Kaitlin noticed this and offered to sharpen it for me back in their office. Where else would you get that kind of service. We started off with an order of the ancho chips and dip, as well as the small plate of chorizo-stuffed bacon-wrapped dates. While you only get 3 dates on the plate, they were phenomenal. The chips came with both vinegar and ancho ranchero dips. My wife had the duck confit pot pie, while I had the espresso-glazed ribeye. My wife loved her pot pie, especially the assortment of vegetables that were inside (including zucchini). My ribeye was gigantic and was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of red in the middle. The espresso glaze added a unique flavor that greatly accentuated the meat. It was served with Swiss chard and potatoes. I have been here twice and the only thing that makes me upset is how long it takes to get our food. We ordered around 6:30 and we didn't get our food for about 45 min which is ridiculous and I think something should be done about that. This particular night was my birthday. Because I am aware that this is a popular dining choice I made a reservation. I arrived approximately 5 minutes after my reservation time. I was then asked to wait until a table was available. This took about 15-20 minutes. This was a suprise to me. My guest was a first time diner to Distihl. I think it was a slight turn off to her that we did need to wait so long, considering it was a Tuesday, we had a reservation, and we were 5 minutes late.
Once seated, the service was excellent and the food was fabulous!! We tend to stick to the seafood sides of the menu, as steaks are not their sweet spot.
