Our 12 passenger van is available to pick up your Large Party whether you are a visitor or a resident, at your clubhouse, hotel or central point, and return you to your point of origin.   • "Four of us had dinner on Saturday evening. Dinner entrees were okay, at best, the server was rather aloof and rather distant.. a tall fellow of European decent. Mixed up our separate bills for dinner. One party ordered the Swordfish for an entree, it was tough. Another had the seafood linguini,which was fishy and very bad... Linguine was over done. The other two entrees, seared northwest salmon very garlicky and braised beef were okay. We were there a month ago and it was quite okay.... Must have changed the Chef. There are numerous other restaurant choices in La Quinta. Will not go back there again."

  • "Not the first time at DS, but will be the last. Four of us were very disappointed at lack of depth of flavor. With entrees in $30-55 range, we expected more than a forgettable meal. Even salads were lacking flavor. Salmon, tuna & short ribs left us feeling we could have prepared better at home. Out of bottle of wine we ordered (pet peeve-not a good start). We always feel that CA has offered us some of the most innovative dining experiences in the US, but not here. Sorry folks but got better dining in Nashville. Going back to Cat Bird Seat for this price."

  • "We went to Desert Sage with friends for dinner. The wait person was quick to show up at our table. She was very courteous and right away offered to open the bottle of wine we brought. She explained the menu well and returned promptly to take our order. Food was excellent among our group. Short rib was very tender. The portions are just right. Sauces are very flavorful."

  • "We've dined at this attractive restaurant before but usually at happy hour. We've even held a private party upstairs. However we found it lacking on this occasion. Though the wait staff was friendly, it was chaotic at best. 3 separate time's waiters tried to deliver someone else's food to our table. Our white wine bottle came out nearly room temperature and neither my husband or I was offered the traditional sip to sample our selection. But worst of all...our bread basket was EMPTY upon arrival. We both had fish entrees that were slightly above average but not exciting enough to warrant the high prices. It's not likely we'll be returning any time soon ."

  • "The restaurants dinner menu is very overpriced for the quality and quantity presented. Our waiter was pretentious, not knowledgeable and old style. One dinner was the lamb medallions, which were so tiny, and overcooked. The halibut was no more that four oz. in size. The swordfish was dry. The salmon was a good size, and was the Scottish Lock Duart, which the waiter had no idea what was. It is a high quality fresh water farm raised fish. The happy hour menu here is good, while limited."

  • "We celebrated my husbands birthday at Sage. The hostess sat us in a quiet table, and she also pitched in to bring us our wine selection. Our waitress suggested some specials not on the menu, and we chose the oysters on the half shell. They came fully dressed with a briny but yummy clear liquid that enhanced the flavor of the oysters and were a perfect start to the meal. We followed with the ahi tuna and seafood fettuccine, both extremely good. The ahi sauce was a bit overwhelming but tasteful. I had indicated on my reservation that it was a birthday celebration, so I was a bit surprised that no complimentary birthday dessert was forthcoming, but overall a pleasant dining experience."

  • "It has been a couple of years since we last dined at Desert Sage. I always enjoyed it but also found the menu and wine list to be a bit pretentious. Not a place I would go on a regular basis. I had the Kobe beef lasagne. Awesome. My wife and one other had the chicken dish. She described it as best she has had and she is kind of a connoisseur of chicken dishes. The other person is kind of a foodie and also thought it was the best he had had. We shared a couple of desserts that were also great. Service was friendly and efficient. Really looking forward to going back and trying some of the other entrees."

  • "On our first visit, Christmas Ever we stopped in late night to sit at the bar, listen to music and partake in some appetizers. It was perfect setting. Met many locals families and friends. We great welcome for two out-of-towners. Said we would come back for dinner sometime, as La Quinta is our favorite vacation spot. We did several time. The food is good, friendly staff and the bartender is always attentive."

  • "1st visit to Desert Sage. Lovely & quiet room. Ordered both red & white wines - restaurant had neither one. Apologetic waiter sold us more expensive replacements at the first bottle prices. Oysters oversauced with dreadful "sake mignonette." "Pastrami cured salmon" nothing like David Burke original & came on a soggy, cold "crispy potato galette." Entrees uniformly good, especially the short rib lasagne. Very tasty goat cheesecake. How to rate? Service lagged enough that we had to order more wine for the entrees, but was otherwise attentive. Nice room, decent food. Desert Sage pleasant enough but way overpriced - there are better options in the desert at the price. But order wisely and you can have a nice enough evening."

  • "Nice ambience for outdoor dining on the patio. Service was excellent. We've generally enjoyed our experience and have made this a holiday tradition when we travel to La Quinta. The reason I am grading the food just FAIR (two stars) on this trip is because for the $44 pre-set holiday menu, the side portions for all four entrées served were lacking."

  • "You have to know someone for good service and a decent table. After making advanced reservations and for the third time in 2 years, we were seated on patio furniture on the indoor patio that has uneven stone flooring. After 15 minutes someone gave us water. 10 minutes more and another person was appalled by my request to sample one of the wines they sell by the glass -- "We never give samples". Really?? Several requests for bread to several people go ignored. I'm not sure we were ever waited on twice by the same people for the entire visit! Food was served cold but no one was around again. I wouldn't be writing this, but this is the 3rd time we have dined here with the same result, so be prepared to be unimpressed!"

I had the bone in rib eye, their special for the evening, and not only was it delicious but it was so tender it could've been cut with a fork. What a wonderful doing experience"
