Don't miss it!This was our 1st time at this restaurant and I must say if I lived any where near NY it would be a place that I would go to on a regular basis. We loved it from the time that we walked in the door. We were greeted by a very lovely young lady that seated us promptly, ask if she could get us a beverage while we looked over the menu. The menu is perfect and the food is so so good. During our meal the owner came over and ask us how everything was for us and ask us where we were from. It is so quaint inside. Perfectly cooked porterhouse for 2, a rib eye, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe & peas, crab cakes and shrimp cocktails, bottle of red, espresso and smooth, italian ricotta cheesecake. Really, really good food, polite and friendly service, and a quaint, old-fashioned, neighborhood place. This is definitely the kind of place you'll keep coming back to. I look forward to that. John, our waiter was attentive and accommodating without crossing the line into being overbearing. The wine list is small but thoughtfully prepared and fairly priced. Everything was perfectly prepared. I'd been here before with my girlfriend. so this was my second trip to DeStefano's. Food and service are very good. NY Strip Steak was very tender, with lots of flavor. The cream corn was outstanding!
The owner stopped by the table to make sure we were comfortable...we were. Nice people and a great Open Table find!
You can keep Lugar's (I was there a few months ago), as we'll definitely be back here.

The dining room is small but tables are not crowded together so it feels larger than it is. Food is great, the petit filet (ordered rare) pretty much melts in your mouth. If available, as a side I highly recommend the brussel sprouts.
