantastic. Our server was genuine, inviting and down to earth. He really showed interest in making a memorable experience for the diner. First course we ordered the duck confit and beef tartare/carpaccio. Both prepared and executed very well with lots of flavor. Entrees we had the black bass and seared duck. Again, both great and extremely flavorful. Dessert we had the honey bavarois and chocolate silk ribbon. The honey bavarois was definitely the winner, very light and refreshing. The flecks of sea salt on the chocolate ribbon wasn't necessary, especially since the chocolate wasn't overly sweet and it was already paired with passion fruit, a tart flavor that would already counterbalance that sweetness."

  • "Great dinner for two. A friend and I spent the day shopping on Newbury St. Dinner at Deuxave was the perfect ending. Wes, our server was fantastic! We basically made our own tasting menu. Started with beet salad (delicious - our favorite), moved onto duck pâté (kitchen prepared by accident but the restaurant let us enjoy it anyway), duck confit (decadent), then lobster gnocchi (we though it had a weird sauce). Entrees were truffle pasta (amazing!) and NY strip (tender and so flavorful). Wes made great wine suggestions and didn't just highlight the most expensive choice (hate when servers do that). Finished with chocolate silk ribbon. As a pastry chef I can tell you its a truly amazing combination of textures and flavors."

  • "our dinner was fabulous. We had the special truffled whole-chicken for two, the foie gras, and the meat carpaccio. Everything was amazing. The only thing was we should have asked the price of the special because it came out to be much more expensive than any other entree ($99). Otherwise, our server was awesome, she even brought a tiny little dessert to celebrate my birthday even though we didn't order any :)"
