This was our 3rd time to Deuxave. Went in November twice and it was spectacular. This time, we were disappointed. The food is still excellent, but the menu has not changed in any visible way. So, it's getting a bit boring. They need to add some new dishes or some specials. Service was OK, but the timing/pacing of meal was mediocre. The appetizer came out very quickly (still drinking my cocktail) but then there was a long lag between appetizer and main course. Also, the wine was not the right temperature. Service was clearly less attentive than in past.

The food was excellent and as you would expect from this type of restaurant. We split the duck confit appetizer which was delicious and falling off the bone. I had the cod which was good - not great. A little bland and a small portion. My husband had the lamb special that was delicious. Great wine list and helpful sommelier if you ask for him. Street parking is impossible and the valet is on Mass Ave coming from Cambridge. It was surprisingly hard to get to because of one ways etc.

Overall, we had a good evening at Deuxave. The food was very good - definitely try both the fois gras and the lobster gnocchi. The service was good, not great. We were a party of 4 and wanted a 7 oclock reservation. Went on OpenTable to make the reservation but there was only 6pm reservations available. I called the restaurant directly (just in case) and was also told the same story. Upon arriving at 6pm, the restaurant was full and lively. By 7:15, over half of the tables were available (certainly could have walked in!). We left around 9 and there were still many table available. Also, the valets were AWFUL - handed the keys and pointed to where the car was parked. A great food evening but not a great overall evening.

Based on the recommendation of friends, I made a reservation for 4 through Open Table. We were seated in a private area and even with a table of about 10 next to us, it was relatively quiet. The restaurant is very attractive, with wine stored in clear glass floor-to-ceiling cases that blend beautifully with the overall room design. Every dish we ordered was attractively presented and well prepared. While the beet appetizer I ordered was rather bland, the polenta that accompanied my chicken main course was absolutely perfect!

Had the tartare and carpaccio appetizer with quail egg - just phenomenal carpaccio, tartare was very good, but more rustic in style. Followed with cod with brussel sprout leaves - exceptionally well done - one of my top food memories of all time. Service was good, but not perfect. Would go back again in a heartbeat. Hard on the wallet, but worth it.

This was our first try. Positive was food, presentation and material. Negative was food came late and cold. I had strip steak, my friend had duck confit. We had a prior reservation but even though outside was only 32F average January in Boston, where we were seated we had to keep our coats on.It is not a comfortable place in cold weather. Waiter was friendly but bread man was confused. Napoleon was practically just chockalate mousse, just layers of philo sheets and mousse. It is above average place but may give another try.

The flavor combinations are often surprising, even in the case of the cocktails. The boggy Collins is amazing. Service was attentive and informative; the room is lovely. Will be back for sure.

Being in the industry tends to make one both: cynical and highly demanding when it comes to great food, service and a original, well put together wine list. I'm happy to say that Deuxave's kitchen, front of house and wine program surpassed any expectations we had going in for dinner late on a Sunday night. The onion soup was layered in flavors, but managed to stay true to the classic recipe. The duck was cooked to perfect temperature, the components in the dish all elevating the protein, the bolognese had all the meat and foie gras bold flavors and seasoning one would expect, and then some, all coating the delicate and perfectly executed home made tagliatelle. The wine list made it possible to enjoy a great Burgundy in the double digits...

Stylish new restaurant with creative drink options and extremely helpful staff. Food was well presented and good, but not great. The scallops lacked flavor and the carrot reduction did not help, the french onion soup was watery and tasted as if it hadn't had enough time on the stove, but the steak was excellent. My biggest comment about this restaurant is the made up name that is a challenge to pronounce. A bit pretentious. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, with a cozy, rustic ambiance. There is a nice fireplace. And the many windows that overlook Mass Ave offer a great view of the goings just outside the door. The food is excellent, but the chef may be trying too hard. The prices are high and the portions small. I had the scallops which were cooked perfectly. I wish more of their natural flavor was featured. The dish was overpowered by the carrot foam on top. The same goes for the hamachi appetizer. A lovely fish, with a citrus glaze, but more (too many) carrots took away from the flavor of the dish. Service was

This restaurant is listed as $30 but is far above that. I'd say each person will be shelling out $60+ so we're talking prices like the Hub and L'espalier. This really ought to be corrected. Food was excellent, service was good. They came a little too many times to our table so there seemed to be a little too frequent interruption. An excellent waiter should never be noticed, but I had to adjust myself in my seat every time they came by. It was a little too tight seating. I had called to reserve the seat and asked for close to window OR close to the fireplace. First table we were placed behind a huge concrete pillar so we had NO view or access to the fireplace. And it was most certainly NOT crowded and I had reserved the table long ago.
